Our group spent the day with Jinny P. who was the perfect guide for this tour. Her knowledge of Chinatown’s history, art, and culture paired with the delicious array of dishes we sampled made for a perfect day in San Francisco. We live in the East Bay and have been to Chinatown a few times before but now see it with new appreciation. Jinny even suggested additional activities we could do after our tour concluded and followed up with a text with a reading list since many of us were interested in learning more about Chinatown’s past and it’s relevance to California’s history. Being immersed in the bustling Chinatown scene almost felt like we had taken a trip without ever leaving home.

Jinny was an amazing tour guide and was a wealth of knowledge and recommendations for the area. You can tell she has built a positive relationship with the local vendors visited by the tour. The food we tasted at each location was some of the best we have had, and it was a perfect balance of eating and strolling through Chinatown.

This food tour is well worth the money and exercise! If you’re lucky enough to get Spud, you’ve hit a gold mine. He was super informative, friendly, funny and was very considerate of my fiancé’s food allergy. I would highly recommend for tourists and locals. This food tour was definitely one of our trips best highlights. Don’t forget to eat the onion buns while they’re fresh and hot and the spicy noods are a spicy food persons dream. BOOK SPUD NOW!

We enjoyed walking around town and learning the history of the city and neighborhood in general. The guide was knowledgeable and personable. The first stop was a lot of heavy food, which made it difficult to eat more, later. This tour includes a LOT OF FOOD, which is great, but also difficult to enjoy when you are full. Bring a takeaway container and a backpack, I'd suggest. The noodle stop was our favorite, the bowl of Ramen was excellent. The stop at the restaurant for pork was very long and drawn out. We all felt like we lost steam at that point and made the rest of the tour feel sluggish. We enjoyed the fortune cookie stop, but were tired and totally full by the dessert stop for custard pies, which were huge. My kids, aged 10 & 13 enjoyed the information and felt that they had an authentic experience and even referenced some of the information later on. Although they had done food tours in other cities, they felt that this was slow.

This tour was amazing! I took my wife on the tour for a birthday surprise and we both loved it. We've lived in the Bay Area for a year but never visited Chinatown, so it was a great way to explore it and have some delicious food.
Casey is an amazing tour guide! He's a walking encyclopedia and was able to provide answers to any question we had about Chinese food, the history of Chinatown, the architecture, recommendations for food or sightseeing, and the history of San Francisco in general.

All the places we visited, the food was delicious, serving size perfect, and variety of food was good. Scott took us to some really good places and on the way shared good stories and lots of interesting history. Our group was small - 7ppl - which made it easy to walk around & to hear Scott's stories. I highly recommend this tour and with Scott - you really see a lot of China town and ALL of the food was delicious!!!

Not as described- no bottled water or entrance into temple. Water was provided at two stops. Guide left group at some stops to check on the next place supposedly so there was a lot of down time. Food was mediocre.

Thank you for your feedback. We take all our customer's feedback to heart and make tweaks to our food tours when necessary.
We provide ample water at the food stops on our Chinatown tour. The Temples haven't allowed the public inside since the pandemic. We will be sure to remove the wording on any paperwork that says we go inside temples.
Almost all of the reviews about our Chinatown food tour are 5 stars and our guests rave about the Chinese food on our tour. We're surprised to read your experience was so different from our other guests. Thanks again for your candid comments.
