Vatican and Sistine Chapel tour.
Doriana was the best tour guide to the Vatican and Sistine Chapel! She made sure we entered quickly and started the tour after a short restroom break. She was so informative the entire time. She was always pointing out important features or sharing stories along the way. She also took her time to answer our questions. She always made sure our group stayed together and pointed out places to sit if needed. I highly recommend you take a tour with Doriana.

Fantastic Vatican Tour—Expertly Guided
This tour was fantastic, and our guide Massimo truly made it. He was incredibly knowledgeable, very friendly, and had a great sense of humor. He navigated us through the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s with impressive efficiency. It honestly felt like he knew everyone along the way. Despite the crowds, everything felt smooth and well-paced. His enthusiasm and storytelling made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommend!

An excellent small group tour.
A great small group tour of The Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St Peters. Guide Ricardo did a great job and made the whole trip very interesting. Only 8 in our group compared with some very large group elsewhere.

Great tour and guide
Mario was a great tour guide…very knowledgeable, funny, and he took the time to learn everyone’s names. Length of tour felt slightly too short and it would have been nice to go a bit more slowly through the galleries before the Sistine Chapel without losing time elsewhere. All in all, highly recommend this tour and Mario!

The tour was great. Be warned it’s a lot of walking, but the art is simple breathtaking. The gallery of maps was so beautiful. And the Sistine chapel can’t not be missed.

Great tour of the Vatican
Great tour!!
Our guide was knowledgeable, kept a great pace, and we were able to see everything notable at the Vatican. The balance between the guided part and the ability to explore on our own a bit was perfect.
We visited the Vatican Museum, the gardens, the Sistine Chapel, and St Peter’s Basilica and Square.
Highly recommend!

Skip the line tour worth it
Excellent guide, he spent a lot of time prepping us for what we were goung to see. I appreciated that. It isn't a quick tour and there aren't opportunities to sit down, so be prepared. You spend 15 minutes in the Sistine chapel which was magical and this time of year there weren't any crowds in St Peter's.

People Also Ask
Do I need to book tickets to visit the Sistine Chapel?
Yes. The Sistine Chapel is part of Rome’s Vatican Museums and to visit it, you need to book either an admission ticket or a tour of the museums in advance. Arriving on the day of your visit and waiting in line for entry tickets is impossible.
Do Sistine Chapel tickets sell out?
Yes. The Sistine Chapel is one of Rome’s top attractions, so admission tickets to the Vatican Museums—which include access to the chapel—sell out fast. If you can’t get admission tickets for a self-guided visit on your chosen day, try booking a tour that includes admission instead.
Where is the entrance to the Sistine Chapel?
You can’t enter the Sistine Chapel directly as there’s no exterior entrance—you can only reach it indirectly via the Vatican Museums’ entrance at Viale Vaticano, on the northern edge of Vatican City. After going through this entrance, follow the signposted one-way walking route through the museums’ galleries, which leads to the chapel.
Is the Sistine Chapel worth visiting?
Yes, visiting the Sistine Chapel is worth it—it’s one of the world’s greatest artistic and religious treasures. The chapel boasts magnificent Renaissance artworks, the finest being Michelangelo’s early 16th-century ceiling frescoes of biblical scenes. His central, iconic image, The Creation of Adam, is universally acknowledged as a masterpiece.
How long does it take to walk through the Sistine Chapel?
Measuring 131 feet (40 meters) by 46 feet (14 meters), the Sistine Chapel is roughly the size of two tennis courts placed end-to-end—so walking through doesn’t take long. As it’s usually crowded, most people find that 15-20 minutes is enough time to admire its stunning interior.
What is the best time to visit the Sistine Chapel?
The Sistine Chapel is busiest from late morning to early afternoon, on Saturdays, public holidays, and from early spring through fall. For thinner crowds, aim for early morning or mid-afternoon or visit from November through March, except on Easter and Christmas. Alternatively, consider early-access or after-hours tours for the least amount of other visitors.
