We took a travel tour to Mount Vernon via boat. Lunch was served once we returned to the boat. The tour was absolutely amazing!!! Our tour guide, Ray, was a wealth of knowledge and was happy to answer everyone's questions. The only thing I disliked was that I felt rushed through the exhibits to keep a schedule to return to the boat. And that the narrated portion of the boat tour was not working-but tha k goodness Ray knew his stuff!!!

Our tour guide, Ray M., was amazing! Made our first visit to Mt. Vernon so interesting and fun! He was knowledgeable and engaging. Mt. Vernon is a special place and our family appreciated the love and respect Ray expressed for President Washington and the historic property. Really felt like we got to know our first president in a more personal way by exploring Mt. Vernon. Could go again tomorrow!

Anaya was our tour guide !! She was extremely personable,knowledgeable!! She was kind and gave us an amazing history lesson about George and Martha Washington.
If you go alone you will miss the history and not see all the important things to see on the tour

The ferry ride on the Potomac to Mount Vernon was relaxing, but the ship did not have any narration, it was broken. Our tour guide could have given us some background info, but did not.. She guided us around the various buildings at Mount Vernon and did offer insight, but we did not have time to visit the museum or have any free time to explore the grounds. The return trip again had no narration, and our guide offered none. Historic information was lacking most of day.

Regarding your time on the estate, our itinerary provides approximately three hours for guests to explore independently, including the Museum, Education Center, and other sites such as George Washington’s tomb and the Pioneer farm.
We regret if the pace of your visit did not allow you to see everything you had hoped for and appreciate your note on narration, which we’ll share with our team.

I thought this was going to be hokey a cruise to Mount Vernon through Victor. But it wasn’t it was wonderful. What a perfect day. It was though a little warm 79. Our guide was Jana and she was wonderful. My friends from Belgium understood everything. She said she was quite knowledgeable and friendly and helpful. I wondered when I made this reservation through Victor if it was a fraud or not. I’m so pleased to tell you it was legit .

We have visited Mount Vernon before, and having a guided tour made our return this time that much more enjoyable and memorable. Susan, our guide, was delightful and worked to convey a sense of the history and context of living at Mount Vernon when it was a working plantation. If you have not taken a Walks guided tour, I highly recommend it. Kudos to Susan for making our day so fun!

Great tour, however I wish we were notified that there is major renovations going on to the main house. This makes your tour very limited, and they rushed us through. It wasn’t our guides fault, he was great. Just disappointed we didn’t get the full experience we were expecting.

Let me start with the positive. The boat ride to and from DC and Mt Vernon was lovely. However, it ends there. We didn’t realize we had signed up for Walks, a guided walking tour. When we figured that out, we were fine. However, our guide, Susan, was late. We were already on board the boat when she arrived. It all started to fall apart when she arrived. There are golf cart shuttles that run continuously from the wharf to the house. She made sure we were on the first one. Others waiting were angry. We later found out the shuttle run up and down all day. We could have waited a few minutes. Then we got up the mansion she explained her itinerary. The mansion and walking around the slave quarters, farms, etc. no time for the museum, gift shop or the colonial fairs that was happening. It was a small group, 8 people. One of the guests asked her a question, she paused and told them she had already answered that question. Yes! She said that!!! She could have given us this background information on the boat ride to Mt. Vernon. Standing for 30 minutes in the hot sun was not pleasant and unnecessary.
My friend and I wanted to go to the gift shop and museum and maybe explore the faire. Then she pulled us off to the side where she gave us info on George W. It was hot and we stood there for almost a half an hour listening to her. Then we went into the house. Two rooms! That is all that was open due to the renovations. She was rude to the guides in the house. Asking question after question, demanding they show diagrams, etc. we split off from her after that. She made a big deal about being by the trees at 12:30. She implied if we weren’t we would miss the boat. As a result we felt we didn’t have time for the museum or the faire. We were at the trees at 12:30. She wasn’t, so we headed on our own down to the wharf. We got to the wharf and waited 30 minutes to board.
If you do the math we wasted 1 hour thanks to her. Didn’t get to see the museum or the faire.
When we got off the boat, she stalked us under the guise of wanting to make sure we knew where we were going. She wanted a tip.
It was $169 a person. Lunch was fair. However, no condiments for the turkey rolls.
This is the first time a Viator was awful. But thanks to Susan, it was a wasted experience.

You can book a boat ride to Mount Vernon and explore yourself—- for a third of the price . Mount Vernon has wonderful free docents at all sites you don’t need a useless “ tour guide” in addition! This tour was booked as walking but the tour guide insisted on taking a shuttle, told us we couldn’t visit the museum without her ( not true) and then she said she wouldn’t be going to the museum or visitor center because they were too far away? We visited it all on our own and had a great time—-a 15 year old and a 73 year old. The 15 year old begged to have us leave the tour and walk around on our own and glad we did! The Viator tour guide held us back at every point along the way. By the end of the visit 8 out of 20 of us had broken off and did our own tour by ourselves. In addition, we couldn’t board the boat until the guide arrived and she was late—- everyone else had already boarded.
We were provided with incorrect information —- told the wrong name of the boat and told the boat would leave without us if we weren’t at the wharf by 1:15 —- we ran to get there but the boat wasn’t there yet!
I would not recommend a tour with this company. This was my first and last!

Cruise was comfortable, guide found us on cruise, not everyone on cruise has same package that came with a guided tour. Boxed lunch was fine and they had gluten free options. During cruise they play over speaker what to watch for. Mt. Vernon tour was very informative and I felt like our guide helped us to see we everything. There was a tram available to go up the steep hill from river to house.

Our guide, Ray, was fantastic! Lots of very interesting information. There is a good amount of walking, sometimes uphill. The box lunch is not great, so if you are picky you may want to bring your own snacks. The experience was well worth the money!

We had a lovely boat ride to Mount Vernon. Our tour guide Ray gave us a running commentary of the views along the Potomac. He was a very helpful and thoughtful tour guide.
Once at Mount Vernon we were taken to all the different areas of the estate with continuous details being given by Ray. He is a very knowledgeable guide.
Once back on the boat we were given a nice lunch.
A lovely day was had by all.
