Alba was an amazing tour guide to guide you through the beautiful ancient buildings explaining the history behind everything. Amazing views and really cool history to gain from this tour.
The tour was great! Louise was an amazing guide who provided so much information I would have never known. She gave us all perspectives of the Colosseum and the Forum and was able to answer all questions. Would totally recommend!
Andriy was extremely entertaining and knowledgeable. The entire family enjoyed it and we learnt quite a bit

I make it clear I am on a walking stick. Im slow. it's on my viator profile. simple.
Ive travelled a huge amount. I am aware that guides have a flock of people to look after, and time keeping is important. But on this occasion, most of the time I felt like the lost unwanted sheep.
I was at the back right from the start, and no way to get to the front. even at the forum ticket queue, I was last though and the tour had set off without me. I did catch up, but by then the great information being told was almost over and time to move on. and because there were so many other groups, I soon got segragated once more and fighting to look for flavia with her flag disappearing into the distance. So you stop listening because you are concentrating on trying to find her.
we did stop in the forum, and when I caught up, was pointed to another easier set of steps. shortly after we had a much needed break. every time Flavia did a headcount, my traveling companion pointed me out to her trying to catch up.
and then the colliseum. a madhouse of tours all trying to stay together and get through security. left behind again, tho I did catch up for using the lift. it astounds me the number of lazy able bodied people who will push you out of the way to be in the queue for the lift.
by now I had well and truly given up trying to keep up and felt my best course of action was to try my best and take some photos. I was glad when the tour was over, but overall I wish I had made the earlier decision to abandon the tour altogether. After all I had been to the colliseum a number of years before.
This is not to say Flavia is a bad guide. on the contrary, she is according to my travelling companion a very good knowledgeable guide. But she does need some awareness training of those who are less able bodied.

That there is much walking and many stairs. However so much history was shared, so much learnt from knowledgeable guide.

This experience was cut short as we didn’t get the guided tour for the Roman Forum portion. Our tour operator Giorgio from City Wonders was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and funny!
I would give this a 5 star rating if we were able to experience it fully. Giorgio informed us to reach out to request partial refunds for the experience since 1/3 of it was cut out from the day. To my surprise, Viator would not refund us any of the money back and even after multiple emails with their customer service, they made the final decision of not refunding us back the money we spent.
All this to say, do not book with Viator. Please if possible book directly through City Wonders & request Giorgio if you want to learn a lot.

This was such an educational tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. We learned so much. Well worth the time and money.
Great tour led by archeologist expert in explaining all the ruins, really got familiar with the coliseum and history behind it. Showed us all the layers and how the site was used in ancient times.
This tour is clearly designed for two types of people: (1) people with no real interest in history who are happy to blindly follow a tour guide, and (2) losers who booked a last-minute trip to Rome with cheap EasyJet tickets, only to make up for the savings by paying extortionate prices for Colosseum tickets because the regular ones had sold out.
It is particularly frustrating that tour operators buy up tickets and resell them at an enormous premium, contributing to the very problem that forces visitors to book these overpriced experiences in the first place.
Unfortunately, the experience itself did little to justify the cost. Our tour guide skipped over numerous interesting and historically significant parts of both the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. I genuinely believe I would have had a better visit exploring independently, reading the information boards, and doing a bit of Googling along the way.
Some particularly disappointing omissions included the living quarters and temple of the Vestal Virgins, as well as the history of the Colosseum's rediscovery and restoration. These are fascinating aspects of Roman history that I had hoped a guided tour would help bring to life. Instead, I was left wondering how much else we had missed. As someone who came into the tour without an extensive knowledge of the subject, it was especially frustrating to realise that I was relying on the guide to provide context and insight that simply never materialised.
The guide's delivery and group management were equally disappointing. He was incredibly meek and struggled to keep the group moving at a reasonable pace. What was supposed to be a short bathroom break turned into a wait of over 15 minutes while everyone regrouped, largely because the guide seemed unable to get people moving efficiently.
Group management was further undermined by one participant who repeatedly held everyone up with basic questions that were largely unrelated to the tour's main focus. A good guide should be able to handle questions while keeping the experience engaging and on schedule, but that balance was sorely lacking here.
Ultimately, a tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum should offer meaningful historical insight, highlight the details visitors might otherwise overlook, and make good use of the limited time available at these extraordinary sites. This tour failed on all three counts.

There is some climbing that is required. People should know that. Patience will be required as well as everyone is talking selfies. Also, allow yourself more time than the tour and wander. Do not lose site of all the other things to see.

We could not locate the tour operator at either of the locations that they provided. We weretime for two different start times but unable to go. Do not trust City Wonders, I will never use them again.
