Highly recommend Silvia and this tour.
Silvia made the wait in line for entrance pass by very quickly as she gave a very detailed and interesting account of the history of St Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican. We took the elevator in the dome so avoided 200 or so steps that the younger people managed. We weren’t fit enough to climb right to the top and people commented that the stairs were quite narrow so we were glad we didn’t even make an attempt. There were a lot of queue jumpers and Silvia turned them away when she saw them. We would highly recommend this tour and Silvia as a guide. Would suggest booking the morning tour as there were very long queues waiting to go in, as we left.

Worth upgrading to small/private tour
Absolutely amazing experience. It's very crowded so worth the upgrade to small group or private tour to make it easier to move around. Our guide Sara was incredibly knowledgeable with animated stories for practically every piece. It was a huge enrichment to the experience to have the stories and histories explained. It helped to better appreciate what we were viewing. Amazing and unforgettable.

Incredibly Knowledgable
I wasn’t sure what to expect given that I’d booked my tour for Good Friday, and I knew that it would be crowded and a bit overwhelming. While both of those things proved to be true, it didn’t detract from my tour and I had a great experience with my extremely knowledgeable guide. She had a deep wealth of stories and information to draw from as we moved through the Vatican Museums towards the Sistine Chapel and I appreciated her fluid and responsive guidance. I learned so much more than I expected to, and I really enjoyed hearing about the acquisitions and creations of so many priceless artworks and artifacts housed in the Vatican. While getting into the Vatican required queuing for a while, the fast pass option saved me so much time and energy and I’d highly recommend it. The Sistine Chapel was breathtaking, although I was disappointed that seemingly no one else listened to the guidance to not talk in the actual chamber. How much better the experience would have been had it been treated as a holy site and not a Dave & Busters. The recent restoration of the Last Judgement wall was incredible and I felt fortunate to see it in its restored glory. Overall, I’m very glad I attended this tour and would recommend it to anyone equally curious about the vast history of the Holy See and these incredible works of art.

An excellent tour of an amazing place.
She gave an insightful and intelligent tour of the highlights of this amazing collection. She put the works into historical context and also pointed out matters of technique and skills that would not have been immediately obvious to the untrained eye. Her presence greatly improved our understanding and quality of our visit.
