Great tour at the university
Filipe was a great tour guide, especially since he is a graduate of the university. He was very knowledgeable and explained a lot of history that was helpful to fully understand the university, now and in the past. He also gave restaurant and cafe recommendations for the group.

One of the best tours we had in Portugal!
One of the best tours we had in Portugal! Monica, our guide, was knowledgeable, passionate, and highly professional. She spoke excellent English and answered all our questions with clarity and enthusiasm. She also pointed out details we would never have noticed or understood on our own.
We’re very glad we chose to book a tour, as the Convent of Christ in Tomar is a truly spectacular site with a rich history—one that now feels much more meaningful to us. Thank you very much!

Excellent Tour of Coimbra University
We were fortunate to be the only couple led by Sara Cruz, who was a thoughtful, well informed, and personable guide. As a former law student at Coimbra University, she provided humorous anecdotes about student life and a wealth of historical knowledge about the University and the town of Coimbra itself. While we weren’t able to spend much time in the fabled Library nor take any photos, Sara was able to make the most of the situation by pointing out interesting aspects of the books, the vault, and the history. Sara exceeded our high expectations and we would recommend her and the tour highly.

Morning tour of Schist Villages
We had an enjoyable morning touring the Schist Villages with our guide Alfredo. Alfredo was very knowledgeable about the region and its history. He was also good navigating the steep and windy roads! The villages are stunning and a look into how past peoples lived and of course many of the cottages are being restored and are able to be rented. We stopped at our final village and ordered espresso and the local liquor before heading back to Coimbra. Fun morning!

Perfect way to learn Fatima
This is a wonderful way to see Fatima and learn all the spiritual history about the Blessed Mother and the apparitions. Not only do you see the basilicas, but you also visit the village the children were from along with their homes. Rita is an excellent and knowledgeable guide who gave me and my mother an amazing tour!

Excellent experience, a highlight of my first trip to Portugal! Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, had a nice sense of humor. Loved visiting the university, especially the library (the bats and cats! 💜). What I learned in this tour about the university and the city actually helped me understand other places as well. Really worth it!

Excellent introduction to Coimbra
Jose was a fantastic guide! So knowledgeable, with a great energy and sense of humor. He shared stories and information that everyone on the tour — from kids to seniors — could appreciate. We covered all of the main sites at a steady pace, stopping for photos along the way. Also gave a lot of valuable recommendations for restaurants and other sites to visit.

A Perfect Guide: Engagement, Knowledge, & Laughter
Mark turned what could have been a standard sightseeing walk into something memorable: something we’ll talk about long after the trip ends.
His engagement, delivery, knowledge, and sense of humour made our time there truly unforgettable.
Thank you again for sharing your passion, energy, and laughter with us, Mark. We won’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone visiting Tomar — you helped make our journey special.

Tour was small and the guide (Alfredo) was friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Our family of four comprised the whole tour so we were able to go at our own speed the whole time. Tour includes two small archeological museums in addition to the Conímbriga Roman ruins. Be aware that you have to pay separate museum admissions. We thought the trip was totally worth it.

Xist (Schist) Village Tour
It was a great tour off the regular tourist track. Our guide Pedro gave us a lot of history and explanation. He was a wealth of information not just about the villages but Portugal in general. He gave us plenty of time to walk around and take in the beautiful, picturesque villages. Highly recommend if you are in Coimbra.
