A professional Tour Guide from Continental City Tours will come pick your family up at the time your tour reservation at a hotel/restaurant/museum within the Washington D.C. National Mall/Downtown or the Arlington VA area. Please feel free to contact us with any questions about your pick up location and we are happy to verify on our end as sometimes the online system does not have all hotels listed or says it is outside the radius when it isn't- please just message/text us directly the address and we can confirm or recommend the nearest point. The reason for the pick up radius is to maximize your 4 hour tour time to dedicate to the tour itinerary/memorials and history. Your guide is the driver- he/she will remain in the vehicle and explain the history, significance, and more during your tour as you drive by many important buildings such as the National Archives, FBI Headquarters, Air and Space Museum and so much more! Your family will be able to step down and walk on the external grounds of the White House, the U.S. Capitol Building, explore and walk throughout the World War II Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Memorial and so much more! We are more than happy to make changes/modifications to Memorials/Monuments during your tour. If you are driving or have a car, please send us a message so we can provide you an address to park your car for free either within D.C. (weekends) or near The Pentagon (weekdays), your guide would be able pick you up and take you back to your car at the end of the tour. Thank-you. We appreciate your support!
Itinerary
Your day begins with pickup from your centrally located Washington DC or Arlington, VA hotel.
Begin your tour at the President's Church and walk to the front of the White House. Then, from teh US Capitol, take in panoramic views of the National Mall.
After passing the Washington Monument, your next stop is the World War II Memorial, followed by Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial.
Two contrasting monuments are next: the Lincoln Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial.
Your next stop is the Arlington National Cemetery, the country’s largest military cemetery. Your tour includes a visit to John F. Kennedy's grave and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and you can also see the Changing of the Guard if you make a request beforehand.
U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial and the Korean War Veterans Memorial are the final two stops before your tour ends with drop-off back at your hotel.

The private tour is a must! The driver, Melinda was exceptional! She had lots of knowledge of DC and the history of the area. We had my in-laws with us and thought this would be better than taking them on the Metro in the August heat! I would highly recommend this private tour! It was our first visit to DC.

Great experience and totally worth the price. The driver let us visit sites at our own pace which is a little slow. 5 & 8 year old kids so little legs that got more tired throughout the day in the DC heat. The ice cold water from the driver for all of us several times through the day was very much appreciated. If we do this again in a few years this is the only way we would see DC! Thanks for a great day!

If you want to see Washington DC, this is an amazing way to see it. You get one on one tutorial of the history and current happenings in the city. I am here several times a year and still learned tidbits from the tour. Jessica was our guide and she worked well with our family. I am in DC several times each year and thought I knew a lot of the city. I learned several things as well as my grandson.

When our guide arrived at our hotel, the vehicle type was different than the one we chose and paid for. Activity provider didn’t ask for confirmation; even didn’t inform us beforehand about the change. Tour was mediocre.

Very nice tour with Sebastian. We went and saw many places and heard the history of the city. Sebastian was super friendly and kind. We were dropped off at landmarks and we were able to explore, while communicating with Sebastian over text when/where to pick us up. Super responsive and happy person. We would have liked a little more history at the exact landmarks (with our guide, not just pick up/drop off, but it was still ok). All in all, a nice day. Thank you, Sebastian!

This tour was exceptional. Hilda went above and beyond to accommodate us. She was very knowledgeable about the area and kept us informed through out the trip. Checking in with us several times. My family and I only had one day to visit and taking this tour was a fast and comfortable way to get around. The van was wonderful with very tall ceilings to be able to stand if needed. I would highly recommend this tour.

We traveled during the 4th of July celebration. As there were many road closures. Melinda, our guide gave us the best tour that could happen with the road closures and a heat wave of 100degrees!

Our tour guide, Jessica, was a font of knowledge regarding the many buildings and monuments we viewed and those we visited during our tour. This provided an excellent base for the rest of our stay in Washington.
