What are people saying about Assisi

Alessandra, our guide,...
Alessandra, our guide, was terrific. She is very knowledgeable and personable. We learned a lot about the churches, St. Francis (of course), Santa Chiara, architecture, history, arts and the culture of Assisi. She showed us wonderful frescos of Giotto and explained the artist’s biography. The 2.5 hours went by too quickly!

Should have been messaged
Our tour guide was the best possible. My only complaint is that I paid to see St Francis Basilica and it was prohibited due to the body of St Francis being shown. This should have been communicated by message well in advance so I could look at options and not be let down. Our guide showed us everything else and this is not her fault. But I did not get what I paid for.

An informative and lovely tour with Michele
Michele was a wonderful guide full of knowledge of Assisi and the surrounding Umbrian region. He customised the tour to our preferences given it was just my family of 4 attending. He provided the life and history of St. Francis and other figures important to the area. We highly recommend the tour and Michele specifically as he is really a great guide and lovely man.

We had a wonderful experience on the Assisi tour. The town is absolutely beautiful, and the tour was very well organized. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging, sharing meaningful historical and cultural insights that truly brought Assisi to life. We especially appreciated walking from the upper part of Assisi down to the lower town, which made the experience much easier and more enjoyable as we were traveling with a senior. Highly recommend!

Excellent Experience!
My wife and I had an excellent time learning how to make authentic pasta and tiramisu with Eleanora in Assisi! Despite a bit of a language barrier, she was a thorough and patient teacher, and we had a lot of fun with her. It ended up just being the two of us who signed up, so it was a very intimate experience. A word of caution, however - just make sure you check in with your host about expectations and dietary preferences before you arrive. We interpreted "food allergies" too strictly and did not write that my wife is a vegetarian, and so she was unable to eat the pre-prepared ravioli stuffing. Eleanora told us that if she had known, she would have just made a cheese filling instead of meat. That was totally on us. The other mix-up was that there seemed to be a miscommunication between Viator and whatever system Eleanora was using. The description for the class I signed up for explicitly said "pasta AND tiramisu" class, but Eleanora's description only said pasta. She was confused, but she wanted us to be happy, so she scrambled and was able to cobble together a delicious tiramisu for us to take back to our hotel for later. We even got to taken some of our pasta home with us!

Exceptional tour
Begonia was wonderful! She gave us very detailed information on the Basilica as well as on Carlo Acuitis. She was very knowledgeable & let us have time to spend at St. Francis’ tomb & Carlo Acuitis’ tomb.
Begonia also gave us information on some shops, bathroom locations & getting a taxi.

Tili tantalizing tour of wine, oil, aged balsamic vinegar tasting.
Getting picked up by one of the tour guides who drives you to the vineyard and explains things along the way is an excellent experience. The exploration of the organic wine making process along with seeing of the process is a memorable way of learning.
After seeing and learning about the processing of the grapes and olives it was delightful to sit down with some family members and have them pour wine, olive oil and taste them along with some charcuterie.
The aged balsamic vinegar tasting and explanation tops off the whole experience in a comfortable setting.

Extraordinary tour....
Extraordinary tour. Eduardo was professional, patient, and knowledgeable; making the experience more than we had hoped. We met him right at the parking lot, so it was easy as well. Then he took us through the town pointing out interesting facets of history, architecture, culture, and religion. He quickly realized where our focus was and concentrated more heavily on that aspect. He was able to direct us to avoid crowds and gave us appropriate time to enjoy the churches. It seemed he knew everyone in Assisi and was well respected. It was wonderful to get to know him personally. It was a very powerful day and we are grateful to have had his guidance. We would highly recommend!

Great Experience
This was a really excellent location to have a wine tasting. The views were amazing. The hosts and sommelier were very knowledgeable, very friendly. The views were unbelievable and the property itself was lovely. I would highly recommend this for a couple or a group of friends.

Our guide, Samuele, was...
Our guide, Samuele, was great and shared so much information, not only about truffles (types, how and where they grow), but also about the area around Assisi and beyond. His dog is still in training, but successfully found a truffle. It was a pleasure to walk in the beautiful hills of Umbria with a local and his pup!

Excellent Tour of the Basilica di San Francesco
The Basilica is quite a way up from the lower town and is then on two levels plus the stairs down to the crypt. My husband was in a wheelchair, and everyone from the tour guide, the guards, the police were helpful in getting him from place to place. Our tour guide, Francesca, was EXTREMELY knowledgable about the history of Umbria, the town of Assisi, the Basilica, and the life of St. Frances. I would hire her again in a heartbeat for any tour. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Truffle hunting with Dog and Maurizio
Maurizio our guide was so sweet and the dog was happy searching for truffles. He would sniff and start to dig then we were shown how to dig them up! You do go up and down the hillside, and our guide was helpful to assure we didn’t slip. The country side views were stunning. I really enjoyed the experience.
