The tour was just okay. It was sometimes hard to hear the guide, and the stories weren’t particularly ghostly or mysterious—more like historical anecdotes. While the guide was knowledgeable, they lacked the enthusiasm or delivery needed to bring the stories to life. Since it was a tip-based tour, it felt acceptable, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you have to pay upfront.

Being tip-based, our guides work harder than anyone to deliver an excellent experience — because if they don’t, they go home empty-handed. That is why our tours consistently receive 5-star reviews. We respect all opinions, but it is misleading to criticize a historical tour for not being “ghostly” enough, as we never claim to provide a theatrical show. Guests looking for genuine legends, chilling anecdotes, and real mysteries of Rome will absolutely enjoy this experience.

Ivan was a great guide. He had a lot of really good stories and shared some interesting history. I would definitely recommend this tour, however if you were hoping for something really scary, this won't quite do it.

Ivan the terrible

Ivan the tour leader really was terrible. His heavy accent and fast speech made it very, very difficult to understand him! Not to mention he wasn’t at the meeting point… and argued about it. He had a sign which he wasn’t holding up the 3 times we walked passed him…. And he was about 100m from the meeting point! But he did tell a good yarn, and his Dad jokes were on point! No ghosts seen, no chills and no goosebumps though, which is quite an effort given Romes bloody history! The photos did add another dimension to the talk though! Oh, and before the tour started he was spruiking for tips (he even takes cards!)

Good fun, light hearted & highly informative. Guide was jolly, witty & humourous! The 2hrs would be better served being compressed to 90mins. Simone (our guide) was well rehearsed, researched, knowledgeable, professional & fun to be around. Look you’re not going to have a paranormal experience, enter buildings, see a light orb or a ghostly apparition. It’s a low cost multiple stop location story tell tour with a reasonable tip at the end for your group.

Ivan’s Night Ghost Tour

Slightly confusing to find at the start but once we met Ivan and he started his tour it was a really great and fun experience! It went so fast eventhough it lasted 1 hour 30 minutes because it was so interesting and engaging throughout. Ivan was very knowledgable and passionate about Roman history and is a natural story teller with good jokes. Defiantly would recommend as a great way to spend a night to anyone visiting Rome!
