The tour was great, Josef was very good at his job, we came with our 16 years son and he enjoyed as well.
We learned so much from the tour. About the history of Roman Empire, about the neighborhood of the Collseum.
What helped us more to visualize how it used to look like is, that Joseph showed us photos of how it used to be.

Ursus (our guide, I hope I spelt it right) was outstanding. Great knowledge of the history of the colosseum, and very passionate. He could have been a great actor!
Unfortunately due to a heatwave our son couldn’t continue past the colosseum but I have no doubt that would have been great too.
Highly recommended.

At the outset itself I must specify, that I have always booked through Viator for all my experiences, across the world. And I have always had a 5 star experience. This particular experience I would like to believe is an aberration.
1. Location for pickup could easily have been improved. There was a clear Metro sign which could have been given as the location sign. All of us landed up at the pick up point whereas the guide was standing at the metro sign.
2. Should have had ear phones : the surroundings were noisy, the guide could not speak aloud and we could hardly follow what was said.
3. The guide was not as enthusiastic as we have always experienced in our other outings.
4. As a result , many guests dropped out mid-way itself and I don’t blame them as the experience was so boring.

Our guide had such a fun, infectious personality and was very knowledgable about the colosseum and forums… for us, it made experiencing the sites much more enjoyable because we learned a lot and laughed along the way. I wish I knew her name! As long as you bring water and a fan, the heat is bearable. If you want to learn about the history instead of just looking at the sites and googling on your phone, this is the way to go!

It was well organized and informative. However the groio size was too big. I was assigned to one grouo and then shifted to anither.

The title of the tour is a little bit misleading. We really didn’t tour the Colosseum at all. There was some information given about it outside the Colosseum, but it was hard to hear her with all the noises going on, and she had a soft voice. You might want to give her a microphone in a little speaker next time. From what I did hear, she was knowledgeable and did a good job but we left early.

This was an incredible tour. Usue is such an amazing guide! She knows so much, makes it interesting and it felt like the money I paid was totally worthy. Interesting, engaging, good views, she offered to take pictures, was able to answer all questions and even recommended nice places for lunch. I will definitely find more tours with her in my next visit.
In my groups there were kids and old people and she was always aware and double checking our wellbeing.

“Fee” was a knowledge guide well versed in Roman history. She welcomed questions and gave much information. The tour had much walking and climbing, yet fortunately she would pause periodically in the shade as she talked to give the group a bit of a rest. She presented in a lively, fun way that made Ancient Rome come alive.

The Tour Guide Selina is an archaelogist as well as a tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and ensured that we were taken to spots where we could get some great pictures. We were a group of 11 so it worked out very well. She was great at time management so we moved along at a nice steady pace. She allowed time for questions all throughout the tour. Her communications were very clear and included stories that were fun and interesting.
I would recommend this tour and Selina as a tour guide.

The history of the colosseum and knowing you are standing where others stood back in time was pretty cool. Even walking outside in the marketplace was interesting.

The best part of our tour was Paulo! He has a passion for Rome and the history of his city! He used people in the tour to re-enact the way Romans would have responded to the Emporor and helped us imagine what an event at the Colleseum would have been like. 5 Stars for Paulo! The colleseum was very crowded, but Paulo made sure we all stayed together.
Was a little disappointed in the lack of access to underneath the stage. We only got to walk around level 1 & a bit of 2. Would have liked to see more.

Disappointed with this trip, we purchased these tickets so we wouldn't have to queue. Not only did we have to wait 15 minutes past the start time of 9.30 for a family to arrive, we then had to queue for 45 minutes to get in, so much for skip the queue! We then has issues at security as another family didn't have ID for their children which was required to provide they were under 18. (Not Vintours fault)
We then had to queue again to get in to the Forum and didn't get in till 12, this tour was due to finish at 12.30 so didn't have long to hear about the history, even though the tour did run over a bit & we could stay in the forum afterwards, however after being on our feet for nearly 4 hours (as we were asked to arrive at 9.15) in the sun most people left to get food & drink & some shade.
I don't feel it wasn't worth the money when you can get tickets yourself & join a smaller individual queue to get in at the Colosseum quicker.

This was truly a disappointing experience! The tour organizer was incredibly unprofessional and difficult to get hold of. And when we finally got hold of them, they came with outright lies and untruths. The meeting place was poorly marked, unclear and the agreed place was full of tourists. When we finally found the group, the guide was very nice and knowledgeable. But that was also the only positive. By all means steer clear of this tour operator as it is not worth the money.

Going inside the colosseum and Forum with our guide, Barbara. She let us through and around the crowds to get to the sites, avoiding the massive lines waiting outside. We would never be able to do this on our own.
