The tour people never showed up for an 11 o’clock tour. We checked with Viator. They told us we were actually signed up for the 12 o’clock tour. We waited until 12:15. No one showed up.

As this was a very last minute booking, we were unfortunately unable to accommodate this booking, and Viator promptly processed your refund.
Our San Francisco Chinatown & North Beach Food Tour is often enjoyed by guests for its combination of local flavors, neighborhood history, and visits to some of the most loved spots in these iconic areas, so we understand this was disappointing.

What a SPECTACULAR Experience. Our Guide, DARA, was amazing. She is a local San Francisco girl & was a wealth of knowledge. It’s a small group tour so our family of 5 got a private tour. We started at the Cable Car Museum & she explained the history & engineering of the street cars. Then we walked to China Town & had the yummiest yogurt drinks, dim sum & musubi. Our next stop was a bakery for Pineapple buns, which are like sweet rolls. Then we walked over to North Beach (Little Italy) & had the most authentic & freshest focaccia pizza & ended at a bakery run by an Italian family for Gelato. Dara was absolutely amazing.. 10 stars & 10 thumbs up!!! She is a wealth of knowledge & so personable & friendly. Even our teenage daughter loved the tour! There is a lot of walking so wear comfy sneakers & travel light… purses & backpacks get really heavy after you have been walking a while. There is a lot to eat & drink so come hungry!
We would highly recommend this tour & only because Dara is such an incredible guide! Don’t think about it.. book now !!

Mark was our guide. If one could "create" a perfect guide for this San Francisco walking food/history tour you could not get anyone better than Mark! Loved that he was a 3rd generation San Francisc-an and his F&B background was perfection. Both my friend and I have been on many walking food tours both in the US and abroad. If there was one area of improvement it would be having more sit-down food tastings. It was challenging avoiding the busy Saturday sidewalk traffic while eating a large (albeit) delicious piece of pizza standing on the curb. Both of my secret Food Tours in France included a sit-down at the end with all the delicious treasures we gathered from the food stops along the way with a glass of wine. That was a lovely way to wrap up the tour!

Woke up to a notification in the middle of the night that the tour had been canceled. A few hours before the tour, after I had already scheduled an alternate experience, I was contacted telling me the tour was back on. Had to jump through multiple hoops to get a refund.

Occasionally, last-minute changes in staffing or logistics can trigger some cancellations, and when things get resolved quickly, we offer to reinstate the tour. It doesn’t happen often, but we know it can be confusing when it does.
Still, we’re glad your refund was processed in full, and we truly hope this won’t be your lasting impression of us. Zachary was EXCELLENT! He had historical facts to share and fed us the best Chinatown and North Beach had to offer! They aren’t kidding arrive hungry!! He was courteous, fun , respectful to the shop owners and well prepared! I would highly recommend Zachary and this tour !!

This was a fantastic tour with five stops that was perfectly paced..we started with lots of fun facts about the city with a hot or cold drink, then moved on to appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Chinatown and the Italian District are huge compared to other cities, so take this tour to get right to the best spots and learn the lingo straight from a local. Dara was knowledgeable and brought our small group together like family..thumbs up D!

We had a great time on our food tour with Jamie. He is very knowledgeable having grown up in the area but also had experience from living in Asia that made our Chinatown experience unique as well. We happened to be there during the lunar new year parade and Chinatown was especially busy —but he still managed to give us VIP treatment, hitting all of the main attractions as well as behind the scenes spots and unique finds. We also had great pizza in north end and learned a lot about the history of that area, as well as cable cars, jazz, the Godfather… all in all a really good tour.

Tour was ok, disappointed that tour was booked on a Monday when the cable car museum is closed (cable car museum is the start point of the tour), would be nice if this was mentioned when booking the tour
maybe because it was just the two of us with the tour guide, we were expecting more energy/vibe and we are use to more sightseeing during this type of tours
Food was tasty, gelato and fortune cookie company were the most memorable moments
Would be nice to had walked to see the dragon gate in Chinatown as part of the tour
