The road to Muir Woods is very twisty so car sickness could be an issue. Van was comfortable and the driver was great. Only an hour in Sausilito which I would have preferred longer.

This is not the fault of the tour, but the San Francisco port authorities would not let us off the ship at the normal time. This meant we were late to the pick up point by 6 minutes. The tour left without us, even though we tried every way to get hold of them. When we asked if we could join them at the next point on the trip, we were advised that it would not be possible, and we would have to go to the third point. This cost us $90 extra in cab fares. We did eventually join the tour, and was told they had to go because it was such a tight schedule. Funnily enough, at this stop some German people were 3 minutes late, and the German tour guide waited for them! Also the minibus was cramped and uncomfortable, and the guides microphone was useless (unless you was in the first row of seating). The rest of the tour was OK, but in hindsight, you'd be better off just ubering everywhere. Would probably be cheaper too.

Great Tour Guide! Double Check the departure time for your ferry as it may vary from the actual time you booked it.
My tour officially stated at 10:35 but I had a ferry ticket for 9:20…

I did Alcatraz first and then Muir Woods. It was literally the perfect day. Our tour guide, Dustin, was so kind and knew a lot about the city. The van was really comfortable and we had adequate time at each stop. I would definitely recommend the tour I did to anyone who isn’t visiting San Francisco for a super long time and wants to see a few things in one day!

I start by saying that our tour guide was great. He was informative, has a great attitude and very funny. The issue is not on his side. Communication was terrible. We knew how to get on the first leg of the trip but no clue where or when to get the van to continue our tour. I texted, emailed and called. So we just stood in front of pier 33 for over an hour and a half waiting. Finally the van showed up. At the Muir Woods we had to buy tickets for entrance even though they were included in the package. None were supplied and phones don’t work. More communication is definitely needed by this company.

Van is a bit tight and lots of curvy roads. Muir Woods was the clear winner of this experience for me. I booked the trip for Alcatraz but was extremely pleased with Muir Woods. Alcatraz was ok but we went on the weekend so it was a bit crowded. The only negative for this trip was the ferry. They packed people onto the ferry with extremely limited places to sit and standing room was shoulder to shoulder.

We had an amazing time!!! We are actually local and took the tour with my 9 year old so he could learn about the area and so we would stay on a schedule..our guide Katya was WONDERFUL - she was so great at telling the history of the area and gave great instructions on how long we were able to stay at each stop! Will recommend to our family and friends traveling to the area

Great tour guide Roman, he was funny kept the entire tour entertaining and recommended great locations to try. Super glad we did it Honestly the Tour guide made the trip for us and did such an amazing job. The Mercedes van was comfy and had plenty of room and all the trip locations were perfect and Roman got us amazing pictures cant thank this tour group enough will highly recommend.

Was a good time. Traffic is traffic in San Francisco. Great driving and knowledgeable on the area. Definitely recommend to others who need to hit these spots on the same day.

Was picked up by Randall at the meeting place taken to the “view point” of the Golden Gate Bridge , which wasn’t a great view at all to be honest, he could have stopped before the bridge at the round house cafe for a much better view of the bridge. Then went to muir woods , where we were told how long we had and to be back at the bus by, and those that had booked the Alcatraz tour had to pay entry. After leaving there the girl sat in the front spoke to Randall about every airport in USA and the rest of the bus were ignored until Sausalito , we were then given an hour and 5 minutes for lunch, it was 11am by now! Leaving there we left for the ferry to Alcatraz where we were prompted about the 20% tip , a few got off early and didn’t give a tip so the remainder of us were told about it on the way to the next stop, I felt a little embarrassed. I feel it’s rude , already paid £120 for the trip, ignored most of the journey and then expected 20% tip of everybody, saying he accepts card as well as cash!! I believe tipping is if you deserve it, not just for “taxiing” us about, we were left at the pier to get the ferry to Alcatraz which is now a self guided tour, so why do I need to tip a glorified taxi driver. However muir woods, Sausalito and Alcatraz are all amazing places, we are going back to Sausalito Sunday to spend more time as was rushed

Muir Woods - 1 hour - tickets to Muir Woods not included. Enough time to walk the designated trail but not enough time to stop and appreciate the woods or take photos.
Sausalito - nice little quaint town. 1 hour 15 min. Too long for walk without lunch, yet too short for lunch. Doesnt allow passengers to rest in the vehicle when too early for departure.
Tour guide - Dustin - feels like he is very disinterested overall. Threatens to leave passengers behind at every location if they are not there on time.

Thank you for your review. We’d like to clarify a few important points, as some details in your comment are not accurate.
• Muir Woods stop is 1 hour and 15 minutes, not 1 hour. This duration is intentionally designed to allow a typical guest to complete the main loop, stop to take photos, read interpretive signs, and visit the café and gift shop if desired.
• Sausalito stop is 1 hour, which is sufficient either for a sit-down meal or a longer walk and exploration of the town.
The tour timing and the exclusion of the Muir Woods entrance fee are clearly stated in the listing prior to booking. We intentionally do not bundle the entrance fee because National Park pass holders, veterans, active-duty military, seniors, and other eligible guests receive free or discounted access, and we do not want to charge those guests unnecessarily.
Regarding vehicle access in Sausalito: for safety, insurance, and scheduling reasons, the vehicle cannot be used as a waiting area during free time. This policy applies to all guests equally. If time was perceived as insufficient, it is unclear why returning early and waiting in the vehicle would have been preferable.
Finally, guides are required to clearly communicate departure times. This is not a threat but a necessity to ensure fairness and punctuality for the entire group. One late return impacts all passengers and downstream connections.

Alcatraz has been closed for a week for dock repairs. This was disclosed within an hour of booking, but Viator just needs to take the option off the site.
Muir Woods and Sausalito were beautiful. Randall did a great job driving, I felt safe on the edge of the mountain with him. He provided us with many SF facts that I was not aware of.
