Itinerary
Meet your local guide at the tour office to enter the Vatican Museums. Then, with your skip-the-line ticket, step inside to start your Vatican and Sistine Chapel tour. Follow your guide, listening to tales of saintliness and scandal, and learn about the Vatican’s place as one of the holiest sites in Christendom.
Italian art flourished in the Renaissance and Baroque periods, and the Vatican popes put together one of the world’s largest collections of private art with frescos, paintings, sculptures, and treasure. See the highlights as you walk through galleries such as Raphael’s Rooms, and hear stories behind works such as the 'School of Athens'—a piece that features images of Michelangelo and Raphael himself.
Pass through halls such as the Gallery of the Masks and Gallery of the Maps. Then, make your way into the Sistine Chapel. A sacred spot and the private papal chapel, the Sistine Chapel is also renowned for its Michelangelo frescoes—'The Last Judgement' and 'The Creation of Adam.'
Finish up at St. Peter's Basilica, where you can see more works of art like "Pietà" and rub the toes of St. Peter for good luck.

Leo was an excellent guide! It was very informative. The Guide has a microphone and each participant is provided a device with ab ear piece to better hear the guide.

Tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and humorous. We had a problem with getting our tickets via email but a quick phone call soon solved the problem.
Robert_H, Apr 2026
We had Maria and she was so informative and knowledgeable, it was better than anything we've learned prior and to see the line we avoided with this ticket, well worth ,Thanks
Lynn_M, Apr 2026
The tour was informative, delightful and engaging. Veronica, our guide, was fabulous as a historian, educator and people person. The entire family learned so much! Wish we had more time with her to learn more!
Kerry_C, Apr 2026
It was an amazing tour! It was well worth the price especially because we did not have to wait in long lines! Our tour guide was highly knowledgeable, friendly, and was able to navigate well through the very crowded Vatican Museums!
Jessica_M, Mar 2026
We had a knowledgeable tour-guide and the experience was seemless. We entered quickly and was given ample time throughout the tour to stop and take photos.

If you really want to experience the Vatican museum, the Sistine chapel and St Peter's you have to check this out. "Sir Ian" was extremely knowledgeable with a very dry sense of humor you need to get used to if you've never experienced it before. It's truly a museum with artifacts and initiquities that blew me away once Ian explained it. I didn't give it 5 stars and It had nothing to do with Ian or the tour group. But when you go to the Vatican museum it is very crowded and I had a negative experience with security. They were very rude. I've had two negative experiences with the guards and I understand. They're probably frustrated that there's so many people there but and like I said, the star rating is for the overall experience, not for the tour group. Ian is wonderful. He has the brush up on his jokes a little bit but he is a very knowledgeable guy. Very educational experience. There is a lot of walking and by the time I got to the Sistine chapel I was pretty pooped. But overall, if you want to experience the Vatican and especially the museum and all its Glory you need to go to this. But make sure you have a good pair of walking shoes and if you have your kid or if you have kids with you, make sure you're close to them because you might lose them with all the people going around there or Ian will end up bumping into them. Plus. The museum is spectacular, especially if you love art and history, but the finale in my opinion was going to St. Peter's and Ian does something really special and almost gives you a self-guided tour of the basilica and if you could appreciate the Catholic church, especially St. Peter's basilica the home of the Pope, the epicenter of the Catholic church, you would really appreciate this tour

Great experience, tour guide spoke great English. Very detailed and learnt a lot about Italian, Grecian and Roman History.

Barbara was an excellent guide with extensive knowledge about all things Vatican. Skipping the lines and having a pro to help moves us through the chaos of lots of people in small spaces and lots of turns to navigate was very helpful. For a guy and his wife from Colorado, it was a great tour. Lots of walking - you’ll appreciate a good lunch afterwards
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the Vatican Museums tour with Barbara. Her expertise and guidance make navigating the crowds and the many twists and turns much easier. We’re glad you both had a great experience.

A nice tour! Our second with this company. Each guide is different but still gives wonderful, brief information that is useful for the experience. You get an ear headphone that the guide uses to speak into. I suggest bringing a foam earplug to place in the other ear to block out ambient noise…if that is needed. Remember to tip your tour guide! They do appreciate it!!!
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you for your kind words! We’re delighted you enjoyed your second tour with us. It’s great to hear that each guide made the experience informative and enjoyable. Thank you also for the helpful tip about earplugs and for reminding future travelers to show appreciation to their guides—we really value it!

Quite boring and too much information and talking. Kids were really bored. Went beyond 3 hours and that too we left in the middle.
Monica_N, Nov 2025
A lot of walking! But our guide Palo did a good job of providing rest stops. He was very informative.
Niyoo, Nov 2025
This is the worst tour we had in Rome. Please avoid this company .We booked for two people and we were at the meeting point 30 minutes earlier. No one came to do check in.After that we went to the office and they told us they the leader has left and we cannot join them anymore. They refused to refund us and we had to pay another $300 to book a new tour with different company.

You will go through 3 hours of intense detail of things in which perhaps you have no interest before visiting the Chapel or the Basilica. Almost a soulless experience. It's better to do a self guided tour and move freely to where you want to go. The tour keeps you isolated to the whims of the guide. I am a devout catholic who was greatly disappointed in the experience. Should have done it myself.
Vladimir_A, Nov 2025
The spiral staircase on the picture, we were looking forward to it, we didn’t see nor climb those stairs. We were a little bit disappointed with it.
Anthony_B, Nov 2025
Best way to get in the Sistine Chapel - but you won’t be alone as it is likely to be very very busy!
Brian_S, Nov 2025
Great comprehensive experience which ends with fast access to St Peter’s. That portion of the tour is on your own. Marco was great. Knowledgeable, easy to understand, and funny.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the comprehensive experience and appreciated the fast access to St. Peter’s. It’s fantastic that Marco made the tour so enjoyable with his knowledge, clarity, and sense of humor!
Adam_K, Nov 2025
Going through this tour made the experience better. It lasted multiple hours and our guide was upbeat and providing us facts and details the entire time which is pretty amazing to me. This made the experience better for me because it is so much to see and take in, so it is helpful to have a guide. The highlight was the Sistine Chapel which is smaller than I thought but stunning

Very crowded. Patience required! We only had four people, so it was very personal and easy to ask questions. Our guide kept close track of us. Catherine had lots of fun side stories that made the tour memorable!
Response from Host, Oct 2025
We are glad to hear how much you enjoyed your tour with our guide (Catherine). She is indeed one of our most passionate and knowledgeable guides, and your words perfectly capture the dedication she brings to every tour.
We truly appreciate your trust in us for your visit to Rome, and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again on another tour soon.

Trip was a total disaster. Basilica, St Peter’s square and Sistine Chaple closed due to Royal visit were taken by quide through the museum but not allowed to stop ( what is the point) missed church entrance time So for me should have been offered a full refund

We paid $375 for an English guided tour of the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and St Peter’s Basilica. Our guide was a very pleasant Italian gentleman. Unfortunately he was very soft spoken and had a strong accent. Combined with a poor audio earpiece we heard very little and understood even less. He also left us before entering the Basilica leaving many in the group confused about where to go. We would have been better off with a self guided tour.
Alicia_P, Oct 2025
Great tour. What an amazing experience. Our tour guide was very helpful and very very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend it.
Maggie_C, Oct 2025
It was great until we got to St. Peter’s Bacilla our guide left us and we had to get in by ourselves it was awful waiting in that line we paid to have a English speaking guide and we had none we had to just look not what we paid for
Shelli_V, Oct 2025
The Vatican museum is longggggg. The guide was good but never just stopped talking. You don't have a minute yo just look at things. They move you along like cattle. I regret taking this tour.
Gerald_S, Oct 2025
Communication was less than expected. We were not given an itinerary prior to or during the tour. We. spent 20 minutes in the latter vestibule of the Sistine Chapel, with no guidance. We did not know where to go next. We excited on our own and never saw the inside of the Basilica. The lines outside to get into St. Peter's were extensive and we paid for a part of the tour we never saw. Poorly organized and most disappointing. Find another alternative.
Diane_L, Oct 2025
It was excellent, well organised and our guide Antonio was very good at explaining everything, including the importance of staying together. His description of the interior and Roman history was well researched and he obviously had a lot of experience of working within the busy Vatican environment which enabled us to efficiently view all of the museum, Sistine chapel and Basilica within the time allotted and without feeling overwhelmed by the crowds.
kwdesignresources, Oct 2025
It was very difficult to understand our guide. The headset sound was not clear and his accent made it difficult to understand. I told him and tried to get closer to him to understand but it was difficult. I wish we had just gotten a self guided tour and saved the money.
Alana_s, Oct 2025
The tour guide and process was fine. We spent so much time in the Museum (2.5 hours) that we had little to no time in the Sistine Chapel, then to find out they closed the tunnel to St. Peter’s. As such, our guide ended the tour and said we were on our own for St. Peter’s and that we would have to leave and walk around. The museum section took so long, that we lost opportunities.
the skip the line was the best part of the tour and there are many options with vendors on the street to pay them €50 or so for skip the line access. This tour was very expensive and not worth it.
In the end, we paid more money to get access
Or fast pass to St. Peter’s!
This was a 3 hour tour and most of it was in the museum. I would not recommend.
Our tour guide was good but didn’t read the group, at least 6+ ppl kept walking away to look at other things as was so much talking, and the headsets Horrible! Most of the time, I listened to other guides and took off the headset. Not comfortable at all.
Natalie_A, Sep 2025
The tour guide talked a lot and too fast. Didn’t really understand much of what she was saying. She zoomed through most of the Vatican and was hard to take pictures. Just felt rushed.
