An Unforgettable Crypts & Catacombs Tour

My husband and I took this tour on September 18th, and it was one of the most unique and fascinating experiences of our trip to Rome. The Capuchin Crypts were unlike anything we had ever seen before. Learning about the Capuchin monks, the history behind the bone displays, why they were created, and how the practice later came to an end was incredibly interesting and educational. We also learned so much about the catacombs, including why they were located outside the ancient city of Rome and how they were used. Our guides did a fantastic job. We had two groups during the tour, and both guides were funny, knowledgeable, and engaging throughout the experience. Overall this was a memorable tour. It gave us a completely different perspective on Rome and its history, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for something unique beyond the traditional sights.

Great Tour

Bruno was an excellent tour guide- extremely knowledgeable, very calm, and kind. He kept us safe and was attentive to everyone. Our group was 7 people including the two of us. This was an excellent option to have on our first night in Rome to see the city spots and find out how to maneuver the streets.

Perfect introduction to Rome.

I took this Tour on my first night here, hoping it would make Rome feel a little less intimidating. It absolutely accomplished that goal. Sharon was lovely and seemed to charm her way around the city. She constantly kept track of everyone and made everyone feel welcomed. The best part - she gave us a chance to take photos at the stops, but also moved us right along so we could see everything.

Unending History Forever in the Making

There are no words to describe the massiveness and history of the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Palantine Hill. Our tour guide, Paola, was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and articulate. Her command of the history of these ruins was quite impressive. A beautiful afternoon and a highly recommended experience.

Our leader was Nick and he was wonderful! Great sense of humor, excellent grasp of an enormous amount of information. Definitely have to be able to handle stairs and rough paving, we were lucky to start early and have a bit of a break in the high temps Rome had been experiencing.

Good pace to get through the rooms. Has some steps but most people would have no issues. Wide, open and steady. Lots to see and marvel at inside. Can get hot, hand held fans help. Can take water in. Toilet at start and again if needed near Sistine chapel. Meeting point easy to find. Skips the big queues outside and guide can make shortcuts inside where busy. Let’s you enjoy Sistine chapel approx 15 mins solo. Not rushed. You meet them at back of chapel. Finishes, direct into basilica. Leaves you to discover basilica solo which is good after the museum.

Amazing Experience!

This 3 in 1 package is a steal! Being able to have access to the Coliseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill was very convenient especially since they’re all in the same vicinity. I will note, they really stick to arrival times so be sure to arrive early for your guide/pick up your tickets. We opted to do the audio guide and it was definitely worth it because the audio guide was so informative and easy to follow along. 10/10 highly recommend for your next trip to Rome.

One of the tours I...

One of the tours I enjoyed the most on our trip to Rome. Karen, our guide, was excellent - she interacted with everyone in the tour group and was very informative about these sites and their history and offered other help and information throughout, as she artfully guided us to a number of sites (both familiar and less familiar, often seen from a different vantage point and/or illuminated by flood lights against the night sky), all within very reasonable walking distance (and during much the cooler evening hours of August)

Great tour!

We loved this walking tour! We had a lot of fun and learned a lot. It was so nice to walk to city and see major sites at night when it was a little less crowded and much less hot. Our guide, Alena, was great! She was really nice, fun, and knowledgeable. The tour was a great mix of being taught by Alena and getting to walk around and see the site/take pictures for ourselves. We would definitely do this again, and I’d love to do another tour with Alena!
