Muir Woods and Sausalito are both fantastic destinations. Scheduling a tour reduces some of the logistics but you tour can be frustrating due to very slow driving speed and non-stop commentary from guide. Would have liked to have more effective transportation between stops allowing longer visit times. Next time I will rent a Turo.

It was a very hectic but magical Sunday in August 2025! Just landed and had an early check-in at my hotel. Did a quick change in wardrobe and off to my adventure in Muir Woods and Sausalito! Peter, our guide was prompt and respectful to all. A jovial, precise on details, and a pleasant guide.
Our tour were friendly and tour went smoothly. Muir Woods turned out to be a delight! I was a little worried if I would lost in the forest, but it was calm, serene and the map and signs were easy to understand.
It felt magical when inside this wondrous natural sanctuary. I felt at peace and the redwoods are strong, sturdy, reddish in vigour and vitality. Very unique, luscious and magnificent! I felt something within... The Redwoods may have a healing effect...
I also enjoyed a briefing from the forest ranger. She was insightful about redwood trees. I left Muir Woods, feeling like I had uncovered the mystery and secrets within. Yes, this is a truly soul defining experience for me. Thank you! ❤️😘

Comfortable ride, driver was informative but if you sit in the back you can't hear. Don't expect to be close to the Golden Gate Bridge for great photo op or to take a short walk on the bridge. We stopped at a lower area from the bridge where people are kayaking. Also if several pick ups are within a short walk from each other expect that you might not get dropped off in front of your hotel where you're picked up.
Overall it's a Comfortable ride to Muir Woods and Sausalito.

A fantastic half day trip. A complete contrast to San Francisco. Muir Woods were stunning & so calming. We had time to walk up to bridge 4, and loop around back to bridge 1 in less than 1 hour.
Sausilito is so picturesque. Had a walk around the harbour & back to town to the deli. The pastrami roll was huge & would feed 2. My kids went to the pizza shop next door. A huge slice of gorgeous pizza was $6.
Our driver Buddy was fantastic and so frisndly & knowledgeable. My son left his prescription sunglasses on the bus & he kindly dropped them at our reception for us. Definitely recommend.

Hi, I’m Outback Al from Australia I like travelling. I spent a few days in San Francisco and booked a tour to visit the Muir woods and Sausalito with Viator. The tour guide was great as he drove over the Golden Gate bridge we saw the speculator view of the San Francisco Bay. Walking the trail at Muir woods was a wonderful experience feeling the natural nature of the woods and to see the 400 feet tall red wood trees was incredible. It was one of those moments when you can't help but gawk at how incredible nature is.
Once we left Muir woods and travelled to Sausalito an historic city you want to eat everything. With many restaurants on the block, you're constantly breathing in the wafting smells of freshly grilled food tortillas and juicy hamburgers and a taste of Mexico salsa.

Our guide Peter was friendly, funny, and informative. The Redwoods are a sight you have to see and Sausalito was a lovely little place. Peter gave us some recommendations of good places to go. We had a drink looking across the water to the city. I like that this tour included the entry fee to the woods too. We had a lovely afternoon.

Very convenient pickup from our hotel, and then on to beautiful Muir Woods. We enjoyed the peaceful walk through the redwoods and then Sausalito for a great seafood lunch. A wonderful afternoon!

It would be good if we can spend 1.5 hours in Sausalito instead of 1 hour 15 minutes, so we can include some eating time too.

Amazing time walking through Muir woods, enjoying the solitude and majesty of those amazing trees. Our guide, Randy, was absolutely the best. Randy has a ton of knowledge about the San Francisco area and gave us a quick tour on our way back. As mentioned, Sausalito is pretty quiet during the winter, so just know that as you go. Lots of shops closed. We were fortunate to have a small group, only 4, so it felt like a personal tour. Highly recommend!!!

We really only booked for the transportation up to Muir Woods but the narration along the way was nice. Our driver also recommended great restaurants in Sausalito. Took the ferry home rather than the tour.

Very nice tour. The information Michael gave very complete and interesting. If you wish to stay in Sausalito and took the afternoon tour make sure you take the last ferry to return because the last departures are early
