Our guide was very knowledgeable. And he had SCOTUS “inside baseball” info that she shared with us. He even got us a SCOTUS opinion document on the “Stay in Mexico” asylum decision.

It was a July 4 week, very busy and hot. Our tour guide was fantastic and kept the group together and was very informative. Many say you can do this on your own, but I feel I left with more knowledge, saved time from getting lost and seeing the highlights.
Iliana_V, Jul 2026
Our tour guide was amazing! It was hot and yet she kept her cool and made us laugh. She gave us great information about the Capitol. It was a wonderful experience!
Inna_S, Jul 2026
Great guide, super knowledgeable and friendly. Loved learning and seeing the US Capitol & Library of Congress
Gregg_K, Jul 2026
Our guide was exceptional. Easy to find location starting point. Would use y'all again. Gave plenty of breaks to shop, etc.
Jim_S, Jul 2026
James was an AMAZING guide! Very knowledgeable! Funny! Great with selfies lol Definitely recommend this tour 100%!!!
Markus_P, Jul 2026
The Tour Guide was very friendly with a lot of insight and Information. That was exactly what I expected. The second half of the Tour at the Capitol was more scripted and a bit less enthusiastic from the new guide. Overall, definitely recommended tour.

This tour was wonderful and our tour guide really made the experience special. Shane has the character and personality to make everyone have a fun time! He also gave us helpful tips after the tour which I appreciated. We enjoyed this tour very much and I’m so glad we were lucky enough to get Shane as our tour guide!

We were not able to see the Supreme Court because it was closed. You need to alert customers that if they book this when it’s closed, they cannot see the Supreme Court.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hi Jerry! We agree, that’s why we sent the a message directly to you notifying of the closure and adjustments to make up for the change. Make sure you check your Viator messages for updates as that is the only way we are able to communicate such things.
Glad you had a great time on your tour!
Pam_S, Jul 2026
Our guide was great, but we were disappointed that we had to stand in line an hour to get into the Capitol after purchasing this particular tour. We also were a little disappointed that the Supreme Court was closed and wasn’t subtracted from the overall price. The Library of Congress was fabulous!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hi Pam! I see you were booked on the Capitol and Library of Congress option, which does not visit the Supreme Court. So the court closing for July 3 would not have affected your tour.
All visitors to the Capitol must go through the security screening, we unfortunately can’t skip that. This usually is just a few minutes, but on the particularly busy July 4 weekend we did have longer than usual waits. However our tour allowed you to skip the lines to the Capitol Historic areas tour inside, and the security line to the Library of Congress which is often another 30-60 minutes outside on a busy day.
Glad you enjoyed your guide and the trip overall!
Ronald_M, Jul 2026
This tour was excellent. We enjoyed our time spent in both the Capitol and Library of Congress. Our guide was very knowledgeable and took time to answer questions from our group. This is a good choice for a day when the weather is bad as you go from place to place thru a tunnel. These venues are like museums.

We booked the Capital , Library of Congress and Supreme Court small group walking tour which also included the Shakespeare Library. Our guide was Dash and he was very informative and helpful in explaining the history of each location. This is a must do experience when visiting DC! Amazing experience with a small group of 7. Highly recommended!

Our Tour guide, Christina was extremely informative. You could clearly understand her comments and hey we're in good taste. Always very pleased with Christina's knowledge and delivery of her task. This was our second Tour this week with her. She is a very kind and business mannered person. Thank you for your wonderful help and impeccable service.

Our tour guide James was very knowledgeable, and gave alot valuable insights into the History of the Capitol Building. It was the best tour that we did in D.C.
Highly Recommended Tour, & Guide
Antonio_D, Jun 2026
It was informative and interesting. We did not get to see inside the Supreme Court nor inside the congressional chambers due to the weekend. So this made the tour less valuable in our eyes. Especially since the price of admission to these attractions are free to the public. We were looking for the back room kind of tour. Something that is very exclusive, distinguishing, and that makes the tour better than just walking in ourselves. The tour guide was informative.
Teresa_V, Jun 2026
Our guide was amazing and knew so many stories. He was able to get us through lines quickly. He made everything fun, interesting for the adults along with our 11 year old grandson.

Nirali_P, Jun 2026
It was an amazing experience. Worth visiting all the impressive landmarks. Our guide, Dash was awesome. Very culturally competent. He is very knowledgeable. He was very patient and very kind.
Austin_S, Jun 2026
Evelyn was so humorous and knowledgeable, I learned a lot about the history during our tour. I had so much fun. Highly recommend to anyone who is thinking about visiting!
Tara_D, Jun 2026
Takes you through all of the sites and attractions listed. Very informative. Only complaint is that you don’t really have time to take pictures…so plan on doing that before or after.
Michael_S, Jun 2026
I had a really nice time on this tour. It was a convenient and quick way to see The Supreme Court Building, Library of Congress, Shakespeare Library, and the Capitol Building all in one morning. Our guide, Evelyn, was very friendly and was well-informed on any questions anyone had about the sites we were visiting, and DC in general. I’d recommend this tour to anyone on their first visit to DC!
Kim_B, Jun 2026
Lots of walking very informative guide - James I think. Small group to start with then at the capitol more were added and he wasn't our guide.
Karen_L, Jun 2026
James was an excellent tour guide. Very entertaining! The tour pace was not too demanding and very informative
Rachel_B, Jun 2026
James was great! He made it fun and made sure we were comfortable and had the timing down pat. We would highly recommend this tour!
KayL_M, Jun 2026
Disappointing. Our guide took us to the Supreme Court without planning to take us into the actual courtroom. We watched from the hallway as the public within heard from a docent and wondered why we should be satisfied with seeing a “Lego” version of the Courtroom. At the Capitol, we were similarly omitted from the Congress and Senate because they were “in session”. Planning ahead could have let us enter the visitors’ balcony quietly and get a look at our Country’s leadership in action
Response from Host, Jun 2026
What you witnessed was a Court-led lecture. These are approximately 25 minutes long and serve as the only way for the public to enter the courtroom outside of official oral arguments. While we cannot provide direct access to the courtroom interior, our guides do provide information on how visitors can join these lectures on their own time.
Similarly, the actual House and Senate Chambers are never accessible on any public tour, as doing so would disrupt active government proceedings. Access to the viewing galleries above the chambers requires special passes, which can only be obtained directly through your district's Congressional representative.
In the past, we have actually tried incorporating these lectures into our tours. However, guest feedback consistently showed that they did not enjoy the addition. Because these activities require significant wait times and strict restrictions on movement—such as not being allowed to leave the courtroom once a lecture begins—guests overwhelmingly preferred spending their limited time actively exploring and learning from their guide instead.
We understand navigating these federal restrictions can be disappointing, but we structure our tours this way to provide the best, most engaging experience possible within a two-hour window. We hope this highlights the complex reality of touring active government buildings and that you still walked away with valuable insights.

Evelyn, our tour guide, was wonderful. Very knowledgeable. great enthusiasm. Kept us engaged. Lots of information. A must see, My husband and I debate if the Library of Congress or the capital is more beautiful.
Billyjoe_W, Jun 2026
Great 3 hour small group tour with Evelyn today. She was really knowledgeable and passionate about what we visited. Well worth the money to be in a small group as this made it feel more personal.
She gave me some tips to further enhance my Capitol Hill experience so I got to visit both chambers after the tour had finished.
Mary_C, Jun 2026
