If no guided tour I recommend the audio speaker rental. Otherwise wandering through the art history is amazing but can be confusing for a newbie. Like me 🤓
Didn’t realize this was self guided! Would redo a guided tour for the full experience, guided tours get to skip the line as well so that would have been a better bang for our buck.
Definitely book skip the line. So much faster! Also I do not recommend with a guide. Have done before and you miss so much. Rent the audio guide inside and enjoy the museums in your own time and terms. We spent 4 1/2 hours enjoying the museum. Stopped at the restaurant for a brief cappacino break and brought water. My only mix up was picking up tickets at Big Bus…I was looking for a bus and not a business and my map directions took me past the business (worker inside said that happens a lot).
Not enough info on meeting place poor directions more info on where and how to get there lineups were crazy
The Vatican was absolutely beautiful and so was the Sistine Chapel. I definitely recommend getting tickets in advance to skip the 3+ hour queue to get a ticket at the door. The only thing that we did not like was the amount of group tours going on. It was extremely cramped and they would stop in the middle of hallways with 30+ people, making it extremely hard to move through the museum.
Super easy to find the entrance, and since we have a baby, they let you skip the line and go in right away.
Came early, was told to go to a certain line that was wrong. By that time I found the right line I was told it was too late. My appointment was 330 and I found the right check in line at 335 pm and they would NOT let me in. $100 wasted
DO NOT BUY! The tour ticket provided is nothing more than the ticket you can buy online at 3 times the price! No tour just an operator profiteering

Way too expensive. Waiting in line would've make it easier.
And it would've been nice to be aware of the DRESS CODE to get in the Chapel.

Hi, the waiting line is 2/3 hours,
But when you have skipped the queue ticket you need 8/10 minutes to get inside ,
Skip the line ticket little expensive but time saving for your trip.
Our guide Angela made the visit amazing. She was so knowledgeable and answered our questions easily. She was awesome even with the kids

As much as my husband and I enjoy guided tours, we do quite well on our own. I recommend a self- guided tour of the Vatican Museums. We had a great time. Buy the skip the line tickets, though. If not, you will be waiting forever to get in.

This unguided tour is worth the price. Skip the extremely long ticket lines. Book the earliest time possible as the crowds are enormous in August.
This tour was simply a wonderful experience, and I am extremely satisfied. The skip-the-line access was fantastic and saved us so much time! Our guide was incredibly good—very knowledgeable, attentive, and positive. They gave us an unforgettable and amazing tour of the Vatican, explaining everything in a very engaging way. It was especially impressive how beautifully and passionately they told the history of the Sistine Chapel; it felt like we were transported right back to that era.

This is a self guided tour but they have the tickets available for you and will send them to you day of. Way easier than dealing with the heat and being outside. Keep in mind you must have your ID and name must match.

We had a great experience with our Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel tour. Everything was well organized, and the biggest benefit was being able to skip the extremely long entry line, which saved us a lot of time and made the experience much more enjoyable.
One helpful tip for future visitors: if your tour is scheduled for 8:00 AM, don’t arrive too early to the ticket redemption point. The Bigbus location doesn’t open until 7:30 AM, so you’ll just end up waiting outside if you get there before then.
Overall, everything went smoothly, and I’d definitely recommend this tour if you’re looking for an easy and efficient way to visit the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel.
There are an absurd number of steps up and down. It is very bad for people who have trouble with stairs. Also a very difficult thing to do if you have another date on the same day.

What you buy here for the Vatican museum needs to be exchanged for real tickets at the stated location. Really easy! The path through the Vatican Museum to get to the Sistine Chapel is quite long… but it was great.
The Vatican was very nice but booking here was awful. We could not find where to meet the gentleman and he was extremely rude and demanding just expecting us to know where to go when the address took us elsewhere. Not to mention he was making us run and saying if you miss it you will not get your ticket. On the ticket the printed out it said the price was 28 euro and we paid well over that and got scammed. I’ve always booked with this app but after this experience I will be trying to look elsewhere every time because oh how me and my girlfriend were treated and scammed

Get to the meeting place early. Our visit time changed so be prepared to be flexible.
Our guide Angela was fantastic. Exceptionably knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She made us feel welcome and answered any questions we had.
I was so grateful to this tour company. They turned a stressful day into a seamless, fun one. They seem to really care about us and our experience, not churn us out asap like just a way to make money. They went above and beyond with flexibility and I’m really glad I booked with them.
Taxi driver got us to the office pretty easily. Very fast transaction. The ticket supplier walked us around the corner and pointed to the entrance and explained how to gain entrance and skip the queues. We didn’t wait in any lines and walked right into the lobby. Had to get our tickets from a ticket booth, but there wasn’t any issue (our tickets were for a French speaking guided tour, which we don’t speak French) since we were going to do a self-guided tour.
The museum is easy to navigate and they flow you through the entire museum and ultimately into the Sistine Chapel. Parts of the museum were extremely hot, other parts were air conditioned.
Ticket prices were higher than what you would have paid at Museum by itself, but the guidance did make it easy for us to get in.
I didn’t like the fact the tickets were non-refundable as things happen from between when you buy and the date of the event, but it worked out that everything went smoothly.
Once you get in there, there is no way out. 2.5 to 3 hours long. Also understand our guide was impossible. Felt it was totally not worth it. Wish I could get my money back . It was very hot, no where to stop and get more water.
They charged €105 per ticket per person. When we received the tickets from them at the meeting the cost on the ticket was €28.00. No audio included even though it is included on the ticket. Audio cost an extra €8.00 per head., They get you to meet 30 minutes before, the meeting location Big Bus dirty. Messaging to hurry all the time.. when I questioned the price they said it was taxes.. company is a sham.
