Hands down the best way to spend a day in Athens

Our tour guide was the absolute best. Dionisis is a history major and an archaeologist and is so knowledgeable. He is also a great storyteller, I was mesmerized by what he was teaching us. The pace was never rushed and always on our time. Loved learning all the details about the changing of the guards.

Very enjoyable experience

I really enjoyed this walk. It is possible to access the Acropolis and temples without a guide, but I think you would be missing out on so much knowledge that it would be a shame. We all learnt so much on the walk to the top and the Parthenon and other temples that it enhanced the visit. meeting up and entry was simple, and our guide took us to some great photographic spots. She also left us with free time at the top. If you continue to the Agora this is about 15 to 20 minutes. If you are not going on to the Agora ( we did not) the tour ends and you spend as much time at the top as you wish. I do recommend this tour. Two guides suggested visiting the museum before the visit as many of what you see falls in to place when you visit the Acropolis we visit afterwards and I can see how that would be a much better way to do it, but not essential, as most tours take you to the site first.

Margaret (AKA Margarita) was an AMAZING guide. Her English was perfect. Her knowledge immense and she knew how to make everything fascinating. She was funny and kind and caring. I have told so many people about her. If I return I would ask for her again. She made my visit to the Parthenon something I will always remember. I left feeling in awe of it all. This was a more than 5 star experience. Kudos to Margarita!

We took part in the food walk of Athens the day we arrived and no regrets. Fighting serious fatigue after travelling from PEI, Canada, we found Anna was very engaging, knowledgeable and personable. She is clearly experienced and extremely knowledgeable. We learned a little of the ancient history of the city and a lot of the local cuisine. Excellent tour. A bit over 4 hours with our guide Jordan who really knew his stuff. Lots of walking but with opportunities to sit & rest. Jordan provided detailed commentary on history, culture, and many nuances on the sculpture & art. Very worthwhile; highly recommended.

Worth the long bus drive!! Amazing!

An incredible experience. It is a long trip from Athens but 100 percent worth it. The trip is very well organized with a good number of stops. You can order bunch from the bus and select from a variety of delicious lunch options. Then you can preorder dinner and have it waiting for you on the return trip. The monasteries and views are incredible to see and can’t be missed. 10/10!

Go see the acropolis!

It was a fantastic tour. The guide was wonderful and let us rest and take pictures as needed. The guide told us stories and how and why with history. The museum was fantastic also. The guide explained the architecture of the museum and also why things missing/damaged due to history For future folks: if wanting to visit bottom of museum it closes at 4:30 and the museum top portion at 5:00pm. So book accordingly :)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Acropolis Tour with Yiannis

Our visit to the Acropolis in Athens was absolutely unforgettable, and a huge part of that was thanks to our driver and guide, Yiannis. From the moment he picked us up, everything was smooth, professional, and well organized. But what really set Yiannis apart was his deep knowledge of Greek history and his ability to bring the ancient world to life while we explored the Acropolis. Standing in front of the Parthenon, hearing the stories behind its construction, its destruction, and the incredible restoration efforts underway today made the experience far more meaningful than simply walking through ruins. Yiannis also made sure we didn’t miss the details many visitors overlook — from the elegant Caryatid statues at the Erechtheion to the incredible acoustics and design of the Theater of Dionysus, one of the oldest theaters in the world. What I appreciated most was how he balanced storytelling, historical context, and practical guidance. He knew exactly when to explain, when to let us take in the views of Athens, and when to recommend the best photo spots (which made for some incredible pictures). Yiannis clearly takes pride in sharing the history and culture of Athens, and it shows. If you’re planning to visit the Acropolis and want an experience that goes beyond just seeing the monuments, I highly recommend touring with him.

I have to give the highest regard to our very knowledgeable and respectable guide, Terry! The tour was fully packed with all promised highlights, but with ample time to at least gain an impression and beat the crowds. I am grateful that our guide was also accomodating and reassuring to my family member's walking concerns. The atmosphere was overall enjoyable for us! The lunch option was also very accomodating to our diet and still authentically greek.

I travelled on my own but...

I travelled on my own but on the boat I met many nice people I could talk to. The crew was nice, helpful and good fun. Unfortunately the season had ended on Agistri so there wasn't much to be done (no fault of the organizer). The provided food and beverages were good and I noticed that it was also taken care of special needs. The recomendations for Aegina were very useful. I really enjoyed my time on sea and land.
