Great tour of western Sao Miguel
Wonderful full day tour of the Western part of Sao Miguel. Saw beautiful vistas, ocean rock formations, volcanic beaches, waterfalls-an amazing island! Our tour guide from Pure Azores, Manuel, was excellent! Very knowledgeable, friendly, fun and focused on providing a great experience. Would highly recommend this tour.

Best way to see the caldera.
Driving ATV’s we left the town and climbed the ancient volcano. Stopping to see an impressive aqueduct. We toured around the rim of the caldera experiencing fantastic views. Unlike 4-wheel truck tours, we experience nature the whole time, not just when the the truck stopped. The guide was experienced, friendly and knowledgeable.

Absolutely Outstanding Tour with Joaquin - The Highlight of Our Azores Visit!
If you’re visiting Ponta Delgada and thinking about exploring Furnas, do yourself a favor and book this tour… and hope you get Joaquin.
From the moment we were picked up at the port, everything was seamless and stress-free. Joaquin wasn’t just a driver, he was an incredible guide who brought the entire island to life. His knowledge of the Azores, especially the volcanic history of Furnas, was impressive, but what really stood out was how naturally he shared it. It never felt like a lecture, more like traveling with a very knowledgeable friend who genuinely loves where he lives.
The small group made a huge difference. We never felt rushed, and Joaquin tailored the experience so it felt personal rather than scripted. As we drove through the countryside, the views were already stunning, but his commentary added so much depth. Every stop had context, stories, and little details we would have completely missed on our own.
Furnas itself is something else entirely. Seeing the volcanic activity up close at the lake, learning about the traditional cooking methods, and then soaking in the thermal hot springs was just unreal. Sitting in those warm mineral waters surrounded by lush greenery felt like something out of another world.
Joaquin made sure we experienced the best of everything, from scenic viewpoints to hidden gems, all while keeping the day relaxed and enjoyable. The transportation was comfortable, the timing was perfect, and the entire experience felt incredibly well thought out.
This wasn’t just a tour, it was one of those travel days you end up talking about long after the trip is over.
If you get Joaquin as your guide, you’ve already won.

Fun, informative way to see the city
What a fun, easy way to see the city! Tomas was a knowledgeable, kind guide that took us to interesting highlights of the historic district and the surrounding area. We could stop and get out to enter churches and take photos. Our guide also provided information at the pineapple plantation where we had time to walk through the greenhouses, get a snack, and browse the shop. We covered more area than would have been easy on foot. I highly recommend this tour!

Challenge yourself to an memorable and offbeat activity
Expect fun and facing new challeges. The hike up was UP but took several breaks before getting in the creek heading down.
The guides are really helpful to insure safety and good education for each repel, jump and how to walk in the creek with boulders. There is an area by the shop to change your swim suit to dry clothes. I came on a cruise ship to Ponta Delgada. I walked across the street to the Grand Hotel where I was picked up. All safe and not confusing. About a 45 min drive to the park. I am a active 76 yr old female. The hike and water activities were not to difficult but you need some sense to walk in, around and over rocks.
Please go and make a forever memory in the most beautiful and safe jungle I have enjoyed.

Great fun despite the weather!
Even though the weather did not cooperate as we experienced a lot of fog in Sete Cidades and some rain during the ride, our guide, Bruno, was able to turn the tour into a fun experience with the buggy! Even with the bad weather, it was a very good and fun experience. Thank you for your time, Bruno!

Gabriel and the Thermal Baths
Gabriel was our guide and he was amazing. He had a perfectly tired arrival to our hotel, gathered us water and towels for our trip and we set off in a clean and safe roomy SUV.
Gabriel navigated the Azorean countryside with ease as we drove up through beautiful farmland and through small towns to the overlook of our destination. He explained the flora and fauna of the islands and detailed the rich history of Portugal and its heritage islands.
The tour of Furnace was amazing and the baths entry was smooth and easy. The facilities were well taken care of and secure. The baths were relaxing and calm and the hour and a half was plenty of time to unwind before our journey back to our hotel.
10/10 would highly recommend this intimate and romantic adventure!

Awesome!
The 2-day tours was really nice. Andrea, our tour guide, was absolutely fantastic, one of the best tour guides. She kept everything super flexible, told us everything important about the stops, and told brought us to the best spots. Really great tour, highly recommend. It's an easy way to see pretty much everything important completely hassle-free!

Fun time!
Marco and Maria were fantastic! Took into consideration our dietary issues. Started with a breakfast we had a 10 am tour and progressed through various Portuguese establishments. Enjoyed a little bit of the history of the town and foods. Would recommend

“Off-Season”? Not my experience!
A wonderful experience! We were originally scheduled for Monday, but the weather wasn’t good so they rebooked us to the tour on Tuesday. This may be the “off-season” for whale watching, but we saw some majestic animals- common dolphins, pilot dolphins, and even a sperm whale. My only recommendation is that it can be rough on the speed boat, so make sure you are prepared for that if you get motion sickness. Also, our biologist was so knowledgeable about the whales and his excitement for the job was palpable!

Jeep fun!!
This experience allowed us to see a good portion of this beautiful island by hitting many spots of interest. Sergio was an outstanding tour guide and very knowledgeable, as well as accommodating of any special requests. Definitely a must do when you’re only able to stay a few days on São Miguel.

Great activity for all levels
Very inclusive — we were part of a group of people with a range of fitness levels, but our guide made sure that we could all participate safely and that no one was left behind. We experienced wonderful views and learned about the history of the area—a great activity! (Tip on finding the meeting spot—your GPS may tell you it’s the 3rd exit in the roundabout—but for us, it was the 4th exit. If you take the wrong exit and wind up at the hotel ruins, you took the turn before the correct one.)

The Azores may only look like tiny specks on a globe, but this little archipelago brings a lot to the table—especially for travelers who love the great outdoors. Azores tours include 4WD excursions, canyoning and caving adventures for all skill levels, boat trips to look for whales and dolphins, visits to tea and pineapple plantations, and a chance to see the sparkling blue-green lakes that fill the craters of dormant Azores volcanoes.
