We recently visited with friends for a few days. We did a food tour with Mattia and he was fantastic. He showed us some great eateries and told us all about the history of the areas we visited. We went to places we’d never seen and given history on the food we ate. I would highly recommend booking this tour, informative and thoroughly enjoyable.

Our guide, Ramona, was wonderful. She guided us through the streets of Rome to each location and explained what Italians ate as we sampled each dish and provided historical facts of Rome. This tour changed my mind on Italian food…antipasti, pizza, gelato and artichoke. I highly recommend this tour.

Terrific experience, detailed description of tour was very accurate. Most importantly our guide Fabrizia was EXCELLENT, she enhanced the tour by offering detailed information about the historic areas and very informative details about the foods, wines, cheeses and of course the history of what we experienced. We were fortunate to have her and the pricing of this tour was a GREAT value. Gracie!

Itinerary

Meet your guide in Campo de Fiori, one of Rome's famous market squares, and meet some of the food vendors at their market stalls. Sample some cheese, cured meat, wine, and seasonal fruit, among other items.

Next, head for the Jewish Ghetto and Theatre of Pompey to see remains of ancient Roman structures as well as Rome's synagogue. Taste some of Rome's best pizza, as well as suppli—a traditional street food made by frying a ball of rice with tomatoes and mozzarella at its center.

Continue to the area known as Torre di Largo Argentina, where Julius Caesar was assassinated. Visit a nearby family-run gelateria to eat some of the city's best gelato. Hear how gelato is made from the shop's owner.

Choose to take this tour either at lunch or dinner time, as it is an ideal way to do some sightseeing while having a light meal as you make your way through the city.

We really enjoyed our food walking tour. Marta was relaxed, friendly and fun to follow and hang out with. We were very happy with the food experience, the information and ‘colour’ about the things we ate, and tidbits about Rome and Italian culture. The walk never felt long even though it was 2.5 hours and it was a REALLY hot day! Our big big thanks to Marta for making it a very enjoyable!

A great tour with Kristian. Good range of different items to sample and good knowledge of these as well as questions we asked. One of our party has some food allergies and this was also factored in... which was Great. A bit shorter than advertised, however we were a small group of 6 so this may well be the reason. 😊

Tour was great, food was delicious and different which we appreciate. Got to know some history of the areas that we were in. I was expecting a demonstration on how they make gelato at the end, but that didn’t happen. Overall, it’s definitely worth it and our tour guide was great.
