Travel the historic Klondike Highway, admiring rugged mountains, cascading waterfalls, as someone else focuses on the road, and snap photos of the dramatic Tormented Valley. Ascend to the White Pass summit and watch for wildlife. Don’t forget to bring a valid passport for this cross-border adventure.
  • Travel the scenic Klondike Highway from Skagway into British Columbia

Itinerary

After pickup from Skagway port, board your mini-bus and drive along the Klondike Highway in British Columbia. Amid stunning mountain scenery, pass landmarks including Brackett Wagon Road, WP&YR railroad, Moore Creek Bridge and Pitchfork Falls. During the day, keep watch for moose, bears, birds, sheep, and goats.

Ascend 3,292 feet (1003 meters) to White Pass summit, a route that thousands of stampeders journeyed in 1898 during the Gold Rush in search of fortune. Enter Tormented Valley, a subarctic alpine tundra with a beautiful lake.

Travel into northern Boreal forests and stop at Tutshi and Windy Arm lakes, surrounded by towering peaks. Bonus stop at the Yukon Suspension Bridge which includes the bridge crossing for views above the Tutshi river canyon. Also available on site are educational displays, restrooms, snack bar, and gift shop. Make a final stop at the Yukon border sign and take a souvenir photo of your shore excursion at the Welcome to the Yukon sign. Afterward, enjoy transport back to your cruise ship in Skagway

Our guide Andrew was fantastic. He told wonderful stories about the gold rush and about where we were going. He also offered to take photos of everyone, and did an excellent job. The tour was exactly what we were looking for.

Excellent tour

Kathleen_E, Jul 2026
Wonderful driver/tour guide. Kept us informed on a variety of topics from history, plant life, culture, and facts about Skagway and the mountainous area all the way to the Yukon. Very informative and enjoyable as well as scenic!

Best tour guide ever!

John_W, Jul 2026
My wife and I had the privilege of having Andrew Nadon for a tour guide, but he is so much more than a tour guide; he’s a historian with a sense of humor. He’s a singer with a really good voice. He’s a storyteller. One of the most fascinating people we’ve met We couldn’t have asked for a more entertaining and informative experience. Ask him to recite poetry relevant to the history. We highly recommend Andrew!

Yukon gold worthy trip

Scott_S, Jul 2026
While food is not included, there is an opportunity at the suspension bridge to get food. Our tour operator, “Beverly Hills,” was exceptional! Her knowledge and personality are an absolute plus for this excursion. There are plenty of stops for photo opportunities. An absolute must if you are in Skagway.

Beautiful and Knowledgeable Tour

Cynthia_H, Jul 2026
The tour was great! Conner did a great job and really knew his stuff. A lot of guides don’t have in depth knowledge of what they are talking about but Conner did! The scenery was beautiful and we really enjoyed it. The only problem was in trying to find the starting point of our tour. Viator seemed to give us the wrong location to meet the van. We walked a fair distance only to have the tour operator call us and said they were waiting for us on the dock where the ship was. Luckily the tour operator, Frontier came and picked us up.

Great drive to all the mentioned areas. Connor our guide and driver was fantastic. Told us great stories, very insightful on the area and even dictated a poem to us. He was very knowledgeable, accommodating and helpful. Made the tour and ride very enjoyable. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Also very happy to support a family owned business.

We had a great time on this tour! Even though we were running late due to our cruise ship having to shuttle us to the pier, they made sure to pick us up and catch us up with the rest of the group. Highly recommend!

Definitely do it.

The scenery as you travel through the Coastal Mountains following the path of the gold rush to the Yukon. Our guide Mike was amazing both with his knowledge as well as his entertaining.

Our tour guide Andrew, was fantastic! Very informative, interesting, and loved his jokes. Great harmonica player ;). Photo stops are perfectly picked and timing is perfect. Great scenery, worth the trip!! Thank you :)

Amazing views, Mike was the perfect guide!

Natalie_T, Jun 2026
Our tour guide Mike was amazing! So fun, and very knowledgeable. He's not too bad with taking cell phone pictures for you either 😉 The stops were perfect, breathtaking. Pictures do not do it justice, you need to experience this in real life. We never would have seen so much that Skagway had to offer without this. The suspension bridge is fun, and has food/drinks to purchase while there.

Great Day!

Dale_P, Jun 2026
We had a wonderful Guide/Driver Beverly. She was fun, knowledgeable and very helpful. Scenery , stories and first hand experiences made the day. Great photography too.

Beautiful Views and a Great Excursion!

Jessica_G, Jun 2026
This was one of the highlights of our Alaska cruise! The scenery on the drive to the Yukon Border was absolutely breathtaking, and the suspension bridge offered incredible views and great photo opportunities. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the tour fun from start to finish. If you're visiting Skagway, I highly recommend this excursion!

Far better trip than the train

Chris_L, Jun 2026
I’ve taken the train before, I much prefer this. The train is difficult to take photos from. Rarely stops. We had frequent photo stops. Better places to stop by far. No way I’d ever recommend taking the train to a friend.

Enjoyable and relaxing

Norzan_H, Jun 2026
The trip took about 4 hours and a half. We were picked up at the dock and Mike the guide was very friendly and talkative all the time. He brought us to lots of photo shooting places and killed the silence along the way by introducing the city, the nature, the life in Skagway and so on. We stopped at the suspension bridge for about 45 minutes and it was beautiful. We got the chance to take pictures at the signs of welcome to Yukon and Alaska (respectively). The only pity was that we did not get a chance to spot any wild lives, but the whole trip was enjoyable and relaxing.

We were fortunate to have Connor, an excellent guide. He made the experience entertaining, fulfilling and pleasant. He has a vast knowledge of the history, nature, the surroundings, and fun anecdotes. He is an outstanding guide.

Great Drive to The Yukon

David_B, Jun 2026
The tour was outstanding. The scenery was amazing. The bus was comfortable as our tour had 16 people on it so we were not cramped. Our tour guide, Connor, was a wealth of knowledge about the area and the gold rush. Twice he stopped and double back so the group could see a bear and moose. Overall, a great tour.

Good intro & tour into the Yukon and surrounds

Michael_L, Jun 2026
I think there were about 30 of us (from different cruise ships docked on that day) in the school bus. I found this to be a comfortable number for such a tour. Our guide was very pleasant and informative. He gave us plenty of photo stops along the way with enough time without feeling rushed.

Outstanding tour

MARTIN_B, Jun 2026
This was a fabulous experience. We loved everything about it. Our driver and guide Mike was outstanding- extremely knowledgeable and very funny, while his driving was exceptional. My wife is very prone to travel sickness on buses, but felt the drive was smooth throughout, which is a big compliment. The tour showed us so much of what Alaska has to offer, and the frequent stops allowed us to take wonderful photos. We realy enjoyed the stop at the Yukon suspension bridge and the lake.
