Day trip to Douro Valley

This was a good tour, we were picked up from Porto in a small group of 8 and driven first to a boat trip, then lunch at one winery, then a viewpoint stop and ending on another winery. There’s a lot of driving & the roads are quite high and twisty so if you’re not great with heights/edges I’d stay away. Our guide, Alex, was a good driver and personable. The beauty of the Douro Valley and the lovely weather did a lot of heavy lifting for us. The boat tour was fine - it was a bit slow, so we only saw a small section of the river. The guys running it were really friendly. Lunch decent, and the second winery we visited - Quinta da Foz in Pinhão - was great, with guide Joana really making it special for us. It’s a solid trip that gets you to Douro, just be aware it’s lots of driving.

Wonderful Day In DUORO

We had a wonderful day exploring the Duoro Valley with our host Ricardo and the other 6 guests on our tour.. Ricardo pointed out spots along our drive into the valley. We stopped at a beautiful lookout point before heading to the beautiful D'Origem winery. We learned how they produce their olive oil as well as their delicious port and table wines. We enjoyed several of each while enjoying the scenic view of the valley. After our wine tasting we headed to town for a wonderful lunch with our small group. The food was very good and the wines were plentiful and very good. Thank you Ricardo for hosting the perfect Easter in Duoro Valley.

What a lovely experience!

Among all the other choices, we booked this particular one because of all the 5 star reviews, and it did not disappoint! The marina was easy to get to. We were not sure if we were in the right place, but they came at the exact time and found us. There were obviously other people in the group, but the yacht was large and gorgeous and did not feel crowded at all. The food and drinks were amazing, and the crew members were so kind and friendly. It was so relaxing to sit under the sun (or the shade if you prefer) and enjoy the water and the scenery around us. Our teenage kids enjoyed it very much, and they said this was their favorite activity! Our visit to Porto would not have been the same without this cruise!

An Unforgettable Lisbon Food Tour with Granado

Granado was absolutely outstanding as a guide for our food tour in Lisbon. His descriptions of the historical places were excellent, rich, engaging, and full of context that made the city come alive. He did not just walk us through Lisbon, she made us understand it. His food choices were equally impressive. Every stop felt carefully selected, and her explanations of the dishes, ingredients, and local traditions added so much depth to the experience. It was not just about eating great food, it was about understanding why these foods matter in Lisbon’s culture. The overall selection of places to visit was superb. Granado clearly knows the city extremely well and has a great eye for combining history, atmosphere, and truly memorable food. This tour was one of the highlights of our time in Lisbon, and I would recommend her without hesitation.

It was excellent. We just got to Porto and Diego our guide (Awesome! Ask for him!) gave us a 2 hour overview tour of Porto. We were actually super interested to see how close the ocean was so he included a stop at a beautiful point so we could see the ocean! Wonderful guide and tour company!

Braga is Gorgeous! Must see!

Jose and Rui were the BEST guides! Our GPS took us on an exhausting trip up and down a zillion stairs so my tip is to go visit the meeting spot before your tour if you are walking, the terrain throws off the GPS because its literally straight up and down a cliff side. Stunning to see but not much fun to climb in a time crunch! LOL BUT, Living Tours and Jose were patient and super helpful, encouraging us to keep going in our climb back to the top, that they were waiting! And we made it!! We were SO grateful! We are so glad we did not miss out! Braga is stunning! Probably my second favorite place Ive been to next to Rome. The art, history and architecture is out of this world! We were there during a spring flower bloom that was beautiful. Guimaeres is also lovely, but I'll be honest.. I was so worn out by our morning climb that at that point I missed a lot, glad I took a ton of photos. We highly recommend this tour with this company. We were well cared for. Jose made tons of suggestions for lunch or snacks and check in with each of us along the way, answering all of our questions. I cant recommend this tour enough! Oh, another tip: make sure you wear sneakers and have water on hand. Its a lot of lovely walking over cobblestones and as it gets warmer you will want something on hand to drink.

Spectacular views, delicious wine

What a place. Spectacular views. Vasco, our guide, was knowledgeable, informative, and funny. Kept us laughing on the drive up and down. Started off rainy, but cleared up at Duoro. We must have tasted 10 varieties of wine. Excellent lunch. We are vegetarians and they had cooked a special meal for just the two of us. Mushroom risotto, lipsmacking indeed. Extremely memorable tour. Highly recommend.
