Itinerary

After leaving the city of San Francisco in the morning, settle into a luxury coach equipped with air-conditioning. Hear tales of Spanish missionaries and Gold Rush fortune seekers from your guide as you cruise across the Golden Gate Bridge and through the rolling green hills and pastures of Sonoma Valley.

Your first stop could be Roche Winery. Sip different varietals in the tasting plaza and enjoy a walking tour of the Roche family’s vineyards. Sample their latest vintage right from their barrel.

Next, you might enjoy a tasting at Artesa Vineyards & Winery, set amongst the rolling hills.

Indulge your appetite with a stop for lunch (own expense) at Sonoma Square Plaza or Napa Downtown, before continuing on your journey.

Afterwards, head to a leading Napa Valley winery, such as Madonna Estate, to taste a range of premium wines.

Or, if you’ve selected the food and wine tour, visit two wineries for food and wine pairings.

Back on the coach, savor the late afternoon sun on the return drive to San Francisco. Enjoy a quick photo stop at the Golden Gate Bridge before drop-off at Fisherman’s Wharf or Union Square.

Please note: Depending on the day of your tour, the order of the wineries you visit, as well as which wineries you visit, could change depending on availability and other determining factors.

This was a great tour. Our stop took us to Artesa! I cannot say enough good things about this stop. Beautiful location, knowledgeable tour guide and of courses amazing wines! I will say do research on where to grab a bite to eat at Sanoma Square. The last winery was whatever but their wines were delicious. Would highly recommend if you’re in a pinch and want to go to some wineries !

Good except for minor things

Lisa_C, May 2026
Don was calm and sets the rules about being on time, etc, in a friendly manner at the start. He gave good information about the wine industry, the area, and the vineyards without being overly detailed. Only negative is the bus’s dirty trays, which had old coffee stains, the door cracked open while Don was driving, not to mention the big crack across the entire glass above the driver seat! Grayline should clean their buses and fix the broken door and cracked windshield! Finally, the Madonna vineyard is really a tired-looking establishment and should be skipped. The wine wasn’t anything great either.

Response from Host, May 2026

Hi Lisa! Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you appreciated Don’s guiding and commentary, and we take your comments about the vehicle condition and winery selection seriously. We’ll share this with our operations team for review and improvement.

Happy Birthday to Me

Our tour guide George did a great job! He was friendly, knowledgeable and patient. We enjoyed each winery, however, Roche and Actr?(I can’t recall name at the moment) were our top two out of three. We had a beautiful clear day and a smooth ride. 8/10 experience😁

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thank you! Glad you had a great day and enjoyed the wineries—George will appreciate your kind words. Happy you had smooth travels and great weather

Great experience for novice wine enthusiasts!

Karla_T, Apr 2026
We wanted an introductory winery/vineyard tour experience and this outing delivered. Our driver and guide, Danilo, was very friendly and provided some relevant historical tidbits about San Francisco and Sonoma and Napa Valleys. Our first stop was at the vista point at the Golden Gate Bridge for a photo opportunity. We then visited Roche Winery, B.R. Cohn Winery and Madonna Estate. All different…we received some education and history and details of winemaking and tasted many delicious wines. Altogether, we enjoyed it and met some nice people from around the world. We stopped at Sonoma Plaza and had a wonderful Mexican lunch at La Casa. One suggestion would be to bring your own water and snacks. The tour motor coach left around 9:00 am and returned a little after 6:00 pm.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re glad you enjoyed the tour, the wineries, and Danilo’s guidance. We appreciate your tip as well and hope to see you again soon!

Wine Tasting but not Wine Discovery

Peter_J, Mar 2026
Our meeting time on our ticket was 08.40. The coach did not arrive till 09.00. The coach driver was great, very friendly and informative. We went to 3 wineries and having done wine tours in a number of European vineyards, this was nothing like we had experienced previously. The 1st at Jacuzzi was a history lesson on the Jacuzzi family and no explanation on the wines. The wines we did taste were nice but we learnt nothing about them. The next 2 were better with a bit on production methods and terroir/climate etc. in summary if you want to party and have a load of wine this is your trip but if you are interested in learning about wine then maybe not. As said the driver was great and after asking which stop was best to get off for Chinatown, he advised he would drop us off on the way which was over and above.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Hi Peter! Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed our driver’s guidance and friendliness. We appreciate your notes on the wineries and will use them to improve the experience for future guests.

Great experience...

Annalisa_T, Mar 2026
Great experience overall—highly recommend this Napa and Sonoma day trip. One small improvement would be to provide each guest with a water bottle and a light snack (like chips), since there’s a few hours before the lunch stop and staying hydrated is especially important with wine tastings. The first stop (Jacuzzi) and the second (Artesa) were definitely the highlights—both were beautiful and offered a great experience. The third stop (Madonna), however, didn’t quite compare and could be skipped in favor of a stronger winery to round out the day.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re glad you enjoyed Jacuzzi and Artesa and appreciate your suggestions about snacks, water, and the third stop—your feedback helps us improve the experience for future guests.

very nice..on time..lots...

Cathy_H, Mar 2026
very nice..on time..lots of information disappointed in last winery…Madonna…off a busy road..no atmosphere…etc

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Hi Cathy! Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the tour overall and appreciate your comments about Madonna Winery—we’ll keep them in mind to improve the experience.

Had an amazing time at this tour.

Enambir_J, Mar 2026
This was a great way to experience sonoma and Napa valleys. This is perfect if you are hoteling in downtown cos they have a pickup location there (as well as fisherman wharf). It was a comfy bus with abt 20 ppl. Stopped first at a view point of Golden gate for 10 mins. Then an hour drive to winery #1. We went to la Rosche, BR Cohn and maddona for an hour each. And spent about 1.5 hrs at sonoma square for lunch. We travelled with kids 3.5 M and 2 F. The rosche and maddona were very kid friendly. Rosche had the best views with open sitting area with tastings happening in unrestricted outdoorsy environment. They also had the perfect amount of information to share on wine making (not too preachy). Mark led that and was awesome. They were also fairly generous with the variety and quantity of pours. BR cohn had a similar outdoory area but for some reason seated us in a small area near the parking lot for majority of the duration. They were also a bit restrictive. We travelled in march so the vines were just starting to bud out. Not much foliage to see unfortunately. We only glimpsed napa valley (maddona). It seemed nicer than sonoma valley. Tips - no food at any locations. Rosche had some snackers (cheese, pretzels, etc) for purchase. Plan accordingly. Sonama square had a lot of food options. Also a nice play ground for little ones. One the way back- we hopped off at fischerman warf and took a cable car back to union square for the iconic views.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you for such a detailed review! We’re so glad you and your family enjoyed the experience, especially the wineries and Sonoma Square. We appreciate your helpful tips and hope to welcome you again soon

Great for wine lovers (but interesting for non drinkers too)

MissBeverleyJ_C, Feb 2026
The tour includes a stop off at a viewing point for the Golden Gate Bridge. You then visit 2 wineries before the lunch stop in Sonoma. There is a further winery visit after lunch. Each of the wineries had a different vibe, all were small scale operations and all were passionate about their product. Plenty of wine was poured - particularly at the second winery! Sonoma was well worth a visit. We were recommended a really good Mexican restaurant for lunch, I would recommend leaving yourselves enough time for a wander around the square though, it has a real old town ‘Back to the Future’ vibe. A good trip to see the scenery further afield from San Francisco.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Thank you for such a detailed and thoughtful review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the variety of wineries. We appreciate the recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon!

Great day trip from San Francisco.

This wine tour was phenomenal from start to finish! We went as a group to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and it exceeded every expectation. The three wineries were excellent, with generous tastings and beautiful experiences at each stop. Our tour guide, Thomas, was outstanding—professional, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable about the wineries and their history. Everything was perfectly organized. This tour is an absolute must-do and worth every minute. Highly recommend! 🍷✨

Could have been better with another driver

tracybumila, Nov 2025
The tour driver has a lot to be desired as far as her professionalism. We returned two hours late, she came right out and asked for a tip when I asked if she could drive us three blocks up a steep hill, in SF, She wanted a $40 tip plus $10 each person for this task. We also fixed her radio/PA system because of the muffled voice through the system. Tour could have been better but very rude to ask for tips.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and the unprofessional behavior you encountered. This is not the standard we aim to provide, and we’ll be addressing it with our team. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and hope to offer you a much better experience in the future
