Had an excellent tour Skagway Tours & our guide Pam. She was friendly & knowledgeable about the history of the port/town. We also managed to squeeze in loads of spots to stop off & take pictures-including waterfalls, the scenic view over Skagway & the Yukon/Alaska signs. The suspension bridge was a great, we were fortunate enough to have excellent weather. The musher puppies were a lovely experience.

Very informative and our tour guide Pam was excellent and had so much information. So many great views.

Underwhelming

KCaleon, Sep 2026
It was underwhelming and not as expected. You show up to pet some cute puppies, that’s it. We got to the musher camp, entered the yard and met a few puppies that were running around a muddy gated area. There was no guided talk or organized itinerary, you show up, pet some dogs for 30 minutes and that’s it. It cost 25¢ for a tiny treat. The workers seemed irritated and almost annoyed to be answering questions.

Really great deal! Choose PAM! She is the Best!

Pam is THE BEST guide that you can imagine! She is a good driver, patient and experienced, she really loves Alaska and is an amazing story teller. Our family enjoyed every moment! Thank you so much!

Fun in Skagway!

KellyMarie_J, Sep 2026
This was a wonderful tour and our guide was amazing. He explained the differences in the areas we were in. - for example we went through rainforest, then tundra, then a third area that I can’t remember. We stopped for plenty of photo ops. The scenery was picturesque and his sense of humor was refreshing and made the trip enjoyable! The puppies were so adorable! I would definitely recommend this excursion.

Summit, Bridge and Puppies oh my!

A lot of fun and definitely worth doing but some notes on the puppy part

Pamela_B, Aug 2026
Our guide Pam was amazing! She was super knowledgeable, friendly and very funny! Really one of the best guides we've had. The stops along the way were beautiful and she made sure that anyone who wanted a photo in front of any welcome sign got one. And the suspension bridge was really a highlight. Definitely a great stop with the views and the walk across the bridge. The small let down on the excursion was the interaction with the sled dog puppies. We had a fairly large sized group with plenty of families with children. When we arrived the area with the puppies was already pretty crowded with other people so once we joined that herd getting any time with any puppy was challenging. And let me tell you, if you think you are going to be successful getting to hold a puppy over a parent who wants to shove one in their kids lap to take a photo shoot, you will not. We managed to wrangle a puppy for a few moments but the competition for them was way to much. The puppies were also very over whelmed with some of them hiding under a ramp or running into their dog houses and who could blame them. The facility should have made sure that the people to puppy ratio made sense before allowing another group in. Pam did make sure that we had at least held one puppy. Just go into this part of the excursion with managed expectations that your time with a puppy might be limited and hard to come by due to the number of people you are traveling with as well as aggressive parents who don't share and the number of people already there. That said, this excursion is definitely worth it!

We had a great experience on this trip! Mariah was our trip guide and was very knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. We saw some incredible sights, including beautiful lakes and rivers that were at the summits of mountains. The puppies at the mushers camp were adorable and playful. We played with a variety of ages and had a wonderful time.

Easily the best tour of our entire Alaska trip

Cristian_H, Aug 2026
Easily the best tour of our entire Alaska trip. And it had everything to do with our tour guide, Pam. I brought my sons to Alaska to snow them one of my favorite places. Having such a knowledgeable and charismatic guide made this the best day of our adventure. She should teach a course on how to run an A+ tour. Thanks Pam and thanks Skagway Tours!!

Awesome trip in Skagway and great way to see BC & Yukon. Pam our tour guide made it super fun. The views at each stop are worth the trip.

Lots of Time Riding a Bus

Andrea_F, Jul 2026
Here are my main thoughts: 1) Lots of time riding a bus - You spend 1.5 hours before getting off the bus for the first stop. This was not posted or said anywhere. My kids, myself, and the rest of the bus were frustrated. Overall you spend 4 hours riding on the bus. This was not mentioned anywhere. Multiple people fell asleep along the way. 2) Dog Sled Tour - There was no tour. They let you in a muddy open area with a few dogs. When we went it was pouring down rain and the puppies were underneath a shed and would not get out. No workers tried to help. I convinced a pup to come out and it began to whine so I had to let it go and was then covered in mud. The bathrooms were disgusting and men were going in bushes next to it. Viator says husky puppies, but it was another breed of sled dogs. Viator says 45 min for the stop but bus driver gave us 30 minutes. It maybe would have been better if it wasn’t raining. 3) Suspension Bridge - Viator says 1 hour but bus driver gave us 45 min. This was the highlight of our tour. Views and history were great. It was lunch time when we got there but there is a limited amount of food (understandable). Chili and meat/cheese box were phenomenal. It definitely was not enough time for us to see everything and would have enjoyed longer. 4) Stops - We stopped at the Yukon sign, Alaska sign, pretty overlook, and view of Skagway. This was a welcome reprieve from the bus but some chose to stay on it as they just wanted to get back. 5) Tour Guide - Phenomenal. They were amazing and told great stories (but occasionally hard to hear over the bus engine). However one tour guide at the puppy stop said he stopped talking since no one was laughing at his jokes and played music. Overall, I would not recommend with my situation with younger kids. If you enjoy looking out windows for a long time and hearing stories, then this is for you. I personally would not do again.

We had a group of 10 ranging in age from 11 to 70. This excursion was good for all. Our guide/ driver, Trey, was awesome. He was full of interesting information. The visuals are spectacular along the way and we loved the bridge and the puppies!

Worth it!

Jennifer_B, Jul 2026
Great tour- Conner was our guide and he was fun and informative but not boring! Took us to great scenic views and utilized our time well.

Amazing Views

Jennifer_A, Jul 2026
The views were amazing. I changed my wallpaper on my phone probably three times because every stop was better than the previous one, it seemed. The puppies were underwhelming; several dogs in an area that weren’t very interested in playing or coming out of the shade. But there were a few little puppies in their own area and if you worked, you probably could get some cuddles or pictures. I will advise that there was no bathroom stop for the first 90 minutes and very limited opportunity for snacks and food. Bring snacks. Overall, I would recommend. The views were amazing. Engaging tour guide.

Fun Time
