The catacombs portion was wonderful! Our guide was knowledgeable, answered all sorts of questions, and had a great personality. However, the crypt portion of the tour was very short. We were supposed to be there an hour, and we were barely there 40 minutes. We didn’t get to see the majority of the museum and it felt very rushed.

I feel this tour was a good value. Very interesting. Paula was a magnificent guide. The artwork in Cappucin Friary is very particular and shouldn’t be missed. The sisters caring for Catacomb of Priscilla are thorough and knowledgeable, cared for our experience. Also a great tour. Thank you!

Our tour was great! She was very knowledgeable. We ran into some traffic delays but we still got to see everything and spend the full amount of time in the catacombs. Priscilla’s catacomb was by far our favorite and something we will remember for the rest of our lives. Getting to see the ancient paintings was so special.

The tour started promptly, we were taken to the capuchin crypts, you had to pass through the museum to see the crypts. We then were taken to the outskirts of Rome to another crypts and taken on a tour by sr Helena who spoke with such devotion . It was a truelly mesmerising experience

I loved this tour, it was one of my favorites in Rome. Sylvie was a fantastic guide, I couldn’t have asked for better. I do want to point out for future travelers that capuchin crypts is a museum & audio tour. The guide then gives you some great information in route to and from the catacombs. At the catacombs, there is a different guide. This was not an issue for me but would’ve liked to have known when I booked.

It’s essentially a very well organized tour of the capuchin crypts and catacombs of Pricilla. In theory you could organize this by yourself. You mostly pay for the tickets and the transportation between venues. You will have ‘three’ guides: One during transportation, an audio guide for the crypts, and a guide for the catacombs. The guides themselves were amazing: interested, funny, and excited about the topics at hand. Maria Rosa is great!

If bones is what you want, you get them in the crypt, arranged artistically, but no catacombs in rome have exposed bones anymore to protect them from destruction and out of respect for these early cristians, many of them martyrs. The prescilla catacomb is huge and has the oldest depection of the Virgin Mary in the world, and 250 A.D. drawings of christ.... the nuns providing the Tour are incredible scholars. Best tour of the whole trip for me, being catholic, life changing to see the early christians frescas depicting biblical events not as morphed by time or the Renaissance. Go to that one for the drawings, not the bones.

This tour was the highlight of my family's trip to Rome. Sam is an excellent tour guide and the catacombs portion was remarkable.
This tour is split in 2, with the first portion being a tour of the monastery, followed by a bus ride to the catacombs. The monastery portion is an audio guide but the art is stunning. The catacombs portion was a live tour guide which was much better. During the bus ride, Sam gave us very interesting historical and cultural information.
The tour guide for the catacombs portion did a good job tying early-Christian artistic motifs to Rome's pagan history, which I found fascinating. Going at night was great too, since there weren't many people at all in either location.

I was very excited to visit the catacombs and despite reading the description, it was not what I expected. There were no bones in the catacombs but there were displays of bones in the museum. Information was interesting but wasn't the tour I expected.

There was a clear lack of communication between Viator and the tour operator. When I arrived and attempted to check in, I was told I was not scheduled for that day and would not be able to join. Despite showing my dated ticket with a barcode in the Viator app, the tour staff were initially dismissive and unhelpful. Only after a tense exchange did they allow us to join, stating they "had extra tickets after all." This was frustrating and unprofessional—why should I have to argue to access a tour I had already paid for?
Additionally, Viator did not indicate any dress code requirements. Yet, I was scolded by the guides for having my shoulders exposed and accused of not reading the instructions. I double-checked—nowhere in the materials was this mentioned.
Lastly, the tone and content of the Catacombs of Priscilla tour were not what I expected. It was led by a nun and focused heavily on religious instruction, with repeated messages about modesty and chastity. I had booked the tour expecting an eerie, historical exploration of catacombs and burial sites. Instead, I was subjected to what felt like a moral lecture.
This experience was not aligned with the description or expectations set by Viator and left me feeling misled and uncomfortable.

As for the content and tone of the Catacombs of Priscilla tour, it’s true this particular experience includes a religious perspective led by a nun, which can differ from more secular or historical tours of the catacombs. If I could give this tour group 0 stars, I would. Or tour never happened. We booked the night tour of the catacombs, were at the meeting spot 30 minutes ahead of time and there was nobody to meet us. 5 minutes after our tour was too begin, we walked over to the catacombs ourselves only to find out they were closing. A very nice manager told us there wasn't even a tour scheduled for the evening and they had done a tour at 3. We should her our booking (5:30-8:30). We tried reaching out to the company and they never got back to us. We then reached out to Viator who said they would reach out to the company for a refund. This ruined our first night in Rome and this was one of the main things we wanted to do. Of course it was too late to book anything else and the rest of our trip is already planned so we can't squeeze this in while we'd are here. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!

The tour guides are amazing. Viator was a big problem. They didn’t provide the meeting address, only one address which was was the ending address. We arrived more than 1/2 hour early. I contacted them right away as we were the only ones there. They didn’t respond until the driver left from the correct meeting place. We ran through Rome to try to meet up with the tour only to miss the first half. Very disappointed in Viator, but I must say, the guide was very good.

It is definitely a worthwhile trip, I personally preferred the catacombs they were authentic and we were fortunate to have a priest show us around making it more powerful and informative as well as passionate and amusing x the crypt for me was not as interesting the bones are laid out in an artistic way but definitely a museum feel as a pose to the dark narrow and eerie catacombs. While I would give this tour a five star review, it was not exactly what we were expecting. Our guide- Monica was wonderful. She kept things moving at a fast pace unlike some other tours that we have had while in Italy. She was super informative and had a nice sense of humor as well. The tour itself starts out with a walk-through with head phones and a pre-recorded conversation between a couple of Friars about the history of Italian Friars that part was not as interesting for us in particular because we thought we were seeing a night tour of bones in catacombs. So while it was somewhat interesting, it just wasn’t what we were looking for in this particular tour. The part with the bones is a walk-through with different crypts in a small church museum type of set up. You then take a bus ride to the catacombs where a nun is the tour guide. She had some interesting information, but there was a lot more religious background that was provided to us than what we expected. overall, we enjoyed the tour, but if what you were looking for is more on the spooky historical side this is not what you’re going to get with this tour. It is more about history of religion, just scheduled later in the day.
