What are people saying about Skagway

Excellent tour!
This bus trip was unbelievable. We saw wildlife like goats and bears and the bus driver was fantastic. Gave us time to get off many different sites to take pictures. The welcome to Alaska sign was cool. The Yukon territory sign. It was just fantastic.

Way better than the train!
We loved this small bus ride through Skagway and up into the Yukon! We had taken the train through that area on our last visit to Skagway and were looking for a different kind of experience this time. We LOVED the bus so much more than the train! The tour guide was great and we appreciated that we were able to get out and take pictures at quite a few scenic locations. We enjoyed the suspension bridge as well. Overall this was an enjoyable and very scenic excursion! Highly recommended!

You have to spend a little bit more time than you would expect in the bus. That being said, Mariah was filled with extensive facts and information about everything you see in the bus along the way. At no time did you ever feel like you just needed to get out of the bus. It's one of the most beautiful drives you could imagine. There was plenty of time to stop for photo ops along the way, at the dog camp, and at the suspension bridge as well as a lake. There was an enjoyable cafe at the suspension bridge, as well as a gift shop. Mariah knew everyone at every stop personally and they were very happy to work with her and take care of her tour members.

A jet boat ride through Alaska’s nature
This experience stood out amongst many in Alaska. It was not only a lot of fun, but our tour guide/captain was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate and funny. Coming from Australia, we saw wildlife we have never seen before and felt a climate so utterly different from our own.
We actually did this experience in 2023 and I cannot believe we didn’t review this sooner. We still talk about it to this day. So if that doesn’t convince you, I don’t know what would.

Don't Miss This Experience!
This experience was my husband's and my favorite part of our trip to Alaska. The first part of the trip was on a bus, and the guide gave us information on the area and the things we passed as we drove. Once we got to the base camp area, we got on a Unimog, which was a big truck with giant tires. The rest of the ride to the dog sleds was rough, and a little scary if you were sitting on the edge, but it was fun, and the scenery was beautiful. If you like riding ATVs, it's a similar experience. When we got to the top, the dogs were already hooked up to the carts and ready to go. We got on the carts and the dogs took off, and we couldn't believe how fast they were. It was so much fun racing through the forest, and the forest itself just looks so unreal and magical. After we were done with our ride, we got to meet and pet the sled dogs, then we got back on the Unimog and rode down to a beautiful overlook where we took pictures. After looking around there for a few minutes, we finished our ride back to the base camp. At the base camp we met some retired sled dogs and learned more about the dogs and the Iditarod, which is the race the dogs are training for. Next we met the older puppies at the camp, then we got to hold the youngest puppies. After we were done we had a few minutes to look around the store and the coffee shop, then we got back on the bus and rode back to town. During the ride back, the driver gave us more information about the area and we tried to spot wildlife.
I can't recommend this experience enough!

Absolutely Unforgettable Experience - a must do!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This sled dog excursion was honestly one of the best experiences of my life!
The scenery alone is worth the trip, but what made it unforgettable was our guide, Noah. He had the whole group laughing the entire time with his sharp sense of humor, and at the same time, he really knew how to keep everyone’s attention and make the experience feel personal.
Meeting the dogs was incredible, and the way Noah explained everything made it even more special. You could tell he genuinely cared about the dogs and about making sure we all had a great time.
If you’re stopping in Skagway on a cruise, I can’t recommend this excursion enough. It was fun, beautiful, and something I’ll never forget🤩

Nice outdoor activity combination
The first half of the 2 Mile hike is arduous but can be done with a decent level of fitness. Dom., our guide was very knowledgeable and courteous. We learned about many different varieties of mushrooms, berries and other plant life in the rainforest. The raft float back to the starting point was fun and we saw eagles and other wildlife.

Relaxing & Scenic!!
We had a great, relaxing journey!!
This was the last stop of 3 ports in our cruise and it was a perfect, scenic, relaxing excursion after we’d been pretty busy the other days. They are extremely easy to locate right outside the princess cruise and our tour guide, Conner, was amazing!! Very knowledgable about the location, Alaska, etc

Great tour
We had a great time. We were the first group there (yea!) so no one there yet, but because of they the dogs were EXCITED. My 8 yo, who is used to large dogs, was completely engulfed by nipping, jumping dogs. I literally had to pull dogs off. He thought it was funny, but know that pups will be pups and it could be overwhelming for you get kids not used to dogs.

Skip the train and book this instead!
When booking the trip I really wanted to do the White Pass Train, but looking back on all the pictures I got during this excursion I am happy we didn’t. This tour drives you up the highway all the way to the Yukon and makes so many stops at the most picturesque locations while giving you the history of the area. The pictures we got are so BEAUTIFUL like postcard worthy. The BBQ food at the Yukon was delicious! Highly recommend getting the ice cream blueberry cheesecake in the small Yukon town (the waffle cones are handmade).

We were a big group with lots of kids (age range 1-16) and everyone agreed the waterfall tour was the best excursion! Luke was responsive and helpful when we encountered delays and helped us navigate to the boat slip quickly. The boat was comfortable and allowed for us to be inside or outside as we desired. We really appreciated how dedicated the crew was to making the experience relaxing and enjoyable for everyone. And the smoked salmon was delicious. We highly recommend the waterfall tour (and supporting local)!

This was a really great experience at the Yukon suspension bridge itself. We enjoyed the scenery. The facility was very clean and very nicely put together. But I would say that the best part about this trip was our driver/host, Pat Kennedy. He was very knowledgeable and stopped and took pictures of the guest with different local attractions/areas.
