Hop on a '70s-era VW bus and get to know the hippie past and hipster vibe that make up San Francisco today. Starting and ending at Fisherman's Wharf, this sightseeing tour takes you around the city, including Chinatown, North Beach, the Castro, the Mission, downtown and more. See the homes of The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix, while listening to '60s classics. So settle into a neon-blue seat and dig your shoes into groovy shag carpet. Each bus accommodates up to just six people.

Make your own way to the meeting point in the center of San Francisco, hop aboard your VW bus, and get ready to leave your heart in San Francisco.
Start with a drive through Haight-Ashbury, past the former homes of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and members of the Grateful Dead. Continue through Union Square and the Civic Center to the Golden Gate Bridge where you make a stop for photographs.
After maneuvering your way along the world's most crooked street, drive through the neighborhoods of Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown, North Beach, Little Italy, and the Castro while your guide regales you with fascinating stories from their histories.
Make another photo stop in the colorful Mission District and learn about its Latin roots before heading past Gollden Gate Park on your way back to the pickup point where your tour ends.

- While not wheelchair accessible, that doesn’t stop us from helping out with folding a wheelchair and placing it in the back. So come and have fun!

Great overview of the city. We saw areas and learned things we never knew even as native Californians who have traveled here for decades. And Ky was great - friendly, knowledgeable and a great driver! Absolutely would recommend to everyone.

Tara was an excellent tour guide! We had a great time and got to learn about SanFran while listening to good music and cuddling with her sweet dog, Rosie, who sat with us! We enjoyed the tour greatly. Cyrus was a wealth of information, and drove all over San Francisco. And driving in San Francisco is challenging but we never felt unsafe - he was cautious and efficient. We learned about the history of areas and architecture in addition to seeing the famous musician’s places in “The Haight”. We saw numerous great views of Golden Gate Bridge and had many good photo ops. I definitely recommend this experience.

A nice overview of the city with a small group and small ‘bus’ so you can go and park in places that the larger buses do not go. Lots of people notice the bus and smile and wave, Our driver, Dave, was very good, not talking too much and providing interesting facts around the city. Not too focused on hippie or deadhead culture but did see haight neighborhood and relevant houses.

Went with my husband and our two 11 year olds. The tour lasted about 2 hours and 15 minutes. Our guide was Cyrus and he was awesome. He was super easy to be around and very friendly. He visited with us the entire tour and gave us so much information. Cyrus grew up in San Francisco so he had a lot of great stories and details to share about all of the places and neighborhoods we drove by. We stopped 3 times to get out of the van, walk around a bit and snap pictures. When we stopped at the golden gate bridge it was about half way through the tour and there was a public restroom there. Also, the van felt very clean and Cyrus was a great driver. We were comfortable the entire time and felt like we were in good hands.
We had a great time and would definitely recommend! :)

This is a "must do", our driver and Guide, Ky Cyrus was absolutely fantastic, very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. He is genuinely interested in his guests and is also an excellent photographer, always wishing to give us the best experience possible. We saw lots of different areas on the tour with detailed information about each area. Lots of fun, interesting facts with the odd joke thrown in for good measure. I had a brilliant experience, loved every minute of it.

We took this bus tour almost immediately upon arriving in San Francisco. The whole concept was so good and we were excited to do it. Although we went all over the city and saw so much and learned things as well - our guide was a bit off-putting. She was great while speaking and showing sites, but when asked a question, she seemed to get annoyed and dismissive. Strange. The music was spotty but would have added to the experience., although our guide sang loudly to all. All in all - a good thing to do but it could have - and should have - been much more fun!

We took the early morning tour which was great as traffic was light (could stop or slow down to see the sites) and the afternoon was forecasted to be very hot (vintage VW bus didn’t have air conditioning). Although bus was small and a bit tired (hence the vintage vibe) it was comfortable and could easily navigate the SF streets - even the most crooked street!) The tour guide, Tara, did a great job driving, pointing out important sites, and providing background. Especially appreciated the tips on restaurants and sites to visit later. Would definitely recommend to others! For those who have trouble getting in and out of vehicles- the front passenger and immediate back seat would the best spots- a bit hard to get in and out of far back seat but we only got out of vehicle once during tour( at Golden Gate bridge).

Fantastic tour! Guide, Tara, was awesome! She was very knowledgeable and fun! We learned so much about San Francisco that we did not know. I recommend doing the tour early in your stay so you have time to go to some of the places she talks about.

Silas gave us a lot of information about San Francisco on the tour and a lot of lively conversation and funny stories!! It was great way to see the City without driving as we came into the city by train. I would recommend to have a or speaker or microphone because some of the things he was saying couldn’t be heard over the loud 1971 VW bus engine

Pros - I thought that this tour was great, very informative and fun. Got to see a lot of the city with good stories. I would recommend it.
Cons - The driver had constant feedback about “billionaires”, tech companies ruining things and comments about what hotels people are staying at. I wanted to point out we booked this trip via an app so the irony was comical.
Also driver talked about past drug use, I get it this is San Francisco but enough about how many mushrooms he took.

This was so much fun and one of the best tours I have done! Cyrus was an exceptional tour guide - he was very funny but was also so knowledgeable. I actually learned so much on this tour. He took us to many interesting places and even stopped for photos. I was a solo traveler so got to ride shot gun and it was fantastic driving around in this funky little hippie van. Loved it!! Would recommend if you are trying to decide on other bus tours - you need to do this one!

This is a fantastic tour to see a lot of San Francisco with a very knowledgeable and friendly driver. Ky was our guide and he was super chilled and made it a fantastic and interesting tour. We're so glad we chose this tour. I've been to San Francisco 25 years ago but I saw things today that I missed out on last trip thanks to KY.
