Muir Woods National Monument is a must-see destination on any visit to the San Francisco Bay Area. Just a short drive across the Golden Gate Bridge, the protected nature reserve is home to one of the world’s last remaining coastal redwood forests.
Choose from a morning or afternoon departure and make your way to the meeting point in Union Square or Fisherman's Wharf. Stop at a vista point for a fantastic perspective of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, and wind through the rolling hills of the Marin Headlands to arrive at Muir Woods. Stroll along forest paths surrounded by the giant redwood trees.
If you've opted to add a bike ride, meet in Fisherman's Wharf. You'll ride from San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito before taking the bus to Muir Woods.
After Muir Woods, take a short drive to the artistic bayside village of Sausalito. Capture photos of the San Francisco skyline during a stroll along the waterfront, pop into one of the many art galleries and grab a cappuccino or ice cream at a café (own expense).

Our bus driver/guide shared some interesting stories and facts about the city and its history! We teally enjoyed Muir Woods and our guide gave us great suggestions on routes we might follow in the park! Muir Woods did not disappoint!! We opted to stay in Sausalito for a long lunch and wander around so we chose to ride the ferret back to SF! It was a wonderful trip and I highly recommend

Perfect description of the trip. Muir Woods is absolutely spectacular. The bus driver was the narrator. Great narration. The boat ride back was worth the upgrade on the bay. Short boat ride, 30 minutes

Be prepared for amazing sights and a crazy ride up and down the hills. This was truly a fantastic day. The redwoods are simply impressive and so fun to use your pano setting on your phone for amazing shots. The bus ride is informative on many things about the area. The bus ride is wild as hell taking curves on a road that is barely enough for two cars , let alone a tour bus. Sausalito is cute town with some nice eateries. We took the ferry home for some more photo ops and enjoyed that as well.

Well worth a visit. The driver was knowledgeable and funny. Muir woods is just stunning. We stayed in Sausalito longer and grabbed a ferry back which was super easy to do.

Driver , I think his name was Joe picked us up promptly, he was informative and made the drive safe and comfortable. The winding roads drive up to Muir Woods was very beautiful ! Muir Woods was definitely an experience after the guided path walk we then loaded up to head to Sausalito which we had enough time for a quick walk and quick lunch before we boarded . All in all for me the entire experience was exciting and fun .

way too winding road. no rest from the tour narrator. even on the way back he did not stop talking at all.

Great trip. Nice to get the full 90 minutes in Muir Woods. A great day out in San Francisco area. I’ve never been to Sausalito before and it was a cute place to get ice cream and go to shops with my teen.

This was a great tour. I didn’t expect the driver to tell us so much about the area and that was a pleasant surprise. We should have booked this earlier in our trip to learn about the area. We had a nice walk in the woods, did a little shopping in Sausalito and had a quick bite to eat there before returning to San Francisco.

This was a wonderful half-day tour and a great way to experience two iconic Bay Area destinations without the stress of driving. Muir Woods was absolutely breathtaking—the giant redwoods are even more impressive in person, and we had plenty of time to explore the peaceful trails. Sausalito was the perfect follow-up with its beautiful waterfront, charming shops, and relaxing atmosphere. The transportation was comfortable, well-organized, and made the entire experience easy and enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting San Francisco!

An amazing trip. Very stunning woods. Just needed to be a full day because there wasn't enough time to really get the full feel of the woods. Needed at least another hour, but a great taste of nature. Sausalito is cool, but mostly for adults. Not enough time there so only got some Gelato, because the wait at the restaurants were a bit of a wait. Definitely recommend it. We had a fantastic guide and so much history we learned along the way.

It’s not just a bus ride to Muir Woods and back. Detailed information about buildings, houses, churches and earthquakes that shaped the area. Surprise stop at Golden Gate Bridge! The stop in Sausalito was too short.

We travel back by ferry but had to pay. I thought it was part of the ticket price. Disappointed with communication on the ticket.

An easy day trip to see something outside of the city. If you love nature, you’ll love this. It includes a short hike, very doable.

This tour was nice but the people you take the tour with can be sketchy. Do not leave anything on the bus even though they say you can. We were literally robbed on the bus and people took our stuff!

What a great experience! Muir Woods is peaceful & beautiful, put on your walking shoes (dirt trail). Bathrooms & gift shop onsite.
Only an hour in Sausalito, we got a quick lunch & ice cream.

Walking up and down the hills in SF is no joke. Nice tour! Would have preferred a more historic tour of SF than 'lunch' in Sausalito.

Driver was wonderful. Informative and entertaining. I felt the price was a bit high for basically a ride to Muir for 1.5hr walk and a drop off at Sausalito. We took the ferry back which was very nice
