Next, comes a church that’s off the usual tourist trail. The Basilica dei Santi Silvestro e Martino ai Monti sits on top of ancient Roman ruins, and a look inside reveals layers of religious history. After admiring Baroque-era frescoes, an underground early Christian chapel, and more, your tour ends back at Piazza Barberini or by the Basilica of San Nicola in Carcere.

Excellent tour with Emiliano. He shared a lot of great information about the crypts and catacombs that I didn’t know before we went! We had to take several driving detours due to demonstrations, so we didn’t make it to the Basilica, but we still had an amazing time! I would highly recommend.

Very interesting tour. Our guide Emiliano was great and full of interesting historical tidbits in addition to the usual historical info. I really enjoyed it even the crypto of the Capuchin monks and their bone decorations.

Very interesting tour! I especially liked the catacombs. Spanning over several centuries, and consisting of several layers, with the deepest layers being the most recent.

This was a really fun experience. Arrived when advised and had to wait in the sun for about 15 minutes. Guides did arrive a little before scheduled start time, and then it was quick and efficient. Audio guide through the crypts with great history and insight. After a short 5 min walk to a bus for a trip to the catacombs. I do NOT recommend this for people who struggle with stairs or have mobility issues. It was very difficult for my mother in law with mobility problems.

I would highly recommend Viator Tours. Our flight got delayed by 23 hours and we were going to miss our Tour. When I contacted Viator to reschedule, they worked hard to get us in the day we arrived in Rome. Even though there was a fee to change our reservation, we didn't miss it! We also enjoyed the Tour, itself!

Maryam is probably the best guide I’ve had. She knows a lot of information but also has a sense of humor and knows how to speak to large groups of people! This experience lasted about 3 hours and was great on its own but she took it to the next level. The bus transfers were also really nice and smooth! I definitely recommend!

Ion was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. My family very much enjoyed this tour where we got to see crypts, catacombs, and even tour a basilica. This was a good value for the money. Added bonus for this tour was the reprieve from the heat. The catacombs were delightfully cool, the bus was air conditioned, and the crypts were comfortable

It was a very interesting and enjoyable tour although we wished headphones and voice boxes were used. Anything said on the street was drowned out by the traffic noise and sirens. If you did not crowed around the guide, you could not hear him. The sites were fascinating and educational. Please note: there are a lot of steps at the catacombs and no elevator.

It is very chaotic and not organized. Hardly got to spend anytime at the museum. We also got stuck in traffic that was beyond our control and the tour company was not helpful at all. Basically said it was our fault For not leaving earlier and if we wanted to reschedule it would be $160 euro. Just a very frustrating situation. But the catacombs were very interesting.
