A wonderful day trip to Sintra to see Peña Palace and Quinta de Regaleira grounds and the initiation well. Francisco was our guide and we really enjoyed his company from start to finish. Knowledgeable about the history of the area and very personable as well.

It would have been a great experience if we got to go. Sofia was great but unfortunately due to the wildfires the tour was cancelled and we never got to go. The only thing I didn’t like was I had to request the refund even though it was t us who cancelled. I think this should have been handled through them not us. .

Dear Jennifer, we hope you are doing well. We appreciate your feedback and will improve upon. However, it's important to clarify that it was your final decision to not go on the tour and that's also why you needed to be the one to ask for the refund - which we approved 100% without a debate. By the time of your booking, there were about 35 active fires in Portugal. Monuments in Sintra we're shut down due to direct orders of portuguese civil protection in order to prevent a very difficult evacuation in case of fire in that area. When this happens nobody knows until last minute if the attractions are going to open the next day because there are so many variants that need to be aligned for it to be safe to open again. We do fully understand that it can be a bit frustrating not being able to see the attractions we wished in the first place. However, we feel that a 1* review was a bit unfair to our teams efforts of still showing you Sintra in the best way possible within the available means. This is an issue that is completely out of our control. Our team spoke to you about the issue ahead of time, was honest with you, gave you an alternative route and kept you posted. And as soon you decided you preferred to be refunded we completely respected that and told you the refund would be fully approved, which it was. We tried to be as communicative as possible in this situation. We spend a lot of time trying to improve our work, but there’s a few things - like this situation - that are out of our control. What a delightful day we had on this trip to Sintra! João was a wonderful guide! He not only knew so much history to share as we toured the various sites, but he also was caring, courteous, and so much fun! You will not be disappointed taking this full-day tour. (Just be prepared to walk a few hills through beautiful grounds at Pena Palace).

Great tour around Sintra. I had a smaller group and it felt more personalized and meaningful. I've heard locals talk highly of the Sintra area. It's gorgeous and felt more of an "authentic" representation of Portugal. Joao F. my guide was fantastic. Really friendly and knowledgeable. He helped my experience enjoyable. I would recommend this experience.

We lived our day. Everything was well organised. We really liked Pena but even more Regaleira. But what made a big difference was our guide Francisco. Very nice person, knowledgable, he told us the hole story of Portugal with anecdotes and fun facts. For lunch he recommended a typical local restaurant. A perfect day.

We had a wonderful time in Sintra! Our guide Francisco was great and very knowledgeable about Portuguese history and the sites in Sintra. We enjoyed being in a small group and felt like we spent the right amount of time at each location. My one suggestion for improvement was that the ticket purchase experience for the sites was a little confusing. In addition to purchasing the tour, we had to separately purchase tickets for each of the sites. Some members of our group had issues purchasing tickets, so they weren't able to get tickets for the times. Would recommend that the tickets are purchased centrally and included in the overall cost.

Great tour!

Sintra was magical. I would definitely recommend a stop here. We saw two different palaces and our guide João was great! He took us to a local restaurant with the best food! The only part that was surprising for me was that we wound up walking about 7 miles - at least half of them uphill. I would suggest being prepared for this with comfortable walking shoes, water, etc. the guide was very nice walking slow as we trailed behind.

Wonderful tour. Perfect amount of time spent at each location. The lunch in the square was so good and would highly recommend taking the tour guides recommendation and eat lunch together with your fellow travelers. So much fun.

My husband and I had a super fun tour with Joao! He was very knowledgable and brought a nice vibe. The places we visited were beautiful and we felt like we had enough time at each. There is a decent amount of walking uphill, which we were prepared for, but not everyone in the tour was which required some waiting. Overall had a nice time and would recommend if you want a quick and easy day trip.

This was a private tour ,and it was wonderful, we visited the pena palace, ,walk a little in sintra and then visit regaleira .All were really interesting, it wasn't too any people wich was even better and we had plenty of time in each place .The tour guide Joao was the best ,patient and knowledgeable and took all the pictures I want .He took us to a lot of hidden spots and told us interesting stories. Patrik the polyglot was our guide for the day. He is able to speak five languages, is very knowledgeable and was nice and helpful throughout the day. Small group which was great. If time permits a visit to Sintra is recommend. Especially to Sintra village and to the amazing Quinta da Regaleira - a spectacular place!

However, we don't feel like this is a fair review for our team as it's not our team fault the hilly streets of Lisbon region and the rest of the country. Also we cannot predict the physical level and mobility of each guest before you book. Our guides always try to help everyone providing as much assistance as possible, driving as much as we can. Helping with transfer inside of the attractions when there's one. We balance the walking with lots of stops for explanations so everyone can rest a bit. We always recommend people to bring comfortable shoes as well. But we can not change the nature of the infrastructure of Sintra in general, thats beyond our control. Thank you for understanding. Having a limited time we took this tour to Sintra. The guide was personable, and knowledgeable about Sintra. He took us to the best parts of Sintra and explained the history of the area. He gave advice on where and what to eat. If we had gone to Sintra on our own I think we would have missed out on the history of the place and wasted a lot of time wondering around.
