The Odyssey boat is glass enclosed and relatively cozy, allowing for all-weather comfort and not too big of a crowd. The boat was clean, the staff incredibly pleasant, and the food fine. There is a dance floor and a DJ, which, along with just the crowd noise, gets very loud. But it was a fun atmosphere and you can go outaide and enjoy more quiet and a nice view and breeze. We had a great time and would recommend.

10/10 Tour
Our tour guide Tyrone was amazing! Our driver Chris also took very good care of us. I enjoyed the 3 hour tour and it allowed me to get up close and personal with the monuments. Learned a lot from Tyrone about the historical facts and meanings behind all of the monuments. My husband and I enjoyed it so much.

Five stars isn’t enough for Alan
Our group was a tour guide’s nightmare on paper: teenagers, young kids, seniors, and every attention span and interest level in between. Alan turned it into something genuinely remarkable. What set him apart wasn’t just his depth of knowledge — though that was extraordinary, the kind that answers the follow-up question before you’ve thought to ask it — it was how fluidly he calibrated to each person in the group. He’d be mid-sentence explaining the political calculus behind a monument’s placement and somehow pivot to make a seven-year-old feel like the most important person on the Mall. The seniors were engaged, the teens weren’t on their phones, and the kids were asking questions. If you’ve ever traveled with a mixed-age group, you know how rare that is. He clearly loves this material. Washington’s monuments are easy to flatten into a parade of dates and dedications, but Alan gave everything a narrative arc — the tensions, the compromises, the personalities behind the stone. You left feeling like you’d actually been introduced to the city rather than just walked through it. And several of us were dc natives who thought we’d heard it all. Alan handled our chaos with warmth, patience, and zero condescension in any direction. He made everyone feel like the tour was designed specifically for them. Can’t recommend him highly enough.

Fantastic night tour of Washington Monuments
Best way to see all the monuments without so much walking and especially when you are limited on time. Our guide Khalid was exceptional and so knowledgeable. Everything was so nice and tailored to our group with plenty of time to see everything without feeling so rushed. I would recommend over and over again to do this tour.

Take in the pretty city skyline on a Potomac River sightseeing cruise. Most of these Washington DC cruises include a filling brunch, lunch, or dinner buffet so you can enjoy a delicious meal while admiring some of the US capital’s endearing landmarks. Evening cruises often feature live music, and the views from the water are especially enchanting when monuments are illuminated. There are also private boat tours on the Potomac if you’d like a more exclusive experience. Further afield, consider a Chesapeake Bay cruise—the meeting point for a yacht sail is just southeast of Washington DC.
