- At least 4 people are required for the guided tour options to take place.
- Check-in is 15 minutes prior to the booked start time. Tickets are time sensitive and we cannot accomodate late arrivals.
- Guests with a certified disability of over 75% are entitled to free entrance to the Vatican and do not require a ticket. For guests who are not self-sufficient, free entry is extended to a companion.
- Important: St. Peter's Basilica is not included in all tour options. If you wish to visit the Basilica as part of your experience, please ensure you select a tour where it is explicitly listed as included.
- Please include all names as they appear on your passports when booking. Tickets are non-transferable and if the names on your booking do not match your ID you may be denied access and will not be due a refund. Any name changes must be communicated at least 72 hours in advance.
- Please bring an ID or a photo/copy of ID.
- Important: The ‘Basilica Only’ option it does NOT include access to the Vatican Museums.

I have always had good luck with Viator tours. . This one was terrible.
The guide was sloppy and inefficient. He used the f- word, presumably to make a point. After an hour and 15 minutes, we were still looking at a random statue outside, missing 95% of the walk through the museum. I finally left and found the Sistine Chapel on my own.
I requested 50% of my money back, but on second thought I should have requested all of it.

The tour was amazing, it truly was an experience, and for 3 hours I felt like I was back in time. Our guide Catalina was exceptionally knowledgeable and answered our thousand questions with joy and a smile.

This tour was absolutely worth it. The Vatican Museums are enormous, and having a knowledgeable guide made the experience so much more meaningful. The skip-the-line access saved us a lot of time and allowed us to focus on enjoying the incredible art and history.
Our guide was engaging, informative, and did an excellent job explaining the significance of the museums, Raphael's Rooms, the Gallery of Maps, and, of course, the breathtaking Sistine Chapel. Being able to enter St. Peter's Basilica directly from the Sistine Chapel without waiting in another long line was a huge advantage.
This was one of the highlights of our time in Rome. If you want to truly appreciate the Vatican without feeling overwhelmed, I highly recommend this tour.

We paid to see more than the museum and the tour guide that’s all it showed us. We paid for skip the line tickets and we had to wait in line for almost 2 hours. We understand it was busy, but why charge for a service if we had to wait with everyone else who didn’t pay extra to enter the museum.
The tour guide never mentioned the Sistine Chapel or anything else to see. Again, we paid for a service we didn’t get. Now, our daughter and her fiancé have a scheduled trip to Rome this coming August and asked us about our experience with the tours, needles to say, we had to tell them about this disappointing tour. We do not recommend.

However, we would like to clarify a few points:
First and foremost, you were not waiting in the general admission line. As a guided tour participant, you used the dedicated entrance reserved for guided groups. The short wait before entering was solely to pass through the mandatory security screening, which every visitor must complete. This allowed you to avoid the general admission queue, where visitors often wait for several hours during busy periods.
Secondly, the Sistine Chapel is part of the Vatican Museums. Therefore, it is not physically possible to complete the guided tour of the Vatican Museums without visiting the Sistine Chapel. In addition, because silence is required inside the Chapel as it is a sacred place, our guides always provide a detailed explanation before entering. This explanation typically lasts around 30 minutes, allowing guests to fully appreciate the artwork once inside.
For this reason, we believe there may have been some misunderstanding. It is possible that you are referring to St. Peter's Basilica, which is a separate venue from the Vatican Museums. According to our records, you booked a 2:30 PM tour, which does not include the direct passage to the Basilica with us. Direct access through the Museums is available only for selected tours operating between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM, excluding Wednesdays, and is always subject to availability.
Should you still wish to visit St. Peter's Basilica, admission is free via St. Peter's Square, by joining the general entrance line and passing through the mandatory security check.

The tour guide was excellent! The experience itself was not good. The number of tours let in at one time is excessive. The experience was ridiculously over crowded and impossible to enjoy. I would not buy any Vatican tour again for this reason. It was very expensive, very overcrowded, very noisy and very hot. This is NOT the fault of the tour company. They were lovely. It is the result of over selling the experience, all together.

Excellent tour from start to finish. The skip-the-line access saved a huge amount of time, and our guide was fantastic—knowledgeable, organised, and genuinely passionate about the Vatican’s history. We never felt rushed, had plenty of opportunities to see the major highlights, and learned far more than we would have on our own. Worth every euro and highly recommended.

At the beginning of the tour when we received the whispers it didn’t fit on my ear and my tour guides reply was you have a small ear and continued on. I had to hold it up to my ear for the 3 hour tour which was tiring and hot after awhile so I barely was able to listen. When entering the tour, the guide was a bit aggressive in their communication towards a tourist who seems confused about the line (there was no signs of where to line up so I probably would’ve done the same thing as the tourist) so it started off the tour on an uncomfortable note. The tour guide visibly saw that my ear piece didn’t fit and I was actively trying to fix it on the tour and didn’t stop to help or anything or give a better alternative. I’ve been on 10000 of tours and never had this happen. Very frustrating paying for something that I couldn’t even hear I could’ve done it for free myself. Very unfortunate

Our guide, Elena, brought her at history background to a truly special tour of the Vatican. We learned about the art and the artists with both detail and humor. Elena's English is amazing but her joy of sharing the art is what made the tour so memorable. Only downside was the name of the tour made it sound like the basilica was included - but it wasn't. Still gave it five stars because we felt that our trip through the Vatican museum and the Sistine chapel was so good.

The meeting provided by Viator was incorrect. My wife and I arrived early but the meeting point was incorrect. Thankfully after contacting EcoArt they gave the correct meeting point. The marketing of this tour is poor. The marketing says it includes the basilica but when you read the fine print it says it does not include the basilica. We thought we were booking a tour for the Vatican, Sistine chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica.

Rip off- didn’t get the tour we paid for. Booked three areas Vatican system Chapel and Basilica. Instead got a 2 1/2 hour tour of the Vatican. Don’t think this place is organized and was frustrating.

Giuseppe was such an excellent tour guide. Informative and not overbearing at all. He calmly lead us through the absolute zoo of crowds. We had the 8:30am time slot and getting through the line and security took maybe 15-20 mins max. Giuseppe provided such interesting and subtle context to all of the artwork and architecture. This was our last tour on our Italy trip and I’m so thankful it was such a wonderful and positive experience!!!!

This is probably the best tour that we had in our two week vacation in Italy. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. Since this is just a two hour tour, you can only see the highlights. It was one of the more expensive tours that we took, but it was worth it.

Terrible tour. Do not recommend! Wasted 10 minutes waiting for a family with kids getting drinks. Wasted 45 minutes in the courtyard looking at pictures of what we were doing to see. Then rushed thru to actually see it. The title was misleading that the Basilica was included when it was a add on that actually wasn’t available

For this reason, many guides use visual aids and reproductions to explain the artwork in advance, as there is no opportunity to do so inside the Chapel itself.
We would also like to clarify that you booked the guided tour of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel without access to St. Peter's Basilica.
The title displayed online is the general title used across multiple tour options. Basilica access is included only on selected tours operating between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM, excluding Wednesdays, and remains subject to availability. The inclusions of each specific option are detailed during the booking process and on the booking confirmation.
Should you still wish to visit St. Peter's Basilica, access remains free through St. Peter's Square by joining the public entrance line and passing through the mandatory security checks.

We booked a semi-private tour of Vatican museums and entrance to St Peter. Finding our group was easy, and instructions in the email were clear and accurate. Our guide was Lorelai; she was excellent, kind, patient, and knowledgeable, and she made every effort to let us know what to expect while traversing from one room to the next. She was great.
Other than that, be prepared for big crowds (we visited early June), wear close-toed shows to avoid being stepped on, and know what to look for in the museums. A must experience, but you may want to book weeks (if not months) in advance, to get a good price for the day/time slot you want.
