Itinerary

Your tour begins at an office location around the corner from the Vatican entrance. Meet your guide and the rest of your group (up to 12 people).

Head over to the Vatican Museums and breeze right past the crowds at the door: Tours include skip-the-line admission tickets. The collections are vast, but your guide will direct you to the main highlights, including the Gallery of Map.

The guide will explain the artworks and the Vatican’s papal history during the 90-minute visit. Headsets are provided, so you’ll be able to move around freely.

From there, head to the Vatican's star attraction: the Sistine Chapel. Listen to your guide explain the intricacies of Michelangelo’s famous fresco.

Last stop is St. Peter’s Basilica, where you’ll see Michelangelo’s *La Pietà* and Bernini’s massive gilded baldachin. Tours end inside the basilica’s stunning interior, leaving you free to continue your visit.

St. Peter's Basilica is an active parish and therefore subject to last-minute closures due to mass or other religious events. In these cases, we will offer an extended tour of the Vatican Museums (including areas normally not part of the tour). No refunds are issued for unexpected closures.
All participants (including under 18s) must bring valid ID.

All participants MUST cover their knees and shoulders during visits to religious sites, the Vatican Museums included. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements.
Please notice that we are not responsible for the number of visitors the Vatican Museums allow inside.
Large umbrellas are not allowed, please leave these at your accommodations.
We recommend you bring your own headphones as the ones provided by the Vatican have a single earpiece only, and you may prefer to use both earbuds to hear the guide better.
Your tour voucher is valid only for the day and time reserved. We’re unable to accommodate late arrivals due to a strictly timed entrance ticket to the Vatican Museums. Missed tours or tickets due to late arrivals are non-refundable. Please allow extra time to reach the meeting point as Rome's streets can be confusing. Meeting time is 15 minutes before the start time of the tour.
ACCESSIBILITY: While the Vatican Museums are equipped with elevators for wheelchair access, they are not conveniently located on the group tour route and only give access to specific sections of the Museums. As a result, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs or walkers on this tour.

I visited the Vatican in April 2026 and had an incredible experience. The tour was led by a highly knowledgeable guide who provided detailed insights into the history and significance of the Vatican’s treasures. My favorite part of the visit was exploring St. Peter’s Basilica—its grandeur and intricate design left me in awe. The guide’s explanations made the art and architecture come alive, enriching the entire experience. Overall, I would rate my visit 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend a guided tour to anyone visiting the Vatican.

Great tour with smaller group and the tour guide took their time as well and didn't rush through everything. So much to see and they did a wonderful job of pointing out important and interesting pieces. It was excellent having this tour as well because it skipped the line to get into the museums but then also the Basilica.

Very disappointing tour of a fabulous museum

Very disappointing. The Vatican Museum is one of the best in the World and this tour does not provide what it offered. This was not my first time and I wanted to share some of its marvels with my grandkids. We were only 10 people in the tour, 6 of them were my family. The guide was more interested in showing us where the bathrooms were than anything else. we spent a lot of time watching a model of the Vatican, and pictures of the Sistine Chapel from his prints while sitting at the terrace, that inside the museum. We stood next to the marvelous stairway and he did not even pointed at it. We did not pass by the Raphael Hall, only the Sistine Chapel was in his schedule and we were allowed only 10 minutes there. He kept making gossip comments about the Borgias, the money, and the popes mistresses, I thought were inappropriate and really stupid in front of kids. Even when entering Saint Peter's Church, he made comments on the face of the Virgin at the Pieta, criticising Michel Angelo for showing her a young woman...I was very unhappy with this tour in general. Very expensive tour for what you get.

My advice is to give yourself plenty of time to get to the meeting place. My other advice is if you want a great experience with a knowledgable, interesting and engaging guide then ask to be with Cinzia. She was fantastic, 3 hours was not enough! Grazie Cinzia! Quick trip through everything but the guide, Jad, was an expert at navigating through the crowds as well as all the buildings! I would’ve liked to stay longer at some places but honestly, overall it was the right amount of time to hit the highlights. A must do for first time Vatican visitors!

This is by far the best way to experience the Vatican if you’ve never been and want to get it done in a few hours and be able to explore in St. Peters Basilica / square after the tour ends. We were given 10 minutes to soak in the Sistine Chapel after walking though the museum, I could have been there for an hour and it wouldn’t have been enough. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and was even born in the Vatican hospital, so he’s a local with a wealth of knowledge. Highly recommend this tour and always use skip-the-line packages.
