We had a beautiful day in Skagway with a great guide, Michael. I’m so glad we did this instead of the train! We were able to stop and get off the van to take pics. The suspension bridge was absolutely gorgeous! Highly recommend!!

Explore the wild beauty of Canada’s Yukon Territory on a scenic half-day minibus shore excursion from Skagway port, which saves you the stress of driving along unfamiliar roads yourself. Travel the historic Klondike Highway, admiring rugged mountains, cascading waterfalls, as someone else focuses on the road, and snap photos of the dramatic Tormented Valley. Ascend to the White Pass summit and watch for wildlife. Don’t forget to bring a valid passport for this cross-border adventure.
  • Travel the scenic Klondike Highway from Skagway into British Columbia
  • Snap photos at the Yukon border sign and the White Pass Summit
  • Visit off-the-beaten-path places that most travelers miss

Pickup details

We meet you at YOUR cruise ship pier tour meeting area. DO NOT GO TO A DIFFERENT SHIP PIER THAN YOUR OWN. DO NOT FOLLOW ANY MAP LINKS. Look for representative with FRONTIER EXCURSIONS sign. Be at least 15 minutes early. We pickup at all ship piers and will find you at your specific ship pier. PLEASE BRING YOUR PASSPORTS. Bring all documents needed for border crossing-Passports (and USA and/or Canada Visas if required for your citizenship). No copies of documents accepted. Itinerary

After pickup from Skagway port, board your mini-bus and drive along the Klondike Highway in British Columbia. Amid stunning mountain scenery, pass landmarks including Brackett Wagon Road, WP&YR railroad, Moore Creek Bridge and Pitchfork Falls. During the day, keep watch for moose, bears, birds, sheep, and goats.

Ascend 3,292 feet (1003 meters) to White Pass summit, a route that thousands of stampeders journeyed in 1898 during the Gold Rush in search of fortune. Enter Tormented Valley, a subarctic alpine tundra with a beautiful lake.

Travel into northern Boreal forests and stop at Tutshi and Windy Arm lakes, surrounded by towering peaks. Bonus stop at the Yukon Suspension Bridge which includes the bridge crossing for views above the Tutshi river canyon. Also available on site are educational displays, restrooms, snack bar, and gift shop. Make a final stop at the Yukon border sign and take a souvenir photo of your shore excursion at the Welcome to the Yukon sign. Afterward, enjoy transport back to your cruise ship in Skagway

A great tour to get away from the port itself

George_J, Sep 2026
This is a great tour to get away from the port and see the interior part of the country and go up into Canada on the Yukon. It’s great scenery. It is a basic #MIN bus tour. There’s nothing particularly exciting. We didn’t see a whole lot of wildlife, but it is worth wild and a very good value for the money. The tour company is excellent the people I would highly recommend frontier tours.

Amazing Skagway & Yukon Adventure with Andrew!

Nellie_S, Sep 2026
We had an amazing day exploring Skagway and the Yukon, and so much of that was thanks to our wonderful guide, Andrew! He was knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and made the entire experience so enjoyable. He shared so much history and interesting information along the way, while making sure everyone was comfortable and having a great time. The Yukon Suspension Bridge was absolutely beautiful and definitely a highlight of our Alaska adventure! The scenery was breathtaking, and Andrew made the whole day even more memorable. We highly recommend Andrew to anyone looking for a fantastic guide in Skagway. He truly went above and beyond, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Yukon & Suspension Bridge Excursion Bus Tour

Eva_M, Sep 2026
I was on this very informative, enjoyable tour on Sept. 8th during our cruise port of Skagway. The bus ride up to the Yukon and back was comfortable and the scenery was spectacular! The highlight was crossing the Suspension Bridge over the Tutshi (pronounced Too-shy) River! Then going to the snack shop and getting a deelish bowl of Bison Chili! Definitely warmed me up as it was very windy & cold by the time we arrived. Our driver, MIKE was amazing; funny, engaging, courteous, personable giving us information on Skagway, the Yukon and other funny stories. He stopped many times along the way to graciously take photos of all the passengers, the 2 iconic photos of the Yukon sign and Welcome to Alaska sign. My unbridled joy is apparent-Alaska has been my dream destination forever!!! And I was beyond thrilled that I was there!!!

This tour is so personalized and educational as we made our way to the Yukon border. Our driver, Connor, was so interesting to listen to! We stopped multiple times for picture opportunities along the way and took in the majestic views. We absolutely loved this tour!

Awesome Yukon Tour

Bonnie_O, Sep 2026
This was a wonderful and beautiful excursion. I appreciated our tour guide, Mike, finding the best times and places to stop for viewing and photos. The suspension bridge and all scenery were breathtaking. Mike took photos for us whenever we liked and was an informative and entertaining guide, another great part of our wonderful trip.

Skagway and away we go!

Victoria_G, Aug 2026
Our tour guide ( Beverly) could not have been more entertaining and informative with many stops along the way to see Skagway for the day. Thank you Beverly!

Better than the train ride!

Robert_R, Aug 2026
This was a small bus tour (10 people) that focused on opportunity to see more. Our guide Andrew was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging which made the experience so much better. I was going to book the train ride as it is highly rated but it was sold out and this was the closest experience. IMO it had to be much better. The small group allowed us to stop at a bunch of places and see things up close you don’t see from a train. The Yukon is meant to see up close! Highly recommend!

This is absolutely the tour you want to do from Skagway. It was by far the best tour we did on our Alaska trip. What I liked was the historical information our guide shared and the many stops that we made along the way to take photos.

We had a beautiful weather day to explore the scenery. The tour guide, Andrew, was very knowledgeable and was entertaining in his descriptions of the sites we were seeing, stories from the gold rush and the past. We enjoyed the fact that we were able to get out to take pictures and see the sites rather than just drive past quickly. Great day overall!

Great tour for the price

Chantele_M, Aug 2026
Garrett our driver / guide was nothing short of amazing. He was so knowledgeable about Alaska and we learned so much. The weather was perfect as well. We got lucky to see Alaska the Yukon in all its beauty, dry!

Skagway Bus Tour with Conner

Traci_S, Aug 2026
We Loved it. Conner was the guide/bus driver and he was GREAT!!!. Learned a lot about Skagway and he even shared some personal experiences. I would do this tour again when my husband and I do an Alaska cruise. The suspension bridge was super cool and it had a snack shop and bar. Get the Bison chili it comes with a sourdough roll...yummy. We had great weather. Along the tour it had a few photo opportunities and Conner was the photographer.

Beautiful and breathtaking!

Lori_R, Aug 2026
Great way to see the Yukon and history of the gold rush. Great opportunity for pictures! Patrick was awesome as our driver and guide exploring the beautiful lakes and waterfalls along the way. The stop at the Suspension Bridge in Canada was amazing and informative! So glad we did this!

Excellent tour

Kathleen_E, Jul 2026
Wonderful driver/tour guide. Kept us informed on a variety of topics from history, plant life, culture, and facts about Skagway and the mountainous area all the way to the Yukon. Very informative and enjoyable as well as scenic!

Our guide was AWESOME

katherine_a, Jul 2026
GARRET was excellent!! He was knowledgeable, flexible, laid back and super friendly!! Highly recommend this tour. Ask for Garrett!!!

Best tour guide ever!

John_W, Jul 2026
My wife and I had the privilege of having Andrew Nadon for a tour guide, but he is so much more than a tour guide; he’s a historian with a sense of humor. He’s a singer with a really good voice. He’s a storyteller. One of the most fascinating people we’ve met We couldn’t have asked for a more entertaining and informative experience. Ask him to recite poetry relevant to the history. We highly recommend Andrew!

Danielle_G, Jul 2026
Very beautiful drive with some great stops. The bus driver was very knowledgeable about the area and history.

Yukon gold worthy trip

Scott_S, Jul 2026
While food is not included, there is an opportunity at the suspension bridge to get food. Our tour operator, “Beverly Hills,” was exceptional! Her knowledge and personality are an absolute plus for this excursion. There are plenty of stops for photo opportunities. An absolute must if you are in Skagway.

Beautiful and Knowledgeable Tour

Cynthia_H, Jul 2026
The tour was great! Conner did a great job and really knew his stuff. A lot of guides don’t have in depth knowledge of what they are talking about but Conner did! The scenery was beautiful and we really enjoyed it. The only problem was in trying to find the starting point of our tour. Viator seemed to give us the wrong location to meet the van. We walked a fair distance only to have the tour operator call us and said they were waiting for us on the dock where the ship was. Luckily the tour operator, Frontier came and picked us up.

Joe_F, Jul 2026
Great drive to all the mentioned areas. Connor our guide and driver was fantastic. Told us great stories, very insightful on the area and even dictated a poem to us. He was very knowledgeable, accommodating and helpful. Made the tour and ride very enjoyable. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Also very happy to support a family owned business.

Skagway land tour
