Your tour begins at an office location around the corner from the Vatican entrance. Meet your guide and the rest of your group (up to 12 people).
Head over to the Vatican Museums and breeze right past the crowds at the door: Tours include skip-the-line admission tickets. The collections are vast, but your guide directs you to the main highlights, including the Gallery of Maps.
During the roughly 90-minute visit, hear about the collection of artworks and the Vatican’s papal history.
From there, head to the Vatican's star attraction: the Sistine Chapel. Before heading inside, listen to your guide explain the intricacies of Michelangelo’s famous fresco.
The last stop is St. Peter’s Basilica to see Michelangelo’s "La Pietà" and Bernini’s massive gilded baldachin. Tours end inside the basilica’s stunning interior, leaving you free to continue your visit.

- St. Peter's Basilica is an active parish and therefore subject to last-minute closures due to mass or other religious events. In these cases, we will offer an extended tour of the Vatican Museums (including areas normally not part of the tour). No refunds are issued for unexpected closures.
- All participants (including under 18s) must bring valid ID.
- All participants MUST cover their knees and shoulders during visits to religious sites, the Vatican Museums included. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements.
- Please notice that we are not responsible for the number of visitors the Vatican Museums allow inside.
- Large umbrellas are not allowed, please leave these at your accommodations.
- Your tour voucher is valid only for the day and time reserved. We’re unable to accommodate late arrivals due to a strictly timed entrance ticket to the Vatican Museums. Missed tours or tickets due to late arrivals are non-refundable. Changes cannot be made less that 24 hours before the activity starts. Please allow extra time to reach the meeting point as Rome's streets can be confusing. Meeting time is 15 minutes before the start time of the tour.
- ACCESSIBILITY: While the Vatican Museums are equipped with elevators for wheelchair access, they are not conveniently located on the group tour route and only give access to specific sections of the Museums. As a result, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs or walkers on this tour. If you have any kind of disability and a certificate to prove it, please let us know in advance, as you might be eligible for free entry.
- Passport/ID : Due to Vatican security regulations, we strongly recommend you bring a picture of your ID document with you for all participants, in case the Vatican guards check.

Wonderful tour with Carlotta! Very informative and interesting information. Sistine Chapel was certainly a highlight, but worth seeing all the things to take in the full picture.
10 out of 10. The small group tour is the way to go. We wished the tour was longer because there is too much to take in. We also go hand out on this tour to follow along with during the actual tour. Not all tours give out handout to keep or they’re quality is lower.

Maria was a great guide! She knew the best shaded places to stop and teach before we were overwhelmed with beauty. We had a fantastic tour with Yanira on Monday 7 September 2026. Great knowledge of the subject matter and we saw round the Vatican, St Peter's and best of all the Sistine Chapel. We had 20 minutes in the Chapel which was magic.
It's always difficult to choose which tour to opt for but I highly recommend this one. Our guide Mario was proficient and shared insights that really brought everything to life for us. The group was not too big, and though we would have loved to have longer in the museum rooms, there's only so much your legs and brains can take(!) so all in all we found this tour to be well-paced. We didn't know we had to cover our shoulders and knees, it wasn't stipulated in the booking. We had shorts and a short sleeve shirt on.

As clearly stated prior to booking the tour, the Vatican Museums have specific dress-code rules and regulations that must be followed. As a courtesy, we also sent you a reminder the day before your visit regarding these requirements.
Furthermore, we personally advised you before entering (at the meeting point) that you would need to purchase a small scarf to comply with the dress code. Unfortunately, you left without purchasing one and, subsequently, did not join the tour.
We always do our best to inform our guests in advance and assist them in meeting the Vatican Museums’ requirements so that they can enjoy the experience without any inconvenience.
This was an amazing tour! Small group of ten people. Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable. Highly recommend.

For Celebrity Cruise people - the absolute earliest to schedule this is 10:00am and that’s cutting it close, my recommendation is 10:30am or later. For the tour itself, I can’t imagine going through these buildings without a tour guide. There’s so much to see it’s overwhelming at times. The guide was very informative and kept us together and on-time.

In September really hot and constant walking for 3 1/2 hours with no resting points/bathroom/or drink breaks. Totally wiped when over. At the very beginning treated a sick guest with excellent care.

Unfortunately, neither our company nor our tour guide has any control over the weather. We can organize the tour, provide a professional guide, and offer the best possible service, but we cannot control the temperature in Rome.
We are genuinely sorry you felt unwell due to the heat, but attributing unusually hot weather to the quality of a tour seems rather unfair.

This tour takes you through the highlights of visiting the Vatican. There is a lot to see, so the tour takes a full 3 hours and a fair amount of walking. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water. Our guide was excellent, and you really need a guide to appreciate what you are seeing.

The Vatican Museums currently do not have AC units installed, and with the sheer amount of visitors it welcomes, the heat does get quite overbearing. Having a fan is a definite plus; additionally, our guides always aim to find shaded areas so the experience is as comfortable as possible for guests.
The tour is indeed a 3-hour walking tour, so there is a lot of walking involved; however, the pace is more of a stroll so guests can truly appreciate the works on display!
