The experience visiting Alcatraz was worth it and the bike ride across the Golden Gate was amazing. I didn’t rate a 5 due to the lack of information provided when booking. I had to send chat messages and emails to get details. I booked last minute so I didn’t have options to book with someone else and just hoped it worked it, which it did.

I went to Alcatraz and it was a lifetime dream because I use to watch films like Escape from Alcatraz and The Birdman from Alcatraz with my late father great place BUT paid 3 times the usual ticket price usually $50 because it was a high demand time. Bike place didn’t exist and was closed. Could not book a long time in advance as a family has a medical condition however lesson learned for future bucket list trips. Book in advance you can always cancel 72 hours if your situation changes. Thank you for the scam ripoff Viatour but I suppose your company has changed your name to another business name and company code. We were also scammed when we tried to get ballet tickets but luckily the money was refunded and we booked direct with the venue.
Check check check the company you use be smart and wise, book in advance so we can all vote with our feet and shut scammers like Viatour and others DOWN!

Your review is misleading.
You visited Alcatraz during Christmas week which had been sold out for weeks. We were able to get you on and here you still complained about it. Imagine if you could not get on the island at all? What price would you pay then?
You also visited during a terrible two day rain storm in San Francisco. The bike location was closed due to the rain and we automatically credited you the bikes.
Take your "scam" review down as it looks plain silly!

I am writing this review so that no one else falls in this trap. The voucher is VERY MUCH OVERPRICED, and I have to admit I was not smart enough to look into this deal. I received a biking voucher which could be used on the day of Alcatraz trip or the day after. The voucher has so much of limitations, with certain date limits. Plus UNLIMITED biking closes at 5 pm. PLEASE DON'T OVERPAY FOR THIS DEAL.

We showed up at 11 to rent our bikes and we were told there were none available even though there were 100’s of them. We should be able to reserve them some now since we’re only given one day to rent them. It shouldn’t be a first come first serve when we have clearly paid way over the value.

Your voucher actually stated you get to rent the bike on day one or the next date.
The bike location confirmed that they had bikes available all day long with no issues.

This tour is a fantastic way to see Alcatraz and the bay area! I recommend arriving at Pier 33 30 minutes early, as the queue racks up quite quickly. The Alcatraz experience was excellent - I thoroughly recommend exploring all areas of the island, as there are some great views of the city and Sausalito. There are also some great city views on the left side of the ferry on the way over, so be sure to get a seat on the left. I chose to use my bike voucher a day after Alcatraz, as I wanted some more time to explore the city. I rode across the bay into Sausalito, which was incredible as it was sheltered from the wind and fog. There is a ferry that takes you back to the fisherman's wharf, however, I chose to ride back across the bridge in the hopes of getting some clearer photos of the GG Bridge. I rode a total distance of about 30km return and was stoked with the experience. Definitely worthwhile!

The huge surprise is that the indigenous peoples took over the island in the 60s and bargained for better treatment by the US govt! Touché 👍🏻👍🏻
The birds are phenomenal! Do take a quiet walk down the paths surrounding the prison and be amazed by the gardens and unusual birds.
We were able to delay our bike ride until the next day and that was soooo great: we had a whole day to ride over the Golden Gate, into Sausalito (take ferry back) and to go to various places all over SF in the safe, bike-only lanes.
Christian at unlimited biking also gave us great restaurant suggestions and adjusted our bikes perfectly to our comfort.

I loved the history of the buildings itself. I had no idea there was living corridors on the island with family and stuff. The island is full of birds and it’s so beautiful and fun to learn everything there.

The most memorable was learning about the prisoners such as Al Capone and others. Seeing their recreational center with the many steps and seeing where they played baseball. The most memorable was seeing the fake heads used by the two escape prisoners and the hole they made to escape through.

Great experience. Alcatraz was very interesting and the day on the bikes so fun. We rode them over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito, had lunch and took the ferry back. Everyone was so nice and even offered suggestions on restaurants.

Thank you for understanding with the small wait. The bike location is a mom and pop location who has two stores on the same street to bounce between.
Business is very slow due to covid so the need for an all day staff is not warranted so the owner is on call. You were our only guests that day so he was expecting you when you arrived to come assist within a few minutes. We appreciated your patience in waiting on him to arrive to make your day special. You guys are awesome and we thank you for the five stars!

My husband and I had an excellent experience with Viator and Tour More Partners when we were in San Francisco. We did the Alcatraz tour and bike rental. The tour was amazing and informative! It was way more than expected. The instructions to the ferry pier and throughout the tour was clean and easy for us. Tour More Partners was more than happy to help us when our travel plans got delayed unexpected. They changed our tour times free of charge. They are extremely responsive over email and there for their customers! Highly recommended by us. We will continue to us both vendors in the future.

Post covid experience, the waiting location was lovely. They made sure to take everyone temperature and would say something if a guest was wearing their mask improperly or not at all. The boat ride over was amazing. The chairs were spaced out and upon arrival they sanitized everything down. The actually trip was the best experience I had in SF. I’m a big history nerd and so is my family. We absolutely loved the cell tour. We downloaded the app on our phones and off we went. Such a wonderful experience. Because of covid-19 you are not able to go into the cells anymore but still truly spectacular. A must if you’re traveling to SF. After the tour we explored the rock on our own and it was such a great experience. It is a work out climbing those four steep hills but boy is it worth the climb!
