Lots of history, art, walking, but no FOOD!

Michelle_O, Jul 2021
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and explained a lot of history of San Francisco, the meanings behind the murals and the Mission neighborhood. We felt the title of the tour a bit misleading as it states “Mission District Art & FOOD walking Tour”. We saw the Mission District, did plenty of walking and a few restaurants were pointed out along the way, but we were expecting some type of food sampling’s. Nothing huge, but maybe a taquito from one of the several Taquerias we passed, a quarter of a cookie sample from a bakery or a piece of chocolate. If you don’t want to coordinate with a couple of the restaurants then you should remove the FOOD from the tour title. Simply state “Mission District History & Art Walking Tour” that way it won’t be misleading. Our tour guide Elliot was fantastic! He earned the 5 star rating.

Good suggestion. There are plenty of delicious opportunities to sample Mission chocolates, cookies, ice cream and burritos on the tour but not knowing what people are in the mood for, they are not included in the tour price. We'll consider the name change and pass your kind words on to Elliot.

Eclectic and eccentric

Enjoyed the Basilica and Church of San Francisco de Asis. Also liked browsing some of the eclectic shops in the area. And, of course, the plethora of intriguing, beautiful, and/or disturbing murals! I liked the alleys, and the residential areas a great deal.
