HoHo bus was the best way to explore the city for a first timer like me. It covers most of the important places and runs every 15 mins at all the 17 steps. SF is a beautiful city and one can walk around the spots to explore the city on foot. I took the 48 hrs pass and I repeated the spots that I loved multiple times thanks to HoHo bus.

It hit all the hot spots. Bus was only 15 minutes between buses and this was during fleet week when the city was packed with people and cars. Drivers were friendly and helpful.

The bus would start to move before you had time to sit upstairs. Its unknown where to park to start the ride. Most street has a meter parking which is max 2hrs then they tow you. During our ride we were on the other side of the city (3 miles from where we did street parking) and the bus just pulled over n said it was over at 5:05pm when it states ride till 6pm. We had to wait for an Uber that got us to our vehicle with 2 mins to spare. Tow trucks were circling. There should not be a 24hr ticket sold if the bus just stops n says its over. I was so excited for this part of our vacation but it definitely wasn't worth the cost of tickets and the Uber was a cost I didnt expect.

We purchased 48-hour tickets for the 2 days we were in San Francisco on our cruise. The full tour was different each day, both in the route and the weather. Golden Gate Bridge was completely socked in with fog the first day, but mostly clear the second. Cold and windy both times, so do bundle up! On the first day we thought we were on the Red route but the Yellow route was mixed in - very lucky! The second day was just the Red route so we were glad we rode it twice.
The narrators were a bit over the top with repetious superlatives and exaggerated emphasis that was annoying, but the information was good.
In a city like San Francisco, folks with mobility issues will be limited but can still benefit from riding the loop. Husband is unable to walk extensively after a recent surgery, but we did a bit of the Chinatown walking tour. You have to load a separate app that was not supported on my brand new phone as the app has not been updated in over a year. Hubs phone is older and fortunately was supported, so I listened in on his. Interesting information presented in a much less dramatic style that adjusted with the sites as we walked along.
The live bus tracker is not completely accurate. After our Chinatown walk, the bus that picked us up was not showing on the map.
Overall, we enjoyed the tour and would do it again.

Very inconvenient- driver made everyone get off the bus at 1st stop and had to wait long time for another bus. Also there is no route going the other way to get back without having to go do the full loop. Time waster.

Other than stop #1, none of the stop are marked. So if you you do not start at the origin you’ll never find the bus

This is the tour in San Francisco. There is not much interaction between the driver and the passengers. The Hop-on locations are not clearly marked. We had a hard time finding the place to get back on the bus if it wasn't the same place we got off. It was not the same quality of Hop-on Hop-off tour that we have experienced in other cities.

I purchased wrong color bus. Wanted to go to Golden Gate Park however yellow route stopped there on Saturday. I purchased ticket for red route on website which listed golden gate park being a stop however later realized that only yellow route stopped there.

This was a convenient way to see and get around the city. I'd never done this type of tour before so I didn't know what to expect. I was confused about where to catch the bus from Pier 27 which is where the Virgin Voyages cruise let us off. I was told to walk down to the ferris wheel to catch it despite there being a bus sitting at pier 27. I was told that there weren't enough people for him to leave and I wasn't offered the option of boarding and waiting for more people. So I began walking and saw several big busses drive by me along the way. I eventually just stopped at pier 39 to hang out for a bit, as the ferris wheel that I was told to catch was further down the road. While there I noticed a Big Bus stand selling tickets, so I checked the app and saw that I could catch the bus from Pier 39. The app showed an image with a large red arrow of exactly where to wait, which was extremely helpful because the stops are not marked. I boarded the bus but wasn't given headphones nor told to grab a pair. Once I was seated I noticed others with headphones so I asked where'd they'd gotten them and I was told that they were in a bin on the main level and that I'd definitely need them or the ride. So be sure to look for the headphones before finding your seat. The ride itself was fine, but I'd suggest wearing sunglasses, a hat or hood with strings, or a scarf wrapped tightly over your head if you plan on sitting up top. The wind made seeing or hearing anything difficult.

Bus driver was rude and didn't explain much . Couldn't hear what the audio was saying. Maps guide was not in proper order. Didn't get much education about the site and tour spots
The bus did not show up for 45 minutes. We were told by the sales booth to move to the next location at Fisherman’s Pier. That also did not come for at least 25 minutes. We gave up and went to lunch then caught bus later.

Overall, I was impressed by all the bus stops. I managed to get a general feel for San Francisco, but I missed out on the audio tour because the bus equipment was malfunctioning. The driver tried to stay polite, but he still came across as a bit rude—I'd describe his demeanor as 'politely rude.' Then again, he was just being a typical bus driver.

Great way to learn about San Francisco. Riding at the top of the bus is the way to go- just be prepared for high winds as you go across Golden Gate Bridge.

Found the headphones difficult to use (falling out of ears, sound cutting in and out). An announcement of what number stop we were at would have been nice. Narration should include what to do at the stop, including directions. (i.e. Ghirardelli Square, Painted Ladies)

We were very disappointed in this tour. The commentary is extremely irritating and very light on history and information. We were hustled off one bus and on to another with no warning during the tour and the second bus had a defective sound system.

Disappointed. Did not include 2 major stops that they did a couple years ago. The Lombard Street stop is blocks away & all uphill ( seems they could get closer.) I don't mind walking, but wouldn't be good for a lot of people.

It’s a great way to see a lot of San Francisco in a short amount of time. We used it as a sight seeing trip and didn’t get off the bus until we arrived at the stop we got on the bus at. It took about two hours or so to do that.
