Amazing tour! Beautiful wineries with the perfect balance of information and individual time to relax with the group. Kirill was very knowledgeable about SF and Napa, but also very entertaining with his sharp witted commentary. We really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend to anyone!

Ulrich was wonderful! I learned so much about the area and wines from him. Would definitely do this tour again

I booked this tour months ago and received an email a day and a half before the tour saying it was canceled with no explanation.
Response from Host, May 2022
Dear Maureen, we had to cancel this tour because we did not have enough passengers to run it. AND I SENT YOU AND EXPLANATION:
Dear Maureen, we are very sorry but we will not run this tour on Friday.
We can fully refund you or we can offer you a Half-Day Wine tour to Sonoma on that day,
it starts at 1130, costs $99 per person, 2 tastings, one is included and the second is about $25 per person. Then we will go to Sonoma Square for lunch.
Please let us know.
The next time we will run Vintage wine tour will be on Monday, May 9th.
Thank you very much and very very sorry again,
Kirill Sobolev, owner of atasteofsf.com
AS YOU CAN SEE, WE OFFERED YOU MANY OPTIONS. APPARENTLY, YOU DID NOT EVEN WANT TO READ THEM. WE CAN NOT RUN TOURS FOR 2 PEOPLE AND IT IS CLEARLY EXPLAINED ON OUR PAGE.

I booked this trip for my sister trip to celebrate my birthday. It was originally scheduled for Saturday 20th, and they called saying it would need to be moved to Friday unless I wanted to cancel- due to scheduling conflicts.
I rearranged our plans to accommodate so we could attend Friday.
Our driver was late but did call to let us know- super awesome.
We began our journey after we picked everyone up and they were all speaking German the whole time which made us feel left out.
When we arrived to the 1st winery - V. sattui- awesome place- we didn’t get to enjoy-we didn’t get to be in the facility tho there was ample space. We didn’t even get to enjoy their amazing our door area, but we were led to the back area with EZ ups in the dirt to be directed through the wine tasting with our driver. We did get the wine from the facility- but it was raining, cold, outside, and in plastic cups and was so uncomfortable and hurried that we left in a rush onto our next spot.
Next we went to a private facility Peter something- the guy didn’t talk to us, about his wine, didn’t offer any commentary other than he runs the whole show. Again - outside, but it was a covered patio and had heaters, thankfully. I bet it’s pretty on a clear day. His 4 dogs were beautiful and friendly and jumping on all the guests (which upset some people getting all dirty) with no avail for help. We left quickly.
I would not recommend that place.
The 3rd winery was Homeland (the only one on the list of where we were told we were going) which was pleasant- fun and engaging operators and I would recommend them.
The issue I had more than anything- other than being outside all day in the rain, not having proper hosts for the amount of money that we paid, was the driver was very clear that he was not the original driver and he was filling in and was especially verbal about how important it was that we tipped him -each of us- individually, 20%. He mentioned it at least six times and actually gave us a dollar amount of what was appropriate.
At they end of the day, I gave him money, he looked at it, and told me “this was not nearly enough. This was barely enough to cover one person”. It was a $30 tip. He was so aggressive about it, that my sister felt so guilty and pulled out more money to give him.
We gave him a $30 tip, that to me was above and beyond for the day that we had just had.
then he had the audacity to tell me that it wasn’t enough and that he deserved and needed more.
I would not recommend this tour.
We had so much fun on the other tour that we did- I would recommend tower tours over this small vintage tour any day.
It could have just been a fluke day, but I did not feel taken care of and I felt shuffled around and overall it was terrible birthday experience.
I would also like to add that I am in the service industry, and I am very well-versed in wine country, wineries and typical protocol.
This was the least kind experience I’ve ever had.
Bummer.

This wine tour was absolutely amazing. Jerry made this experience one of a kind. He is so knowledgeable about the area and wine so it made the drive up to Napa and Sonoma all the better. I would highly recommend this tour when you are visiting.

Great tour. Tour guide Jared was very helpful and knowledgeable. Wish we did more wineries with more variety of wines. But overall fantastic

Jerry was an amazing host. We booked last minute yet the communication was awesome between the company and us. We visited three wineries between Sonoma and Napa. Jerry gave a descriptive tour along the way and at all three wineries. We traveled with our son and met three other couples from around the country and Australia.
The wine choices at all were amazing. We had an option to purchase food at the first and third wineries.
When booking our trip to the west coast we couldn’t decide whether to visit Napa or Sonoma and this was an excellent way to experience both. We look forward to coming back for a longer visit.
The three wineries we visited were Vinansa, Homewood (both in Sonoma) and V. Sattui winery (in Napa). All three were so very different.
Allison_H, May 2021
Owner of company was very rude and tried to cancel the day before. When I complained, he sent a tour guide however the wineries we went to were not the ones listed on this page, they were not “vintage”, they were very cheap. Our tour guide was great, however the company and wineries were very disappointing. I would book somewhere else where you are getting the wineries you paid for.
Response from Host, Jun 2021
Dear Allison, our website, our Viator page, and our website say that the minimum number of passengers required to run the tour is 3. I called you two days before the tour and told you that we will have to cancel the tour unless more people book and suggested waiting until the last minute. Two more people booked and the tour took place. it is the busiest weekend and people started coming, however
most wineries are either closed or open with limited capacity to keep a social distance so it is impossible to book anything.
Also, they significantly raised the prices. even Sattui is now $45. Even with 4 people, I barely make any profit, the satisfaction of my customers is more important than money. That is why I did my best to keep this tour running. I provided my personal car and our best tour guide. I am very sorry you still were so unhappy and feel that I was rude to you.
Please accept my sincere apologies. Next time you are in San Francisco, please contact our company so we can do a personal tour for you.

Are guide was very knowledgeable. He stopped at the Golden gate Bridge so we could take pictures. We went to several wineries. Had lunch. The whole experience was great. Highly recommend.
Steven_B, May 2021
Sattui vineyards. Best location of all 3. Very quaint buildings make u feel like you’re drinking in 19th Century England. The other 2 vineyards were not pretty. I tried to book myself since we had a car but the good vineyards w beautiful views and grounds or In castles were booked 1-2 weeks out. When didn’t even go to the places the rep on the phone said we were going to. And we skipped Yountville park. I’d try to find a better group of vineyards
Response from Host, May 2021
Dear Steven,
We are so sorry you are not happy with the tour.
After Covid, wineries in Napa significantly increased their tasting fees. Please take another tour with us, we will give you a discoutn.

We had an amazing time, Jerry was really great and had lots of interesting info! The wine that we had was also very good, and we were able to experience wine that we didn’t even know existed.
Response from Host, Apr 2021
Thank you very much.
Come again!

Wow- we have been on Viator tours for the past 3 years both domestically and internationally, and been happy with all of them. This one beats them all, primarily because of Jerry. A San Francisco native, Jerry gave us an entertaining, educational, relaxing, fun-filled trip from start to finish. Three diverse and top-notch wineries that we couldn’t imagine not visiting! We would take any tour that Jerry leads!! Thank you Viator and Jerry.
Response from Host, Apr 2021
Thank you. Come again!!!

Collected from our hotel by Steven from Portsmouth! who was our friendly and informative driver and guide for the day.
A lovely journey into Sonoma and Napa valleys with visits to 3 lovely small scale wineries. A small group so we didn't have long waits for anyone to get back on board and we had chance to chat while we tasted. Steven was a mine of information which he dispensed with humour so we didn't feel lectured to. The lunch break at Yountsville was great as we had time to have a decent lunch without feeling hurried. The lesson in wine tasting which we had at Homewood Winery was just fantastic, so laid back yet so on the mark! We now put that lesson into practical use at every opportunity.
The stop off by the Golden Gate Bridge gave us the chance to take some wonderful photos back towards the city. It's a full 9 hour day trip but worth every minute and every dollar. We have memories which will be a long time fading.
