Smit was an amazing and excellent tour guide!!!! He was very passionate and knowledgeable about the cuisine. He made the experience personable and we met some wonderful people in our tour group. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is a foodie! All the food offerings were extremely tasty and I really enjoyed the information provided for each tasting experience. This was such a fun and unforgettable way to start our vacation.

This was awesome I almost wish it was our first night. So much culture and good food. I booked the semi private and didn't know. There is a difference because of the food given. FOOD AND CULTURE EVERY TIME

Dominika was absolutely incredible, passionate, knowledgeable and made the experience one of a kind. We met some lovely people, ate incredible food at places we would have never found on our own and learned a lot about Italian food and culture. We would definitely book another food tour. Thank you!

This was hands down one of the best food tours we have ever taken! Our guide, Sila, was absolutely amazing. She was energetic, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience fun from start to finish.
We sampled delicious cheeses and wine, enjoyed incredible porchetta on focaccia bread, tasted fresh supplì with the most amazing cheese pull, and sampled authentic Neapolitan pizza paired with beer. Just when we thought we couldn’t eat another bite, we sat down for caprese, pasta, house wine, and learned about the history of both Rome and the restaurant itself, which even had its own winery in the basement. We finished the evening with delicious gelato.
Not only was the food outstanding, but Sila also shared fascinating stories about Rome’s history and culture along the way. Every stop felt authentic, and the portions were generous. Come hungry because you will leave completely satisfied!
I would book this tour again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Roman food experience.

Maybe it was just our guide - we’ve done many food tours in the past (although this was our first time using Carpe Diem tours & definitely won’t use them again).
We purposely didn’t walk around trastevere much as a family because we had booked this tour. So thought that we would see a lot of the neighborhood during our walking food tour. Instead, we barely walked from one location to another. They were all very close to each other.
The guide was a little late to arrive at the meeting point and he wasn’t holding the yellow sign that we were instructed to look for, luckily another Carpe Diem guide was there and holding a sign talking to him. But a few members of our party weren’t there yet - but it was before the start time of the tour. The other guide had left & they couldn’t find anyone bc he wasn’t holding the sign

An intimate Social experience, getting to know the area and the history of each of the foods you eat. We had such a good time with our Guide, Smit. I highly recommend that you request him because he knows what he’s doing and loves to share all the wonderful period, and the foods, of course were amazing and the relationships he had with each of the stores and restaurants made it that much more enjoyable..

Absolutely the most amazing host ever! Incredible group and trastevere is my new next Roma area to stay- so excited to find out new spots for food. The 2nd Alice pizza stop was not the best for me though - super nice staff but the pizza and some sort of deep fried rice ball seemed like the Italian version of American Dominos fast food

WONDERFUL! Anna was amazing. Lots of amazing food! We were a family of (3 kids in their 20’s) and this was perfect for us to do on our first night in Rome. We loved it. Go Hungry because it’s a lot of amazing g food!

Our guide was very knowledgeable & was able to move through the neighborhood with ease. One recommendation would be to have more variety of food choices as it was very basic food. With the cost of this tour more elaborate meals & high quality should be considered.
