Our guide was really knowledgeable about the city’s history. We’ve been on several food tours in the US and Europe. The emphasis was mostly about the food. This tour guide was able to explain the background and history behind the food, the restaurants and community.

A lot of food, 7 total stops. Small portions, thankfully but ended w/ sit down for fantastic pizza and cannoli. There was a lot of walking (very quickly with guide running off) and a lot of history that was interesting but a bit overwhelming.

I’m very sorry your tour was rushed. A comfortable, relaxed pace has always been an important part of our North Beach tour. We regularly welcome guests of different ages, and with frequent food stops and opportunities to sit along the way, no one should have to hurry to keep up.
I’m glad you enjoyed the food and the neighborhood history, especially the pizza and cannoli at the end. The pace you experienced was not okay and was not how this tour is designed to be experienced. You should have had time to enjoy all of it.
I also appreciate what you said about the amount of history. We love sharing the stories of North Beach and Little Italy, but they should add to the experience, not overwhelm it. There should always be time to enjoy the food, the stories, and simply being in the neighborhood.

This was such an amazing trip with Brian. He was informative of the area, since he is a lifer there, and funny as heck. The food was outstanding. We can't decide which part we liked the best the canolli was the best, the meatball sandwich on the fresh bread, yum, the salami truly should be pope blessed. Thank you so much for the fastest 3 hours I have ever spent. We were so sorry when Brian had to leave. Could have spent all day with him. Great tour!.
Ryan was an excellent tour guide and host. He knew the history of the area in fascinating detail. He took us to wonderful places to eat. We also stopped at a few non food places that added more color to the tour. I highly recommend this tour to those that love Italian food.

Come hungry because you eat a LOT on this tour, unlike some other tours. The food is plentiful and delicious. Brian Raffi rocks as a tour guide with his extensive knowledge, funny sense of humor, and friendliness that extends into meeting locals and showcasing the neighborhood’s true colors of community. Heed his good recommendations on local places and activities. Would highly recommend this tour!

Excellent tour! Brian was a great tour guide with a lot of information and history of North Beach. There were only 3 of us on the tour so we were able take on some extra stops. Very enjoyable and we were stuffed afterwards!

Its a walking tour so be prepared to do a lot of walking. But also be prepared for some delicious food. Ryan was our tour guide, he was informative, engaging and friendly. I would do it again and I would recommend it to any one traveling to San Francisco.

We try to make the three-hour route comfortable and enjoyable, with plenty of stops along the way for food, stories, and time inside the restaurants and shops we visit. I’m especially glad you enjoyed all the food along the way.

Since I was on a food tour, I would’ve liked the tour to focus a little more on food. We visited a church and a theater on our tour, which were interesting but not what I was interested in seeing on this tour I would’ve liked our host to give us a better deep dive into some stories about the food and restaurants and families who created North Beach. Also, why we visited where we visited. It would’ve been great to have visited restaurants that actually had a history or some story behind them instead of just places that would take a big party. I don’t feel like I learned much.

We spend much of the tour inside the food stops, eating together and sharing the stories of the neighborhood. The church, theater and other places we visit along the way are there to help tell the larger story of North Beach, but they certainly shouldn’t leave someone feeling that the food took a back seat.
I would really like to learn more about what happened on your particular tour and what we could have done better. I own a small, local, family-run business, and it really bothers me when someone spends a few hours with us and leaves disappointed. I want to understand why.

The walking tour around North Beach/Little Italy was fantastic. You definitely won't leave hungry. We started our tour at Caffe Greco for coffee/espresso/cappuccino and a cannoli from Stella Pastry. Our next stop was a Molinari Deli for a wonderful sandwich. Then we went to Betty Lou's for a fettucine dish with a red cream sauce that was fantastic! Then we went to Steps of Rome and had an amazing pizza. Such a wonderful pizza. Our last stop was across from the Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral where Joe DiMaggio married his first wife call Mario's Bohemian Cigar Store and Cafe and we had an amazing tiramisu. We didn't go to Z. Cioccolato for fudge, but the tiramisu was so good, I didn't care.
We did not got by Coit Tower, but it was pointed out to us. We also had a small tour of Club Fugazi which wasn't listed on the tour, but our tour guide Scott is a local and this club is a San Francisco tradition. We were only in a small area but there was so much history in that small piece of San Francisco that you almost don't realize it.
