Dogs and views

Gretchen_A, Sep 2025
I love dogs and I loved hearing the trainers speak about how they work with the sled dogs. The trip up the mountain was beautiful and I think better than the train bc our guide stopped and let us take pictures. The only think I would say that wasn’t “awesome” was the lunch,..not great, but I wasn’t mad about it

Robin_L, Sep 2025
We should have been told beforehand that the dogs would not be running that day. Not happy that I paid for an excursion we did not get.

Dog Sled Disappointment

Beverley_O, Aug 2025
Disappointing, dog sledding was not at all realistic…used a motorized vehicle, dogs were not huskies but were very friendly. Could not interact with puppies. Was part of our lunch stop, so was a very limited time…it was raining and that didn’t help…very muddy and messy. The rest of the tour was fine!

Bus tour great but lunch and dog mushing were poor.

Annette_S, Aug 2025
The lunch stop was VERY RUSHED for those of us who were doing dog mushing. Our lunch including the slaw was kept in a warm oven. No iced tea left and asked but tank was never refilled so drank water. Dogs were housed on concrete slabs and all of them were wet and muddy along with trail they mushed on. Puppies two or three were in enclosed separately fenced off from anything but viewing...no contact. You could pet the musher dogs if you were good with walking thru mud to reach them and okay with wet muddy hand after touching. Didn't get to see the museum of taxidermy or gift shop as I would have had to forfit lunch.

Too hot a bus, but cute puppies.

tachiyamad, Aug 2024
The lunch and being with the puppies was definitely a plus. But the ride was too long and the driver didn’t know how to turn off the heater which made the ride very uncomfortable.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this Tour Operator!!

Raj_G, Aug 2024
Horrible customer service and follow up- Rude agents and poor communication. There are lots of other operators with similar itineraries. Please don't make the same mistake we did.

Response from Host, Aug 2024

We are sorry your experience was not satisfactory. However, we spoke with you on the phone a week before your tour and then multiple times the day of your tour. We gave you instructions and tried our best to connect with you. You did not follow our instructions and because of that the tour left late and everyone who did follow instructions were forced to depart for the tour late.

Great day

LAUREN_M, Aug 2024
Tour guide was wonderful! Lunch was great. My friends went on the train ride and were jealous of our adventure when they heard about all of the stops we made.

Response from Host, Sep 2024

Thank you so much for giving us 5 stars. You made our day!

Beautiful sights and puppy love.

Megan_C, Aug 2024
Our driver, Chad, was so awesome. They picked us up right outside the terminal and we drove up into Canada to see and play with some real life sled dogs. He was a plethora of information and stopped at all the beautiful sights to let us out to take pictures and just marvel at the wonders of the scenery. We drank water from a glacier waterfall, saw Emerald Lake, stopped at the Welcome to Alaska Sign and the Yukon sign among others. The Sled Dog stop was about an hour (too short for everyone, but who doesn't want to spend all day playing with sweet puppies, right). We got to be "pulled" on a jeep by actual sled dogs who compete in different races, play with their puppies, and have a quick and delicious lunch before heading back. 10 out of 10 stars!

Need to update the address on your website that the company has changed names and moved. Great tour; Chad is an entertaining guide.

Bad experience

Rajvinder_P, Aug 2024
We left our passports thinking we won’t need them but once we got to the meeting pls e/ office of excitation company, the guy was so short tempered and even used cuss words when I got upset about having missed super expensive activity. We got put on another one which was fair.

Better than the train.

Gauthamur, Jul 2024
Rebecca was an amazing tour guide. Smooth driving, funny stories, and stopped for all the best sites! Amazing and highly recommend.

A scenic drive, a good guide, and puppies!

Miranda_M, Jul 2024
My 15-year-old daughter and I took the tour from Skagway. We walked from the port to the little village of Skagway, which is charming and seemed like a scene from a movie. Rebekah was our coach driver for the 90 minute ride and she was very entertaining in her stories about the gold rush and the scenery. We learned a lot! We then went to see Sled dogs. We got to cuddle the puppies and ride behind a sled. They also served a barbecue lunch. I recommend the tour!

Fun Musher camp

Gail_C, Jul 2024
The puppies were the favorite but the ride was fun too and the food delicious. We didn’t have time to go into the little museum. I would have liked to do that.

Amazing views

Julie_K, Jun 2024
Beautiful views! The pictures and sights were incredible! We loved being able to see so many things and it was nice to be driven around. Pick up was super easy at the dock and being dropped off in town. Our driver was not great, but it was still worth the experience for the amazing views. The stop for lunch and dogs are great. My son loved the dog sled ride.

Would go again!

Nicholas_M, Jun 2024
Kenton was a great guide. Funny, got us amazing pictures, and knowledgeable. The drive was beautiful the stops were perfect. The staff at the sledding were very nice and informative.

Great scenery, not enough

Casey_C, Jun 2024
It was a gorgeous bus ride! The guide did a great job stopping and allowing us to get photos. He had a lot of information about the area. Please know- if you sign up to do the “mushing”- you will be rushed at the activities. We barely had time to eat lunch. We did not get to see the museums or the gift shop. We had very little time to enjoy the destination. Also- did not get to hold puppies. Just look and sometimes pet them.

Meeting the dogs and ...

Amy_M, May 2024
Meeting the dogs and the sledding. The staff were so nice and answered questions. The tour was amazing. Only bad thing was , we didn't have enough time at the dog sledding camp.

Great visit

Margaret_K, Sep 2023
The BBQ was ok, but not the reason for the visit. The dogsled experience was short but thrilling. The dogs were in training and there was no snow on the ground since we visited in September, but so much fun! I could have stayed there for hours petting and playing with the very friendly team.

Carrie_D, Sep 2023
Noah was very informative. Beautiful scenery. Loved the dog sled...would have liked it to be a little longer ride

Witnessing how excited...

Debbie_S, Sep 2023
Witnessing how excited the dogs were to pull the “sled “ was very gratifying. My group really wasn’t sure what we would see when we planned this excursion. The ride behind that dog team was a great experience, and our driver was extremely knowledgeable about each dog in the team. Afterwards, in the petting zoo, the puppies were very playful with my grandson. We were slightly disappointed however, that we couldn’t adopt the last puppy available, and take him with us to the cruise ship!

Amazing and so many cute dogs !

Jacqueline_L, Sep 2023
This tour was amazing, Eric our tour guide was knowledgeable and showed us cool sites on the way to the dog sled experience. It is their training camp, and it was very interesting to learn how they train and to take a ride with the dogs . Puppies where available for adoption and I wish I could of brought one home !

A must do tour!!

Reggie_D, Aug 2023
The guide, dogs, scenery, and overall experience exceeded our expectations. This is a must do tour!!

Beautiful but Main Event Underwhelming

Michael_G, Aug 2023
It’s a 5-hour tour consisting of 1.5 hours each way and 2 hours there. The scenery is amazing on the trip and we had a fantastic tour guide! The dog portion, however, is a tourist trap/ripoff. The whole event consists of piling 10 tourists into and open motorized (!) Jeep-like car and having strapped dogs run in front of it. I understand why they do it and it would be incredibly taxing for the dogs to pull people all day, but don’t advertise as such. You do get a tasty lunch and play with puppies!

Good value for the price

Kitty_B, Jul 2023
The weather was beautiful and let us take so many fabulous pictures! Our guide kept us going with his lively commentary over this 6.5 hour excursion. I only gave this a 3 because the sled dog “ride” was actually in a motorized buggy. That being said, the ride would likely be the highlight if this tour was taken in the wintertime. On the flip side, the weather would be terrible in the winter, so you can’t have everything. Also, we were supposed to be able to hold the puppies, but that didn’t happen either. Oh well. This price was at least $100 less than what the cruise line wanted to charge for a similar tour, and the cruise line tour didn’t offer a “ride.”

Easy to find. Excellent...

shannan_r, Jul 2023
Easy to find. Excellent tour guide/driver (Kenton) with great information. Enough time at stops to see and take pictures.

Response from Host, Jul 2023

We are glad you enjoyed your tour with Kenton!

Not worth the $$$

clmeteer, Jun 2023
This excursion should be reworded. It’s 4 hrs of driving and looking at lakes and waterfalls with the best part being the shortest and not allowing for enough time, the Dog Sledding.

Must do!

Janice_N, Jun 2023
Definitely a must do! We were ages 5-70 and all had a great time. Noah was our guide and he was extremely knowledgeable. The final destination was incredible with petting zoo and puppies plus experience of dog mushing. We got back to our ship with plenty of time.

Well worth it!

Jeremy_P, Jun 2023
Wonderful experience! Our driver Eric was so funny and informative. We got to stop and lots of different places to see and take pictures. Lunch was good and the dog sledding was so much fun

Missed out on a dog sled because the ticket details document did not specify we needed our passports!

Agnes_M, May 2023
Missed our dog sleg. The ticket details did not mention we needed our passports. I only read the ticket details, NOT the ticket itself. I suggest Viator write down ALL the information on the ticket itself on the ticket details document. Viator would not refund me even if I missed out on my bucket list of riding a dog sled :(

Response from Host, May 2023

We are sorry you missed your tour! The passport information is on the instructions Viator provides you when you book the tour. We cannot take anyone across the border without passports or any other proper documentation.

Such a great excursion!...

Karen_S, Sep 2022
Such a great excursion! We loved seeing the dogs up close (especially the ten day old puppies) and enjoyed learning about the sport of mushing!
