Great Half-Day Kayak Tour for Families

We did the half-day kayaking tour with our kids and had a wonderful time. Our host was personable and shared lots of great information along the way, which made the trip both fun and educational. Lamar Valley, best place to experience Wildlife in Yellowstone

The safari was excellent. Max was a great guide. He was very patient with all questions the group had and his focus was always on safety of the group. We saw tons of bison herds move as we went on the tour. The one thing I would like to say is that this is not an easy hike by any means. There are tons of ups and downs and it is out in the open, so it can get very hot. So carry a lot of water if possible. Also to avoid being close to the bison, the hike can add many more ups and downs. Ours did. It can get really tiring towards the end of the hike. Overall the hike was amazing. We saw tons of bison and Pronghorn. Max like I said was very focused on our safety. Towards the end as we were going over the human trail, there was a bison on the human trail so Max asked us to move to the sage brushes to avoid being close to the bison. At that point everyone was very tired, but we did move and it was good that we did as the bison came charging down the human trail as we moved out of the way. I would highly recommend this tour, but please be prepared for steep ups and downs and lot of walking in the heat. If there is no breeze, it can get very hot.

My First Visit at Yellow Stone Park

It is a group activity. Getting to know people from everywhere. Helping each other spotting wildlife. Having sack lunches is a good idea because the line in the Resturant can be long. The sites are absolutely wonderful. The tour guide is full of no knowledge. Hey, not only knew about Yellow Stone but he knew about other parks across the nation. Keith was an excellent tour guide and he made the journey pleasurable. Keith knew what time to start Tours so that we did not run into busy traffic. I would recommend this all day Tour. Yellow Stone is a huge park and you can’t see it all in one day, but you can see the most interesting parts of Yellow Stone park on a all day tour.

We had a fantastic time...

We had a fantastic time on our Yellowstone Lake kayaking tour. Our guide Dylan was really knowledgeable and friendly. The journey was a 6-mile kayak around the edge of the West Thumb of the lake and good for beginners and experienced kayakers alike. Would definitely recommend! The only thing I would say is that if you’re booking through Viator you can’t specify a single or double kayak, so you may want to reach out directly to Prismatic Tours after booking to request, if you have a preference.

Experienced & knowledgeable guide!!

Kaley picked us up on time. We were seven adults and one child. She was very knowledgeable, friendly and safety conscious. She hoped that we would see wildlife and we did…hundreds of Bison! Our van was surrounded by them for a very long time. She allowed us to stop and take photos when we asked and she also allowed for extra restroom breaks. The lunch provided was substantial. What a fantastic experience! I’m sure all of their guides are great, but request her if you can!!

To make the most of your time in Yellowstone, we highly recommend the Lower Loop and Upper Loop tours offered by Yellowstone Hiking Guides! We took both tours and enjoyed two unforgettable days exploring the park from the comfort of a small van with large windows. Our tour guides, Bri for the Lower Loop and Maddie for the Upper Loop, were outstanding! They safely navigated the park, shared fascinating information about Yellowstone's history and tour sites, and always knew exactly where to stop for the best views. We were mesmerized by Yellowstone's incredible geothermal features, including Grand Prismatic Spring, the spectacular eruptions of Old Faithful and Beehive Geysers, the colorful hot springs at the West Thumb Geyser Basin, and the iconic Mammoth Hot Springs Terraces. We also enjoyed the breathtaking views of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, the historic Continental Divide, and the vast ecosystems of Lamar and Hayden Valleys. The wildlife viewing was just as amazing. We saw bison, elk, pronghorn, a bald eagle, ravens, and even an osprey with her young in their nest. We are extremely grateful to Yellowstone Hiking Guides for making this truly the trip of a lifetime!

Amazing views and wild bison

This was a beautiful hike with good variation between the canyon where we walked along the Yellowstone River, the beautiful lake where we had lunch, the incredible hot springs, and the meadows where we walked through wild flowers and saw many bison. Our tour guide Connor was great, he is very knowledgeable and we learned so much about the wild life in Yellowstone, the history, and his love for the place is very obvious and refreshing. He is friendly and made us all feel comfortable and safe, he had bear spray and gave us clear safety instructions. He made us a light lunch which was perfect: sandwich, chips, nuts, fruit, small candy. Make sure to bring your own water, 1 liter lasted us the entire hike of 4 hours, 6 miles, at 75 degrees. A few sections got our heart rate up but overall it was a medium difficulty hike for a couple who exercises 4-5 times a week. Location was easy enough to find, just made sure you download / print your route in and out as you will have no cell service. We are very grateful that we had such a great guide and we will definitely make sure to book with Conner the next time we come.

Excellent Road Trip

Mike, the tour guide, gave us an excellent adventure, providing history and opportunities seeing the wildlife in the park. We went to many trails to majestic views of nature's beauty. We had lunch at a very beautiful Yellowstone hotel. The Old Faithful Hotel was amazing and waited to get a close view during of Old Faithful Geyser. This was a memorable experience.

Great experience and worth every penny!

Experience was great overall! Mike was a great tour guide - very knowledgeable, funny, considerate and genuinely worked so that our experience as a family was perfect. The open air van was really cool and made the trip unique! Recommendations: if signing up through Viator, confirm your pickup location the day before. Our itinerary said one location, but we needed to go to a different one. It all worked out but just raising it for awareness. Also, ask for the “bear lingo” early in the trip. 10/10 would recommend!

As the driver for the trip, it was nice to be able to see the sights. This was primarily a wildlife searching tour. We did stop at Mammoth Hot Springs and walk up the boardwalk. Having a guide showing us what to look for was key. Alison was very enthusiastic and truly wanted us to get the most out of the tour.

Beautiful Sunset Kayaking

I went on the sunset kayaking tour with guide Spencer. He is top notch! He's attentive and interacts with everyone, also provided safety tips for hiking or doing other activities in Yellowstone. I enjoyed listening to the history and events of the park. The entire experience was beautiful and relaxing. I got to see an American bald eagle and the west thumb hot springs up close. I highly recommend this tour!
