Itinerary

After leaving the city of San Francisco in the morning, settle into a luxury coach equipped with air-conditioning. Hear tales of Spanish missionaries and Gold Rush fortune seekers from your guide as you cruise across the Golden Gate Bridge and through the rolling green hills and pastures of Sonoma Valley.

Your first stop could be Roche Winery. Sip different varietals in the tasting plaza and enjoy a walking tour of the Roche family’s vineyards. Sample their latest vintage right from their barrel.

Next, you might enjoy a tasting at Artesa Vineyards & Winery, set amongst the rolling hills.

Indulge your appetite with a stop for lunch (own expense) at Sonoma Square Plaza or Napa Downtown, before continuing on your journey.

Afterwards, head to a leading Napa Valley winery, such as Madonna Estate, to taste a range of premium wines.

Or, if you’ve selected the food and wine tour, visit two wineries for food and wine pairings.

Back on the coach, savor the late afternoon sun on the return drive to San Francisco. Enjoy a quick photo stop at the Golden Gate Bridge before drop-off at Fisherman’s Wharf or Union Square.

Please note: Depending on the day of your tour, the order of the wineries you visit, as well as which wineries you visit, could change depending on availability and other determining factors.

This was a great tour. Our stop took us to Artesa! I cannot say enough good things about this stop. Beautiful location, knowledgeable tour guide and of courses amazing wines! I will say do research on where to grab a bite to eat at Sanoma Square. The last winery was whatever but their wines were delicious. Would highly recommend if you’re in a pinch and want to go to some wineries !

It was rough

William_S, Sep 2026
Don was not a great tour guide. We started out with him stating two different bus leave times from GG, and he almost left us and others from the tour when he meant the earlier of the times he said. Then talked way too much about info nobody seemed to care much about, like his previous job, prisons, and not wine. Roche Winery was great, good people and info. Artesa was not as great, host kept making comments "for the ladies" and talking about shoes and men. Madonna wine was pretty good but "tour" was 15 minutes max, which was frustrating given how rushed we'd been all day. We planned to leave at 430, then Don proceeded to honk at us at 425 when we weren't on the bus. Felt like a massive waste of money and will not be using Grayline again.

Wonderful experience

Brandie_F, Sep 2026
It is a long day. Wear comfortable clothing and enjoy the experience. The driver is there to give historical context during the trip, so a part of the adventure is designed to help you learn about the wine and the families who create it.

Adolfo made the whole experience unforgettable. My family was there celebrating my nieces 21st and we decided to take this tour. He was fun, informative and kept us entertained. The tour was good, we could have left the 3rd winery out as it wasn’t that great but the whole experience was great!

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Thank you for the wonderful review! We’re thrilled Adolfo made your family celebration unforgettable. We appreciate your feedback on the wineries and are glad you had a great experience overall!

Good tour except Madonna

JoAnn_G, Aug 2026
Great tour guide, lots to see, nice lunch place, but Madonna winery is terrible. Not big enough for a bus load, not informative and wine not good.

Great wine tour!!

Dalia_H, Aug 2026
Danny was our tour guide and he was great. First stop was the Golden Gate Bridge then we started on our adventure to the wineries. Our first winery was Jacuzzi in Sanoma. This winery is more of a traditional looking winery and is beautiful. The views from here are beautiful. The next winery was Artesa in Napa and Rick was our guide here. He is funny and made the tour a great experience. This winery is more of a modern looking winery and is also beautiful. The views from here are beautiful as well. Next we went to Sanoma for lunch. This place is nice but it was hot and we didn’t walk around much after eating. Our final winery was Madonna in Napa. All the wine tasting were great but Madonna was my favorite as they have a sweet wine Muscat. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Thank you for the wonderful review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the wineries, beautiful views, and wine tastings, and that Danny helped make your day special

My main advice take a battery pack phone charger or your charger cord , if you like taking pics. With your phone . Cristin was our guide and she was phenomenal and super knowledgeable about San Francisco and the wine country region. Enjoyed the tour ! 🍷

A wonderful winery tour

Jennifer_B, Aug 2026
The Napa Valley/Sonoma day tour from San Francisco was fantastic. Our guide/bus driver Don met us promptly at our pick up site. The bus was larger than our 18 people tour group but was very comfortable. We visited 3 wineries and had time to eat and do some shopping in Sonoma. We visited Roche winery first and had great attendants there who explained a lot about growing of the grapes and making the wine. I loved this winery because after each wine taste we were offered water which helped cleanse the palate but keep us hydrated. Then we went to Artesa winery. This winery is at the top of a hill with stunning views all around. This winery had a strict time limit for our visit so we had to be there on time, but the tour itself didn't feel rushed at all. Then lunch in Sonoma. Our last winery was Madonna Estates (no, not that Madonna). Once again, a great tour but the best part was the vineyard just outside the building and we were encouraged to pick a grape and eat it. It was like eating a little bubble bursting with flavor. A very lovely day indeed.

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Thank you for the wonderful review! We’re so glad you had a lovely day exploring Napa and Sonoma and enjoyed the wineries, tastings, and stunning vineyard views. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with Don!

Amazing experience

Isabela_S, Aug 2026
My boyfriend and I had a really great time on this tour. The first two wineries were the best, we got to try lots of wines. Lunch in Sonoma was also lovely, the third winery was ok, but not as good compared to the first two. I wish we had a little more time at the first two wineries but overall a great day and really good trip from San Francisco. Be on time for the bus because the driver leaves right on time. Our driver was also incredible, very knowledgeable and shared a lot of information throughout the whole drive.

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We’re glad you had a great day exploring Sonoma and enjoyed the wineries, lunch, and knowledgeable driver.

This tour is definitely worth it! My husband was in San Francisco for work and it was a great solo activity for me to do. Edith is the best driver and guide! Della Santina’s is a great Italian restaurant for the Sonoma lunch stop.

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Thank you for your wonderful review! We're so glad you enjoyed the tour and had a great experience with Edith. We hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon!

Wine tasting at its best

LeeAnne_W, Jul 2026
Fun experience. Each winery shared different things about wine making. The wine was delicious. Each winery was very different but each one beautiful.

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Thank you for your review! We're glad you enjoyed the wineries, the wine, and the unique experiences each one offered. Cheers!

Skip if the host is the old man.

Kyle_C, Jul 2026
The main host guy is not very good, he was rude to one of my friends. We were sitting in the middle and the people in the back were talking so loud. The old man grabbed my fried. By the shoulder and asked him not to talk so loud and it wasn’t even us. Would not recommend that guy as a host. The wineries are good, Madonna was the worst one but Rosch and Artesa are great would recommend those.

Response from Host, Jul 2026

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience and appreciate you sharing your concerns. We're glad you enjoyed some of the wineries and will review your comments with our team.

Disappointed in the choice of wineries

Maritza_B, Jul 2026
These were not the best wineries to see. I’ve been to Napa and Sonoma many times and I was disappointed on the wineries included in this tour. They were not the best or offer a good experience for the tourists. The driver was fun and tried to make the best of the tour.

Response from Host, Jul 2026

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your comments and are glad our guide helped make the experience enjoyable. We’ll share your feedback with our team as we continue improving our tours.

Disappointed.

Great Experience

Jacob_S, Jul 2026
Great experience! We visited 3 very different wineries: Jacuzzi, Artesa, and Madonna. Jacuzzi is from Italy, Artesa is from Spain, and Madonna is a small local winery. Free time in downtown Sonoma provided lots of options for lunch and ice cream. Our tour guide and driver, Kristin, was excellent and pointed out many highlights along the way, including a stop at a Golden Gate Bridge look out point. Highly recommend when in San Francisco!

Response from Host, Jul 2026

Thank you for your review! We’re glad you enjoyed the wineries, Sonoma, and Kristin’s excellent guidance. Cheers!

The drivers, staff, and...

Brittany_H, Jul 2026
The drivers, staff, and overall experience were wonderful! A special shoutout to Danilo—he was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating, and really made the day enjoyable. My only criticism would be the winery selection. In my opinion, the wineries themselves weren’t the strongest. We visited two smaller family-owned wineries and one larger winery. * Roche was nice, with attentive, generous, and welcoming staff, but the wine and grounds were fairly average. * Artesa was beautiful, although the tasting and presentation felt a bit over the top for my taste. * Madonna was very small and, honestly, not particularly memorable. I also wish there had been more time to simply relax and enjoy the wine. The experience was heavily focused on guided presentations and information, which may appeal to some people, but I personally would have preferred more free time to socialize, take in the scenery, and enjoy the tastings at our own pace. Overall, I think the tour company did an excellent job with transportation, organization, and customer service. I would just recommend considering different winery partners and/or extending the day slightly to allow for more unstructured time. It would also be helpful if guests knew which wineries were included before booking so they could make a more informed decision.

Response from Host, Jul 2026

Thank you for your detailed feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the experience and Danilo’s great service, and we truly appreciate your suggestions regarding the wineries and timing.

Wine Tour

John_W, Jun 2026
Great day at 3 different wineries in Napa and Sonoma. We also stopped briefly on the north side of the golden state bridge for a photo opportunity. They have hotdog and fruit vendors there. I would Highly recommend eating a big breakfast or bring snacks since the lunch break is around 1:30 and you have already hit two wineries. Audio did not work on our bus so couldn’t understand anything the driver said. Other than that it was Fun

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the day and appreciate your feedback—we’ll review the audio issue.
