Paul, our guide in the Vatian museum, was outstanding! He had so much knowledge and made it fun while adding tidbuts of funny information!

Well worth it in time saved with getting to the front of the line. We went to the basilica after the Vatican tour and were in the building in 5 minutes. The ‘skip the line’ option is very helpful.
Sandra_K, Aug 2026
The museum was lovely, the immersion was divine, and the art was spectacular. The only downside was that it was rather hot in the establishment. I suppose it'd be better to visit during cooler times, but the experience was still pleasantly insightful.

Excellent tour, lovely guide. Very long in this ridiculous heat but still very enjoyable. Amazing to see.
Robert_G, Aug 2026
Our tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly. She answered all questions and made the experience better than if we would have gone by ourselves. If I were to do this again though I would pick the cooler time of year because it was really hot!
Allen_B, Aug 2026
Great tour with our passionate and knowledgeable guide. Made sure we'd seen most of the 'highlights' as you could spend days here and still not see everything.
faby_m, Aug 2026
Amazing your! Lots of walking, overwhelmed with so much beauty all Around. So much to intake. Make sure to visit gift shops and have your rosary blessed by a priest.

Looking forward to this tour since I booked this 6 months ago and ended up very disappointed. First, we were supposed to start at 8am and got an email that we needed to be moved to 9:15am. Then, we ended up with a huge family and all they did was to catch up the whole time. The amount of money we paid for this tour is not worth it….considering we paid almost 3x the usual since it was summertime. Just buy your ticket and explore the museum, Sistine Chapel, and Basilica on your own. This is definitely not worth it!

It was very difficult to understand our guide. She spoke quickly and it was hard to follow along. It was extremely crowded and we kept getting lost in the mix. We ultimately ditched the group and went on our own.
Ashley_N, Aug 2026
This tour was wonderful because I had more of an idea of what I was seeing throughout the museums. Francesco, our tour guide, was energetic and charismatic which made it even better. Definetly a must do while in Rome

We booked an 8:30 am tour, they told us to arrive at 8:15 am. Which we did, they didn’t even put us in our group till 9:00. They walked us over to meet with our guide. It was very disorganized. The guide didn’t speak very good English even though it was an English speaking tour.

It was very informative and you will be walking a lot but got see a lot.
Our guide was very knowledgeable.

I wanted to recognize our tour guide Irina. She was outstanding, knowledgeable and well prepared. We were very impressed with her. Vivicos tours should be proud to have her representing your company. Thank you,

Tour guide was great. Vatican museum was beautiful but it was a lot to see so having a guide made it possible to visit in a day. If you really want to take your time, get a ticket for the next day or if you have the time and energy you can explore more on your own after the tour. Go on low season because the summer season SUCKS! Very crowded like shoulder to shoulder crowded, and hot and humid with no AC majority of the time. You can’t enjoy the museum fully because of how many people there are. Afterwards, we had access to St. Peter’s Basilica which was incredibly beautiful and huge inside! Get your walking shoes ready because it’s going to be a long day exploring the museum and basilica. TIPS: Get first access early in the morning for less crowds. Have lunch near the city after your tour or inside the museum which may be best, to save time and steps. Then go to the basilica for the rest of the day. Wednesdays are mass and general audience days so plan accordingly.

Beautiful inside. Great guide. Only downside was it was incredibly hot. Would recommend trying to come in spring or fall
Natalia_B, Jul 2026
We had a great tour guide who was very knowledgeable and explained so much of the museum to us. I wish we could’ve spent more time with her to explore more of the museum.
We went to Basilica and Sistine solo which allowed us to spend as much time as we wanted.
Amy_M, Jul 2026
Highly recommend this guided tour! Guides provided helpful information to understand and better appreciate the vast artworks toured.
Meredith_P, Jul 2026
This is literally just a ticket broker. They walk you into the Vatican Museum and hand you off to a Vatican guide. Nothing wrong per se, but no communication and nothing special you couldn't do on your own.
Samarpita_D, Jul 2026
Very professional and well organized team. We enjoyed the guided trip and will definitely do more trips with you in future.
Kimberly_P, Jul 2026
Our tour guide was lovely and very knowledgeable; however we were unable to really appreciate the information and the history of the Vatican due to the masses of people all jammed into each room. It was so stressful trying to stay with the group due to people pushing and shoving between us which impacted our ability to listen and absorb the information . We understand summer is very busy but allowing so many people in at one time really ruined our experience unfortunately. We thought paying for this tour would alleviate some of the crowds but it did not.
Richard_L, Jul 2026
Summer is hot and the Vatican puts as many people as they can into the museum space. It’s a must see while in Rome.
Valeria_P, Jul 2026
Claudia was nothing but amazing. She is so knowledgeable and very experienced. My family and I truly enjoyed every bit do this tour.
This is a 10/10 tour. Highly recommend.
Nandini_W, Jul 2026
Valentina was amazing! Super friendly and very informative in a really engaging way! Highly recommend this tour.
Jacqueline_H, Jul 2026
Not exactly what i expected. Our group was quite large which meant it was quite chaotic getting into the Vatican. It took us 30 min just to reach the entrance. Then the chaos continued as we were handed over to a different tour guide whose pronunciation was so poor we didn't hear a single word he said. It became a self tour we didnt even use the head set. He abandoned us after walking the Vatican and we did the sistine chapel and basilica alone with no idea how to get there and no preferential treatment in the ques. Was disappointing
MelissaWells, Jul 2026
Very good communication. Very organized, incredibly informative and helpful. While this is not labeled a skip the line tour, we thankfully were served immediately and skipped the line.
Christina_T, Jul 2026
Guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, but it was difficult to understand his English. Additionally, he wasn’t aware of the group locations and left group ppl behind. Furthermore, he didn’t explain clearly how to get to St. Peter’s ( probably a language problem) after he left us outside the Sistine Chapel.
Hailey_A, Jul 2026
Our tour took a very long time to begin. We had to be there 15 minutes early to wait over an hour to even enter the museum and begin on our tour. The sound pieces weren’t ideal—difficult to hear. And our tour guide skipped a number of key pieces in the museum.
MelinaM_M, Jul 2026
Booking their early time was definitely bored it less crowns easy security pass still it was excellent idea to have a Tour Guide. It’s very chaotic as you go inside without the true guide it would’ve taken us a while to figure out which direction to go and where to meet and what to see it’s overwhelming you need days to go through the galleries and see everything I did a little bit of research I ahead of time I’m fascinated by everything Egyptian so I wanted to make sure after our guided tour to go back to the Egyptian Gallery. If you are short on time and days, definitely do a little bit of research. I know what you want to see and watch Gallery it is.

The skip-the-line access was absolutely essential for visiting the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica in the summer. Anyone considering these sites during peak season should 100% purchase skip-the-line access. The crowds were intense, with people everywhere, and I cannot imagine trying to visit without that part of the tour.
That being said, there are a few things travelers should know. The listing stated that the tour was not wheelchair friendly, but there could have been more clarity about the amount and pace of walking involved. Our group included someone using a cane, and there was also an older couple who moved a little more slowly. At times, the guide continued moving ahead through the very crowded museum, which made it difficult for some guests to keep up.
Our guide was very nice, but because the museum was so packed, she was often far ahead of us and it was hard to hear or understand what she was explaining. Her English was also difficult to understand at times. I fully recognize that we were visiting another country, but when a tour is offered in a specific language, guests should be able to clearly understand the guide.
The Vatican Museums portion felt very rushed and crowded, almost like a cattle call in the middle of summer, and unfortunately it was disappointing because we had little to no idea what we were seeing at times. Travelers should also know that guides are not allowed to speak inside the Sistine Chapel, and photographs are not permitted there.
We did enjoy visiting St. Peter’s Basilica on our own after the guided portion. Overall, the skip-the-line access was extremely valuable, but the guided museum experience itself was not what we had hoped for due to the crowds, pace, and difficulty hearing and understanding the guide.

Our tour guide passed out papers with information about the painting in the chapel to all the groups but ours. When I asked him for one he completely ignored me and said I could take photos in the chapel. The tour started very disorganized and we couldn’t hear hardly any instructions. Then the tour guide would give a ton of information at one spot and then say “oh I’ve talked too much” and then sped off to the next spot so he was hard to keep up with. I did a Vatican tour 2 years ago with a different company I found on Viator and had a way better experience.
