Your tour begins at an office location around the corner from the Vatican entrance. Meet your guide and the rest of your group (up to 12 people).
Head over to the Vatican Museums and breeze right past the crowds at the door: Tours include skip-the-line admission tickets. The collections are vast, but your guide directs you to the main highlights, including the Gallery of Maps.
During the roughly 90-minute visit, hear about the collection of artworks and the Vatican’s papal history.
From there, head to the Vatican's star attraction: the Sistine Chapel. Before heading inside, listen to your guide explain the intricacies of Michelangelo’s famous fresco.
The last stop is St. Peter’s Basilica to see Michelangelo’s "La Pietà" and Bernini’s massive gilded baldachin. Tours end inside the basilica’s stunning interior, leaving you free to continue your visit.

- MEETING POINT IS VIA SANTAMAURA 14b, What A Life Tours
- St. Peter's Basilica is an active parish and therefore subject to last-minute closures due to mass or other religious events. In these cases, we will offer an extended tour of the Vatican Museums (including areas normally not part of the tour). No refunds are issued for unexpected closures.
- All participants (including under 18s) must bring valid ID.
- All participants MUST cover their knees and shoulders during visits to religious sites, the Vatican Museums included. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements.
- Please notice that we are not responsible for the number of visitors the Vatican Museums allow inside.
- Large umbrellas are not allowed, please leave these at your accommodations.
- Your tour voucher is valid only for the day and time reserved. We’re unable to accommodate late arrivals due to a strictly timed entrance ticket to the Vatican Museums. Missed tours or tickets due to late arrivals are non-refundable. Please allow extra time to reach the meeting point as Rome's streets can be confusing. Meeting time is 15 minutes before the start time of the tour.
- ACCESSIBILITY: While the Vatican Museums are equipped with elevators for wheelchair access, they are not conveniently located on the group tour route and only give access to specific sections of the Museums. As a result, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs or walkers on this tour.
- Passport/ID : Due to Vatican security regulations, we strongly recommend you bring a picture of your ID document with you for all participants, in case the Vatican guards check.
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 12 travelers

The tour was very well structured from booking to the final steps of the tour. Our guide,Mario was amazing. He clearly has a love for the history of the Sistine chapel and Bascillica. He made the trip fun and informative. The weather was hot and he paced the tour giving time for water breaks.

We were nt in lare August and it was very hot and uncomfortable. Far too many statues in Vatican museum.. Got monotonous. Sistine Chapel is magnificent! You won't be able to comprehend how Michelangelo wa able to create such a masterpiece. Also, be prepared to be blown away by Saint Peter's Basilica. It is truly magnificent! What made the tour so great was our outstanding tour guide, Gianni.

Very good tour. Saw all that was stated in the description. However, we felt that too much time was spent waiting to go into the Vatican museums as the tour guide talked so much about the Sistine Chapel. That time would have been spent better seeing more of the museum. Otherwise it was an excellent tour.

The Sistine Chapel is recognised as a consecrated sacred space and, as such, the Vatican rule states that no talking is allowed inside. Therefore, guides take the opportunity to explain the Sistine Chapel before arriving, so when guests are present in the Chapel, they can 1. get the visuals and get a better understanding of what their guide explained, and it also allows the guests and guides to be better able to adhere to the rule.

Ennio was a wonderful tour guide today for our tour. Skip the line is the way to go. He was so informative. It was a wonderful experience. Just an FYI: if you buy anything at the Vatican Museum after you leave St. Peter’s Basilica and want to have it blessed by a priest you have to go stand in the line to get back into the Basilica (which is free). It was a long line but moved quickly.

Our guide Elisabetta was very knowledgeable. She also was very aware of keeping the group together, when outside, she made sure we were in the shade and pointed out places to refill water. This was very important given the heat. Overall, we really enjoyed our tour.

Our tour guide Valentine was wonderful. Very kind, knowledgeable and cheerful.
The Vatican does very poorly accommodating special needs, disabled people but that’s not the fault of Valentine.

As advertised, while the Vatican Museums are equipped with elevators for wheelchair access, they are not conveniently located on the group tour route and only provide access to specific sections of the Museums rather than all the museums. Furthermore, they don't allow any mobility devices to be used on the stairs from the Sistine Chapel to the Basilica for safety reasons; therefore, the group tour cannot accommodate wheelchairs or walkers.
An option that could be ideal for individuals with mobility devices is our private tour, as it allows tailoring and guests to use said devices.

The skip-the-line feature definitely comes in handy on those extremely busy days at the Vatican, which is oftentimes the case. It allows our clients to have more time exploring inside the walls, versus queuing outside admiring them.

Emma was a great tour guide. She provided lots of information and provided appropriate direction. There was just so much to see, and no way to truly take it all in within the time of the tour. It was good for a first time visitor.

The Vatican Museums are vast and are home to about 70,000 works, with approximately 20,000 on display at any given time. The collection is vast and could easily take over a week to fully explore all the works! Best tour guide we’ve had in a long time. I’m kicking myself for not remembering her name, because she was fantastic. She was engaging, her visual aids were spot‑on, and she highlighted all the best parts of the Vatican. I even learned new things about the Sistine Chapel. She kept our group together and moved us smoothly through the crowds, which is no small feat. I thought the tour might feel long, but it was so interesting that the time flew by. A great guide truly makes all the difference, thank you for a wonderful experience!
