The driver was unprofessional and had poor behavior which made us feel uncomfortable. He arrived 8 minutes past the departure time (at 7:38) when we were asked to meet by 7:10. When they did arrive, he did not tell us his name nor did he make a gesture to open the van door (at all throughout the trip). While they did stop at the designated places, many of them were rushed or just quickly zoomed past (to look at out of tinted windows). The driver became noticeably annoyed if anyone asked a question and just continued to talk over us. At one point, he answered a phone call (in front of us) yelling at someone about needing gas money. At the end, he made it clear that he wanted tips and even said, "oh good- it ends in zero" when someone gave him a tip. His behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable in our opinion. We were the only ones on the tour which was nice. The tour guide had lots of great information, however we were in a small old van with the tour guide another person and a dog. They did not introduce themselves and the ride felt somewhat uncomfortable

Cut short of expectations

Paul_A, Mar 2026
Washington after dark is beautiful. Our tour, however, did not meet expectations. Our tour leader frequently talked over questions, gave bare-bones descriptions of buildings and presidents who authorized their construction without adding warmth or little known stories. And the 3 hour tour was over in two hours. Beautiful city but not all it could have been.

Night tour on 11-14-26 from near Union Station

Kenton_T, Jan 2026
Seeing the monuments at night is very cool but our guide/driver was not good. First they were late. He misspoke repeatedly as he described things. He wouldn’t finish some of what he started to say and he ignored our questions. No guide came with us at the stops. Our three hour tour was done in less than two hours and then he dropped us off at a different location than pickup even though I clearly told him that I didn’t want that. He looked exhausted and I think he just wanted to get things over and go home.

DC at night is beautifully lit up

The driver was very informative we enjoyed the trip save the hassle of the traffic and plan a trip the van was comfortable

Iyonna_F, Aug 2025
The driver was funny, personable, and knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to fast run a tour of some of DCs major attractions.

Great experience for my grand daughter

Roberta_K, Jul 2025
The tour was okay, covered a lot. The driver was difficult to hear at several points, although he gave great presentation. He tried to leave early from the stops, almost leaving people behind.

My group was very unsatisfied

Sulema_D, Jul 2025
Driver was not informative, so maybe another driver would be better, my group was very unhappy with your.

Don't use

Bobby_H, Jul 2025
We had tickets for this tour. Upon arrival and waited for driver. This was like 12 person van. They were overbooked. Vivator said we hire 3rd party contractors for their tours. We were led to believe this tour would be on open air type tour. I spoke with the owner of contractor service. Im supposed To be receiving full refund.

Pick a different guide

Ryan_K, Jun 2025
I’ve done similar tours before, with different companies. This was the worst. We drove by a lot of the sites but rarely got off. When people asked about monuments such as the Vietnam Wall, they were told it was too far away and they should see it on their own. A lot of “we all know that…” statements were made rather than explaining the history.

Fantastic experience

Holzworth_D, Jun 2025
Was able to view all of the major landmarks and given ample time to get off the tour bus and go up close and take pictures, explore, or whatever. Friendly guide, who was entirely focused on the tourists experience.

Dissatisfied

Beata_P, Jun 2025
Beautiful city. The tour itself was a nightmare. Not a bus but a van came 30 min late. Limited visibility. Driver was knowledgeable to the extent but very rude. He got really political and pushed his agenda on tourists. Things got nasty when he realized we do not share the same views. He was talking to me and my friend via microphone so everyone in that van could hear it. Extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. By the second stop we felt so uncomfortable that we got out and never came back to finish this tour that we paid for. The role of this man should be to guide us through the city and be neutral when it comes to political parties he stands behind, and not to get others uncomfortable by making inappropriate political comments to put us down. That’s not the service we paid a lot of money for. Very disappointing and saddening.

Beautiful Nighttime Experience in D.C.

Robin_C, Apr 2025
The meeting spot was easy to find, but confirmed with the concierge. My cousin and I had a VIP tour for the nighttime tour. Jeffrey was very friendly and we enjoyed to get out for some of the monuments with longer time to enjoy the monuments up close with the illuminating lights!!! It was a nice break not walking throughout the entire city, but seeing the important buildings. The weekend after Easter seemed to be less crowded. I can always trust Viator to come through with planned and last minute bookings.

Tour guide should keep...

Roman_P, Apr 2025
Tour guide should keep his political views to himself. In addition, when a tour has a lot of content presented from within a vehicle, the driver should be aware that just because he can see something through the windshield doesn’t mean the passengers see the same from the back of the bus. I’ll leave it at that.

Could have been better

Susan_H, Mar 2025
Windows and seats were not clean. Driver was not attentive and some of the facts he stated were not accurate. Sights were nice and the other participants were nice!

Bobby was great!

Linda_A, Jan 2025
Bobby was a great guide. He was very knowledgeable and shared lots of information. He also told many dad jokes along the way to keep the tour fun. Bobby was so kind and dropped us off at our hotel, which we were going to drive by on the way to the meeting location. He saved us walking 1 mile after a long day of walking and exploring.

Great experience

James_O, Nov 2024
Jeffery was very knowledgeable about anything Washington. But most of the statutes are not lite up. Some we missed intirely. But the ones illuminated are just great!!! It was also great that we were the only ones on this tour that night. All in all worth the money. You will get many great photo opts .

BEWARE - They cancelled last minute & ruined our trip, unreal.

AJ_G, Nov 2024
They cancelled last minute & ruined our trip, beware! I had high hopes to see the sights at Night, on a tight schedule.

DC Night Tour w/ Bobby!

Kimbely_H, Nov 2024
Having a very knowledgeable tour guide! Visiting the different monuments/memorials/ learning about different buildings and having them explained in details was everything! Every stop was amazing!!

Amazing trip

Sabrina_I, Nov 2024
Roberto is a profesional person, he show you and explains very well about the history of USA and all the monuments

Too dark to see much

CINDY_S, Oct 2024
The monuments that had lights were good to see. Our driver pointed out statues but we could not see them….

Average tour. Not too good

zila_P, Oct 2024
Tour was ok. Driver was ok. Tour bus pickup ran late. No communication from tour operators before tour. Bus was hot. Nit alot of fresh air. No charging options. Bad communication from tour operator . Tried to message when bus was late with zero response. Not highly recommended

I was expecting the...

Elizabeth_L, Aug 2024
I was expecting the electric cars but I called and scheduled my tour which the company set me up with whoever was available. And also the tour guide mentioned his political views the entire tour which I didn’t care to hear.

Regrettable

Rachael_E, Jul 2024
Rude , condescending , ac did not work and people were sweating and complaining , your guide with poor listening and communication skills.

Stunning Views Ruined by Tacky Tour Guide

Meisha_L, Jul 2024
The chance to witness the monuments and museums illuminated at night was truly breathtaking. However, joy of the experience was marred by the tour guide's constant crude, prejudiced, and sexist remarks.

The driver was...

kelly_d, Jun 2024
The driver was knowledgeable and entertaining. The time they allowed for the stops was enough to enjoy and get photos.

To get the photos, you had to suffer thru the shtick

mary_c, Jun 2024
The driver was rude both to the passengers of the vehicle as well as other drivers. There was a lot of honking, he went through multiple stop signs, he screamed at other drivers, even rolled down his window and screamed at other drivers. Oddly, he also rolled down his window and called out to other drivers who seemed to be his friends-- he did this quite often. He made disparaging comments about Michelle Obama needing 3 hours to put on her makeup, and called a police officer "sweetie." In short, he was unpleasant.

Laughs and cracks

Barbara_R, Jun 2024
Our tour guide knew a lot of the history…but could’ve kept his political views to himself…as well as his jokes. Some were somewhat inappropriate. Plus he was slightly incapacitated & did not open the van door at every destination/stop. He made us do it. Now that’s service! Not!! Said he was close to retirement & had a bum leg. He needs Jesus.

You won’t regret it!

Krystle_B, May 2024
The guide was wonderful and informative. The site as were beautiful. It rained, but didn’t put a damper on the trip. Clearly you can see I was able to take amazing pictures of the sites. My only suggestion would be to carry a squeegee to clear off the windows after the rain stopped. It made the drive by photos a little hard to take. But still a great tour!

Great Tour

Magdalena_S, May 2024
Bobby was a great guide! He was funny and informative. As a solo traveler, I appreciated being able to go on this tour by myself.
