Operating Schedule: Trolley tours depart every half hour from Union Station (50 Massachusetts Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002) beginning at 9am until 4pm. Tour operates daily. Shuttle available from Lincoln Memorial to transfer to Arlington National Cemetery for that portion of the tour. Shuttles run every half hour from 9am - 3:30pm. Arlington National Cemetery Tours run 8:30am - 4pm.

Don't go when there are dignitaries in DC! The drivers were wonderful and patient only so much they could do. We should have been given the option of canceling. We waited over an hour to get on the bus at Union Station. Given partial tour of city, too many streets closed to see everything. Did not have time to get off to enjoy any of the museums because we had to get to Arlington (which we paid for separately) that took up a big chunk of our time (well worth it!) Yes, we could have seen the outdoor memorials, but how much would we have had to pay to get back to Union Station? We barely made the last tram from Arlington to Union Station & that took well over an hour to maneuver through the city full of rush hour, traffic & road closures. Again, the drivers did their best in a terrible situation!
Quick over view of DC. Unfortunately when we were there the Mall was blocked by a grandstand used for the RAF and there were detours due to the security measures in place. I would choose this again when it was all accessible.
Apart from the rain it was a really good experience. We got to hear 4 different drivers on the route, all drawing from their own unique perspective. Birdie was especially engaging!
Even with the rain we would recommend sitting by a window without the plastic pulled down. It makes for a better picture taking experience.

The cut off at 3:45 is a bit of a bummer. We would have like to take a loop around and the get off. But with the timing and driver encouraging us to get off so we “don’t waste time” it was a weird vibe.
Also, the driver was a great tour guide so we would liked more time with that.
Wait times to be picked up are significant longer than expected. In the Arlington Cemetery stops, there were multiple tour buses that took all the seats. Multiple times it was the second or third tram to come by before we got on. Wait times for these multiple times was 30 to 45 minutes.
Tour was as described. There was some confusion about the pickup spot to begin the tour. Just wish the final tour was a little later in the day.
couldn't find a place for pickup after a couple hours dealing with the ai program finally got paid with someone only to be told today they are idly operating from 12 to 4 not 9-4 which was all over the website no emails about anything nothing
It was wonderful!!! So much to see and we had such a wonderful time. We had Rooster as our tour guide on 2 separate legs of our trip. He was always very friendly and upbeat both at the beginning if the day and at the end of the day, extremely knowledgeable, eat to understand and a pleasure to interact with! Would definitely try to go with him again.
Can choose to stop and visit sights on your own. Can just stay in trolley as you please . Guides very accommodating especially to those with wheelchairs .
After being on the bus and just left Lincoln monument was told stop 14 was canceled. Not sure why we were not told this up front. We would have changed the stops we got off of. Stop 14 was one of the major reason we booked. If we had known this we would have gotten off and went to Arlington.
There was none from my 21-point+Arlington Cemetery tour operator at the Union Station. Then I had to take the 15-point Old Town bus and get to their Stop 10 to transit to Arlington. It was a chaos overall.
It was great to DC without having to walk everywhere. You can get off to spend more time at a stop and hop onto the next trolley.
This would have been a great experience, but we were not informed ahead of time that many roads and locations were unavailable because of the car race going on the same weekend. We missed about half the route. We couldn’t even get close enough to the White House to see it.
Also, the last pickup of the day did not show up!! The bus was supposed to be at the Lincoln Memorial at 4:30. A group of us were waiting at 4:15. The bus did not arrive until 5:30. We had to call dispatch to get a bus to come pick us up. They said it was because of traffic, but it was an empty bus that came for us, so the bus in route, “stuck in traffic,” was not the one that came to get us. They just stopped the routes early and didn’t intend to make that last round of pickups.
If it had been posted on the website, and we knew before purchasing the tickets, that would be on us, but that did not happen. When we were dropped off we were told we would be picked up at 4:30.
On a positive note, our initial driver, Barbara, was fantastic!!! She was friendly and personable, and told us about the city while asking us trivia questions. Her positive attitude was contagious! If we hadn’t been going to the Veteran’s Memorial we would have ridden the entire loop with her just to hear her stories! Thanks Barbara for a great experience on your bus!!
Moral of the story- call them and ask if all routes and stops are running before buying tickets! And ask for Barbara!!
Very well informed drivers/tour guides. Comfortable seating. Mobile scooter accessible and easily handled with lift.
I bought the 21 stops with Arlington Cemetery and when we all got on at Union Station the driver said we couldn’t go to 7 stops plus the cemetery… the whole group was upset because we should have been told… I bought my ticket right before I went so you knew those stops were closed!
The starting point was listed as union station, theDC welcome center or any of the stops. We didn't want to Uber to board, so we walked to the Welcome Center. No bus came ever. We saw them on the roads so we ran after them. All day! Never catching one until the Lincoln Memorial. What a hike! Then it went to the union station and we had to disembark. Wait for another bus and took it back to the hotel as there wasn't enough time to get off and see anything before the 4pm end. Plus the 21 stops it was supposed to make was cut down to about 7. Had I known at booking, I wouldn't have wasted the money.
Well worth the price, use it to orient yourself to the city. Then go back next day to see things you didn’t get off to see. Jump off in cemetery first day,changing of guards.
I did not receive any instructions as to where to get on the trolley. It was supposed to be a good time to see the sight in DC. I paid for services that was not able to use. I now know why they make sure cancellation is not allowed. They are taking advantage of visitors to dc because we know no where.
It was a great tour , despite the Indy cars being there and the roads were closed . Rooster was a great guide , he was very knowledgeable and kept everyone involved. I would most definitely recommend this tour .
The drivers were amazing but 75% of the stops were closed for the upcoming Grand Prix 250. There was no warning until we literally were getting on the trolley. This was a major event that his Been under works for days but not stated in the advertisement
Convenient, informative, be aware all stops may not be utilized due to unforeseen city street closures but you still pay full price
Unfortunately multiple stops were Impacted by road closures. But the guides and drivers did the best they could to alter the original route to help maximize what you could see and attend. Very good tour, will 100% recommend.
Great way to see many different venues and can stop and explore the areas of interest for you. Loved it.
Purchased the tour which includes Arlington Cemetery....waited for close to an hour to get on that connection.
Identification stickers could not be pealed off...left glue on shirts...a pain to remove.
Used Viator all over Europe and they were great....very disappointed in this tour.
You must go early hop so you will have time to stop all the stop to enjoy. We have amazing time but couldn’t stop some of the stops since hop on late . It was a great experience for us. Thanks
Very friendly staff but the waits for Trolly are a little long. The stops are great and the trolly to the Arlington Cemetery is separate one but also nice. I highly recommend it.
I believe the drivers name was birdie or Bernie. Not sure. Either way, the narration in the ride was incredible. She have lots of recommendations of where to go, what to do, things to see or eat. It was everything I needed in this solo trip. She also advised us which museums were free, which required ticketed times and which had to be paid for. I would have loved to go longer if my trip wasn’t so short.
Don’t do it - there were two buses not operating and after waiting 45 minutes to get picked up for the Jefferson memorial and the Lincoln memorial we gave up - took uber rest if the way
Also if doing in the summer just know no air conditioning
