Great experience, large crowds of people; and at lot of waking and going up and down.
Too bad that it was so crowded that day before Holy Week.
Jennifer_N, Mar 2026
Our guide Valentina was amazing. Very informative and knowledgeable. Some parts were crowded and overwhelming, but that is the nature of the crowds. Valentina always made sure she had us all and kept watch. This was an unforgettable experience.
Tod_M, Mar 2026
Tour ends but you need time to continue. Easy to stay another 3 hours, I book another afternoon event
Dawn_C, Mar 2026
You must include the Basillica as this is magnificent. You don't have your guide telling you what things are but that's ok. Make sure you select a tour that ends before 230 because the Basillica closes. So glad I was able to check this off of my bucket list.
Kimberly_B, Mar 2026
Did not get the Basilica portion as it was a Wednesday. They shoupd not allow the purchase when they know its not available.
Geraldine_K, Mar 2026
Wear comfortable walking shoes is a must.
Our guide was very informative and helpful.
Booking online before travelling & skipping the long queues was the best advice we got.
Meredith_L, Mar 2026
Very engaging and informative guide (Thanks, Patrick), great information shared throughout the tour, clear instructions as we moved through the Vatican as a group.
melissa_l, Mar 2026
It’s worth the extra price of a tour just so you don’t have to navigate the insane Vatican crowds alone. Wish we didn’t have the tour guide spend so long outside the museum having us look at printed out images of the art we were going to see inside. That got old after about 40 minutes. Other than that it was nice to have someone ushering us through the madness
KENNETH_S, Feb 2026
Our guide spent an hour discussing the pictures. That time could have been spent better discussing more of the statuary

We went on a Vatican tour today and it was an incredible experience. We had a wonderful time and learned so much. Our tour guide was a woman, and she was extremely attentive, very knowledgeable, and truly kind. She explained everything clearly and made the tour very enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Vatican.
Sara_B, Jan 2026
Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We would not hesitate to book again or recommend to others.
susan_b, Jan 2026
Our guide was wonderful, tour thorough and exciting. She was excited, informed, friendly, and thoughtful.

Outstanding! Our guide Antonio (who speaks Japanese, plays saxophone and draws) was an exceptional guide and went above and beyond with facts, history and stories. He literally painted a masterpiece for us with his words. Thank you Antonio!
Kristin_P, Jan 2026
This was a must do! The tour guide Lora was absolutely outstanding. Her knowledge of history was impressive to teaching us the timeline of all parts of the story of Vatican City. This tour gave us a “fast pass” feel to everything as we never waited in any line.
Debra_H, Jan 2026
Well informed tour guide, went over and above to get us to Sistine Chapel after Vatican declared without warning ‘closing after mid day’. Interesting and easy to understand information to paintings, great for non art historians!
Leticia_C, Jan 2026
The tour guide was full of knowledge of the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. There’s so much to see and admire but he took us through it at a very rushed pace that I felt we missed out on admiring the works in the museum. Our group had 3 “senior citizens” and walked quite fast and climbing the stairs was very tiring for a couple of us. I feel we missed out on seeing a lot of important works. Understandably the place was extremely crowded and busy because of the time of year and lots of people on holiday. Maybe a self guided tour would be more beneficial if one is interested in learning more about the history behind the collection of artifacts in this museum.
Katie_N, Jan 2026
The tour guide was friendly and nice. You get basic information about the Vatican and get to skip the line into the museums and basilica. Our group had 20 people in it. There was nothing too special about the tour so I give it 4 stars. If you want a more detailed and private tour then maybe look into other options.
The check in office before the tour started was easy to find and the check in office was quick and easy though.
Rajesh_G, Jan 2026
Our assigned tour guide at the Vatican was excellent. She was a professor and definitely knew her stuff. The problem (and why this was only 4 stars from us) was that the Sistine Chapel was unexpectedly closing in the afternoon. So that meant EVERYONE was just running through the museum to get to the chapel before the doors were closed. As a result, we were not given any time to enjoy the beautiful art pieces, nor did our guide be given the time to explain to us. Not a fault of our guide - just the situation I suppose. But be clear that the Vatican can close the Sistine Chapel at their discretion and without warning.
On any other day - this particular tour arrangement would leave the visitor fairly time compressed for the museum in order to make the scheduled time for the basilica. If I were to do this again - I would book the basilica separately from the museum and book the basilica in the morning (so that way you can take time to see it) and then book the museum as a separate tour (for the afternoon). That way you won't be rushed.

The Vatican itself is overwhelming and the pace you go through it at makes it even tougher. That said she was efficient and informative and had some good stories. I am grateful for the heads up about the Holy door entrance.
Frankly the only real off putting thing may not bother many people, but her explanation of the last judgement and joking that “the bad people like her would be dragged down to hell” doesn’t tend to land well with a Christian audience. WE are Christians though not Catholics and she seemed to have little knowledge of the catholic or Christian faith other than what you might find in pop culture, that is commonly believed, but simply not true.
I am sure she was not intentionally trying to be insulting or flippant, but being a bit more respectful and informed regarding the faith would probably be a good idea.

The Vatican museum and the Bastilica were absolutely amazing. More time is needed in both to experience it properly.
Unfortunately the Sistine Chapel was closed.
Nick_V, Jan 2026
Terrible, we were walked into the museum, told to wait in a group, then he asked my son to get head sets for everyone, then we waited in the lobby for a guide for an hour. After and hour went by we weee told there was no guide available and we should just go in the museum on our own because we could get onto the Sistine Chapel before it closes for renovations at 2:00. We walked directly there and didn’t even come close to making it on time. I think the representative Rodrigo knew that and lied so he could leave. Do not spend you money with this tour. Trusting them cost us the opportunity to experience the Vatican on a trip we had been planning for 20 years. I have requested a full refund and will update the review once that happens..
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about your disappointment.
We would like to clarify that guide availability and access times inside the Vatican are managed under strict regulations and can be affected by last-minute operational changes beyond our control. At no point would our staff intentionally provide misleading information, and we strongly refute that suggestion.
When unforeseen circumstances occur, our team always aims to offer the best possible alternative so guests may still access the Vatican sites before closing times.
Your refund request is being handled through the appropriate channel according to our policy. We regret that this situation impacted such a meaningful trip and wish you the best in your future travels.

Our tour guide provided us an immersed experience that help us understand what we were looking at and we're about to see next. It was a lot to take in but he did a great job of defining what is important and not so important about the museum, the chapel, the Basilica.
Geraldine_S, Dec 2025
Awesome trip! Well worth the investment to get prioritized access, and guide. The regular q was hours long.
Akul_G, Dec 2025
I think this was one of the worst tours we have attended. The tour started late and the guide was in a rush to finish the tour. We did not get to know anything about the museum, only thing well explained was regarding sistine chapel.
The guide wasn’t interested in sharing any insights about the museum and jusy showed us a few highlights along the way. I will not recommend this!
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations.
Tour start times can occasionally be adjusted due to security procedures or crowd management measures imposed by the Vatican, which may also influence the overall pace of the visit. Our guides are required to follow strict timeframes and routes set by the authorities, especially during high-volume days.
While it is not possible to cover every section of the Vatican Museums in detail, our tours are designed to highlight key areas and provide historical context within the time allowed. We regret that this approach did not align with your personal expectations.
We appreciate your comments and wish you a pleasant continuation of your travels.
cassio_k, Dec 2025
Basilica Access: The worst possible experience! The skip the line took almost 3 hours. Viator promised skip the line but was totally the other way around. No one accompanied us to the part of Basilica. And with children, it was even worse. I don't recommend it. We pay to save time, but we still spend 3 hours in line to get in. Money back, please.
Response from Host, Jan 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear about your frustration.
We would like to clarify that skip-the-line access does not apply to St. Peter’s Basilica. Entry to the Basilica is always subject to mandatory Vatican security screening, which cannot be bypassed by any tour operator and may result in long waiting times, especially during peak periods.
As clearly stated in the tour description, Basilica access is independent and not guided. Our service focuses on facilitating entry according to the options offered, but waiting times are determined entirely by Vatican security and crowd management.
We regret the inconvenience caused by high visitor volume, particularly when traveling with children. However, refund requests are evaluated in accordance with the terms accepted at the time of booking.
We appreciate your comments and wish you the best in your future travels.
Mindy_D, Dec 2025
Lots to see and a ton of people, so it was hard to take in everything. It was nice having the earpiece to hear the guide and she had lots of information to share, but navigating through the crowds and trying to keep up with the group made it hard to fully enjoy the experience.
Athena_V, Dec 2025
Our tour guide was excellent. She took her time and explained an answered our questions. Great tour guide.
Julie_S, Dec 2025
A very efficient tour. All procedures were thoroughly explained at the beginning and throughout our visit. Just enough information and lots of time to view the wonderful Vatican. Well done and thanks.
Florence_B, Dec 2025
Definitely wear your walking shoes but this was an amazing experience. Our guide was so knowledgeable about everything we saw and she answered everyone's questions thoroughly. We had so much fun and to be able to see all of the things we did in such a short time was incredible!
Natalie_A, Dec 2025
Great guide, very knowledgeable! Skipped the long lines and totally worth it!! The locale is large so it’s best to go with a guide where you’ll get the max out of your trip.
