Our Rome Food Tour with Mateo was fantastic! 🍝🍷 Mateo was an excellent guide—knowledgeable, personable, and clearly passionate about both Rome and its food. Every stop brought something delicious, and we got to experience the city through the foods and stories that make it special. Great food, great company, and a great guide. Come hungry—you will not leave that way! 😂🇮🇹 Highly recommend Mateo for anyone wanting to eat their way through Rome!

My husband and I try to add a food tour anytime we are in a new city/country. While one would think in Rome, Italy you are already familiar with the various foods, this tour exposes you to top chef level Italian flavors. Our tour guide, Michael, was not only knowledgeable, but also honest in his evaluation of foods and wines, funny, engaging, all-inclusive, and overall a joy to have leading us through the four-hour food journey. Starting with a lovely introduction to olive oil, pestos, hard cheeses and a lovely balsamic vinegar that paired so well with the sparkling wine, we knew we were in for a treat. We took a short walk Bonci to enjoy a tasty arancini and several pizza variations. My favorite was the one with eggplant, but know that the pizza combos change regularly depending on what fresh ingredients are available...discover your favorite by trying out several! We paired the pizza with a lovely montepulciano, a yummy compliment. Our next stop was Osteria Delle Commari to try out traditional italian pastas, along with a glass (or two) of sangiovese. I had the amatriciana and the hubs had the carbonara...both were delish! The pasta was perfect and the sauces were rich, but not over the top to mask the noodles. We finished our meal with a visit to Lemongrass Gelato. Was I full after our appetizer, pizza and pasta? Yes. Was I too full for gelato? Never! We learned what to look for when sorting through which gelato store to visit... and Lemongrass delivered. What made this particular tour especially memorable were the people we shared our meal with. Everyone was friendly, kind and open to trying out everything (I love that in foodies). One of the ladies was celebrating her birthday, so we all celebrated her! Michael was key in bringing all of us together in that we may have started out strangers, but ended our day fellow foodie friends. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rome for the first time or even the hundredth time. There is always something new to learn as long as you open your mind, heart and stomach to the experience!

Caterina our guide was absolutely brilliant. She gave incredible insights into a side of Rome that isn’t given enough attention. With nods to history that could easily be lost amongst the major attractions, and contemporary vibrance in Trastevere. The food was incredible. The tour was beyond fun and just plain exceptional. In a trip that includes some of the world’s most incredible tourist experiences, our food tour and Caterina’s guidance will be a major highlight! 🙌

The food for this tour was amazing! Tone did an amazing job of walking us around and explaining to us everything that we were eating. Come with an empty stomach because the food you will eat in this tour will definitely fill you up! Not only will it fill you up but it will make your mouth water and leave you wanting for more that’s how delicious the food was! And last but not least you finish with the best thing Gelato. Highly recommend this tour as well as recommend Tone for your guide!

Alessio is an exceptional tour guide! Each restaurant came with specific history associated with Roman lifestyle. I do not eat pork; Alessio presented me with vegetarian substitutions that were mouth watering delicious! My husband and I purchased a fine bottle of wine named CiuCiu San Carro from a restaurant visit. We are enjoying it as I write this review. My husband and I would recommend this tour to everyone including Italian locals.

What an Amazing evening of food tasting and local history. We began with filling up our water bottles like locals. Then off for several short walks and stops at five different food location. Each location offered a different tasting and they were perfect and delicious,. Special thanks to our amazing food tour guide, Antonella for the wonderful tour last night. The history we learned was so interesting. Antonella is a lovely person. We loved the time we spent chatting with her. If you ever do a food tour in Rome, I sure hope she is your guide. The Rome Food Walking Tour with Wine in Trastevere was a great start to our trip to Rome! Adib was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the city's food culture and history. We explored the charming streets of Trastevere while tasting delicious local specialties and amazing gelato. The wine and beer selections were excellent and perfectly paired with the food tastings. I especially loved learning about the traditions behind each dish and discovering hidden gems that I would not have easily found on my own. The pace of the tour was relaxed, and the group size made the experience feel personal and enjoyable. We had a great group and made fast friends. If you're looking for a fun way to experience Rome's culinary scene while exploring one of its most beautiful neighborhoods, I highly recommend this tour, you won't leave disappointed!
