First time experiencing Sintra and I feel like I received the best possible introduction to and tour of this beautiful city. Our guide, Filipa, was phenomenal! Thorough, knowledgeable, funny and kind. We also loved our small group. The van arrived on time and the pickup location instructions were clear. The van was comfortable. This tour was special because all tickets were pre-arranged and the major highlights of Sintra are included. Filipa even successfully advocated for our group to gain admission during our assigned time slot despite the crowds and long lines. I would absolutely take this tour again and recommend it to anyone seeking a top notch tour of Sintra.

We had an amazing experience on this tour! Our guide André made sure we were the first people in line for Pena Palace. He even booked it up the hill to make sure we kept our spot as first in line while we walked up on our own time! We had some free time in the town for a coffee and a little bit of shopping before our tour of Regaleira palace. He guided us around the grounds and then gave us a little bit of free time to finish exploring. We then had lunch in the Sintra town center, and following his recommendation, we had a delicious and traditional Portuguese lunch. André gave us so much information at each stop as well as general history and recommendations about Lisbon and Portugal. We had plenty of time in each location to get to explore and take pictures. We got back to the Lisbon city center around 3:30 in the afternoon, so we still had a good chunk of the day to explore. If anyone is looking for a day trip to Sintra, this should be your pick!
1. All of the tickets were organized and included in the price. One payment/booking and that’s it.
2. Great pacing and time at each stop. We didn’t feel rushed at all and the day felt relaxed while we were seeing and doing lots.
3. Probably the most important—the guide! André was such an interesting and informative guide. He loved to talk about the history of his country and his life experience, making for a very fun and interesting tour. We learned so much and were impressed at the amount of information he provided us.
I would repeat this tour and would love to take other tours with this group. The quality is unmatched. Thank you for making this a highlight of our trip to Portugal.

This tour was exactly what we were looking for. Small group, very professional and knowledgeable guide (from 'Portugal for a Day Tours') and a very comfortable vehicle. The guide was wonderful in taking us around, providing fun photo ops and giving recommendations for lunch and coffee during the day. Would highly recommend this tour.

This day tour to Sintra was perfect from the beginning through to the end. We didn’t need to worry about standing in line or buying tickets. She took care of everything. The coffee/pastry and lunch stop recommendations were fabulous. Timing of the tour was at a comfortable perfect pace to see everything without standing around or going too fast to miss anything. I can’t recommend this Sintra day trip enough.

Pick this tour! Highly recommend going with Andre - he ensured we were first in line for entrance at the Pena palace and so we missed all of the traffic and craziness on the way out (which was insane!!!). Worth it to get up early to get there! Tickets are included with this tour whereas there were plenty others we almost picked that appeared to trick you into what they cover or not (pay for tickets when you get there, don't go inside the actual palace, etc.). Andre was super knowledgeable, a great driver in a nice comfortable van, and the tour was nicely timed. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend!

The tour started punctually, bright and early making it lovely experience of short queues. E was knowledgeable and willingly shared and answered our questions. We had the most amazing Castle and History tour with Filipa in Lisbon. Filipa went over and beyond to ensure we got a feel of what the historical Monarchy life was like for both the wealthy and the common folk. She provided a balanced mix of Lisbon’s history, architecture, landscape and modern day life.

Our tour guide, Filipa at ‘Portuguese for a day’, was exceptional. Not only was she very knowledgeable, but she catered the tour to our interest and kept us engaged the entire time. She knew how to get us the right experience. She kept us at a perfect schedule. She knew exactly the right times to arrive at every location. Through the tour she baked in time for us to explore on our. She is extremely experienced and clearly knows all the people and has the right access and information and she made us feel very comfortable.

We went on the Sintra tour. Philippa is an outstanding, gifted guide. She shares the right information at the right time in the right tone. She reads the room; she is intuitive and engaging. She managed my mom's mobility issues with clarity and discretion so that my mom participated to the fullest extent and never felt singled out or excluded. She had loads of information to share, but never overloaded us. She also is prepared and organized and clearly takes pride in getting her group in before the crowds, with everything arranged in advance. I felt that the other guides and the staff at the historical sites respect her. She's also a great driver.
We had two other guides during our holiday (from different organizations), both of whom had overenthusiastic canned jokes and patter, which made us feel like cogs in a tourist trap.
I highly recommend this tour but also any tour to any region with this lovely guide. Our whole family was pleased. Even though it was a bit rainy, that only made the high palace misty and enchanted.

We had a great time on this tour! Our guide, Philipa, was informative, kind, funny and kept an upbeat energy the entire tour. She was also helpful with lunch recommendations and knew where all the good spots to take pictures were. There was definitely a good chunk of walking involved in the tour so be prepared for that. Our guide had the whole day planned to perfection so we were able to avoid a lot of the crowds. She also provided us with some rain coats when it started to drizzle. Would definitely recommend booking!

This day trip to Sintra and its castle and palace was really fun! Philippa was a an extremely vknowledgeable guide and got our party in first to many of the attractions. She was thoughtful about us being able to climb the steep hills to the Sintra attractions. And there are hefty hills to climb as it's built on a mountain. It's like visiting a real life fairyland. We had a great time and very much recommend this tour.

Came to Lisbon with our son and fiancé for the first time. While we had a foggy day, we had a wonderful time visiting the castle and cave gardens. A must see ! Filipa is very knowledgeable about sharing the history and culture of Sintra and what I appreciate the most from her is her sense of timing. She knew the best times and places to get to our destinations so we had very little wait times to avoid all the crowds which we appreciated very much!! Thank you Filipa!

Stunning tour with an amazing guide! André was incredibly entertaining and knowledgeable. The sites themselves were beautiful & André did a great job providing neat background information and interesting facts. The region is a little hilly, but as long as you wear comfy shoes you’ll be fine. André was very accommodative and made sure everyone was comfortable. He also arranged lunch for us at a bustling tapas restaurant — we skipped a massive line & the food was delicious! 10/10 recommend.

We had an excellent time on this tour of Sintra, Quinta da Regaleira, and Cabo da Roca. Our guide, Felipa/Filipa, was amazing! She timed everything perfectly so we could enjoy the sites without feeling rushed and made sure we had plenty of time to take photos at the best spots. Her knowledge and organization made the day feel effortless, and the length of the tour was just right — full of experiences without being overwhelming.
