Roma Catacomb's tour

This was I tour that we hadn’t planned. We are so glad we found it on Viator. It is worth doing. Our guide Alain (sorry if spelling is incorrect) was fabulous so knowledgeable, good personality and fun. The bone decorations in the church were incredible. The bus to the catacombs was a great break from the heat. The catacombs and history was well worth the trip.

We had an excellent tour...

We had an excellent tour of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum with Georgia from Carpe Diem Tours. Georgia was outstanding. From the beginning, she did a remarkable job navigating our group through the very large crowds at the Colosseum. She was firm when she needed to be, but always polite and professional, which made what could have been an overwhelming experience feel organized and manageable. Her knowledge of Roman history was exceptional. She clearly knows the subject extremely well and was able to bring the history of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum to life rather than simply reciting facts. I also had an unexpected issue with my ticket. Despite being a fairly organized traveler, I had booked it using my nickname, while my identification showed my full legal name. As we discovered, the Colosseum takes the requirement that the name on the ticket match the visitor’s identification very seriously, and there was a real possibility that I would not be permitted to enter. Georgia immediately stepped in and handled the situation calmly and professionally. Her assistance navigating the issue was enormously appreciated and ultimately allowed us to continue with what became a wonderful experience. Just as importantly, Georgia was genuinely considerate of everyone in our group. She paid attention to whether people needed to use the restroom, take a short break, or simply have a moment before continuing. Despite covering a tremendous amount of ground, we never felt rushed or ignored. Georgia was knowledgeable, courteous, organized, and an absolute pleasure to spend the tour with. She turned what could have been a stressful start into a memorable day in Rome. I would highly recommend both Georgia and Carpe Diem Tours.

Pamela was absolutely fabulous! She was so knowledgeable, charismatic and a fantastic storyteller. The night walking tour was such a fun and unique way to experience Rome, and the stories brought the city’s darker history to life. It was also the perfect way to explore the city while avoiding the heat of the day. I enjoyed every minute and would highly recommend!

Perfect for the summer

The experience was very enjoyable. I got to discover new information about the history of Rome , both ancient and modern (with a focus on the ancient as the title suggests), through our excellent guide Joan. He was informative and friendly and made us all feel at ease. Hearing about the history helped me understand this city much better so I would recommend this tour. Also this part of rome is magical at night especially if you want to avoid the heat and the crowds.

Lovely evening experience

Was safe. A great confident guide with excellent knowledge. He winds through the very cool back streets working his way towards many famous attractions. Rome sites lit up at night was so good to see. Bikes were good, and for any Australians that only know our ebikes, these are much more powerful, so easy for someone who hasn't ridden a bike in decades to actually keep up and enjoy. Seeing the city back streets full of people seated at outside restaurants was a great experience in the warm balmy evening. Was a terrific experience and highly recommend.

Fun experience

A lovely and fun experience. Tour guide Ivan was knowledgeable and made the tour fun and interactive. He also answered our questions. I didn't realise the tour had come to an end until we reached the endpoint. A Big plus was the view of the sunset by the bridge at Castel Sant'Angelo (meeting point).

Hot but amazing tour

It was a wonderful experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. His name was Joseph. It was very hot today so at times I was wanting to go back to the hotel. I stuck it out and was I happy I did. The only thing I didn’t like was out tour was originally at 3:00 the was moved to 330 and once again to 345. If it wasn’t so hot it probably wouldn’t have mattered. I would recommend to friends

Sharon is the best tour guide we’ve ever had

It was educational and exciting. Learning from Sharon was amazing. We found out about local spots, the history of the city, and facts that one would have never known otherwise! Sharon is an incredible person who was very social and easy to talk too. She was so sweet towards us and was open to answer any questions we may have had. Overall, this was a great tour. There was a little confusion in finding the correct location to check in, as there were two similar offices on this street and no Viator signage. Once we found the correct location, it was great. It was super hot when we visited (Aug. 3), but the crowds were a little less than normal. Our director was originally from the U. S. and easy to understand. She provided several "insider" points of interest to our group, before entering, so we could be sure to look for them. The "skip the line" benefit worked great!

Antonio is an amazing guide. It was an unseasonably cold night but his interesting stories more than made up for the cold and windy weather. Fun night out

Interesting tour, and a way to see Rome at night feeling a little more secure. Our guide Semi was terrific. Informative and energetic. Also, he started the tour walking very briskly, and when I asked him to modify his pace for older folks in our group, he was very accommodating. Excellent guide for the tour.
