This was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Cascais is a charming beachfront town, offering a delightful selection of eateries and shops. Our second stop, Cabo da Roca, was truly exhilarating—its dramatic ocean views and iconic lighthouse provided stunning photo opportunities. Our tour guide, Vasco, was personable and highly knowledgeable, offering valuable insights into the history of each location as well as Portugal’s political and monarchical past. Sintra, our next destination, was enchanting—rustic, mystical, and full of character. We were given ample time to explore at our own pace and enjoy lunch at a local establishment, which enhanced the overall experience. The final stop at Pena Palace was breathtaking. The palace itself resembles a fairy-tale castle, surrounded by beautifully maintained grounds filled with diverse trees, flowers, and vegetation. Visitors should be prepared for a moderately challenging 20-minute uphill walk to the entrance; however, shuttle options are available for convenience. Overall, this tour was well-paced, informative, and memorable. A sincere thank you to Vasco for being such an outstanding host and guide.

Outstanding Customer Experience

From even before the tour, the experience with Viator was just awesome. We had a few hiccups--1) it was Easter week and crowds were growing; 2) Family emergency for scheduled tour guide. Both issues were handled quickly and professionally. Pedro contacted me the day before the tour realizing that ticket sales for the Regaleira would be difficult. When I didn't respond right away, he went ahead and purchased the tickets for us so that we wouldn't be closed out of seeing that majestic building and grounds. Then, on the day of, our scheduled tour guide learned of a family emergency. Pedro & Miguel were already looking for a solution--his name was Jorge! Jorge, who was supposed to have the day off, stepped in and provided us with a most memorable day. So much knowledge of the history of Portugal, fun and charismatic as well. The Palace and Regaleira were astonishing and we had beautiful stops along the way to view the impressive coastline of Portugal. Highly recommend this tour!

The best tour we’ve done

We had an amazing experience on this tour! Our guide André made sure we were the first people in line for Pena Palace. He even booked it up the hill to make sure we kept our spot as first in line while we walked up on our own time! We had some free time in the town for a coffee and a little bit of shopping before our tour of Regaleira palace. He guided us around the grounds and then gave us a little bit of free time to finish exploring. We then had lunch in the Sintra town center, and following his recommendation, we had a delicious and traditional Portuguese lunch. André gave us so much information at each stop as well as general history and recommendations about Lisbon and Portugal. We had plenty of time in each location to get to explore and take pictures. We got back to the Lisbon city center around 3:30 in the afternoon, so we still had a good chunk of the day to explore. If anyone is looking for a day trip to Sintra, this should be your pick! 1. All of the tickets were organized and included in the price. One payment/booking and that’s it. 2. Great pacing and time at each stop. We didn’t feel rushed at all and the day felt relaxed while we were seeing and doing lots. 3. Probably the most important—the guide! André was such an interesting and informative guide. He loved to talk about the history of his country and his life experience, making for a very fun and interesting tour. We learned so much and were impressed at the amount of information he provided us. I would repeat this tour and would love to take other tours with this group. The quality is unmatched. Thank you for making this a highlight of our trip to Portugal.

Lisbon Walking Tour - The Perfect Introduction to the City

An amazing and insightful walking tour around Lisbon centre.

Our guide Claudia was amazing on this tour. We started in the tour in the Praca de Comercio square. Be weary there were other tour guides operating at the meeting point with orange umbrellas, but as we booked on Viator, Claudia had our names on her list to confirm we were with her when we approached. The tour lasted 2.5 hours and took us from the square to Rossio and Baxia-Chaido. We visited a number of places and stopped frequently whilst Claudia explained the history and interesting insights of Lisbon. We visited a church, saw the fountains, stopped up for a traditional cherry liquor called ginjinha - so don't forget to take some euros with you. The principle of the tour is that it's free, but you do tip the guide in cash at the end as they have given up their time to take you around and having that local knowledge early on in your stay is so beneficial for your visit. We definitely re-visited a few places after the tour. Overall we enjoyed this tour and would definitely do something like this again.

Great tour!

We explored two vineyards on the vineyard tour from Lisbon. It was great to access vineyards that I normally would not have been able to access without a car in Lisbon. The wines were flavorful while the vineyards were fantastic and welcoming. Xavier made the trip perfect despite the hurricane/storm that was battering Lisbon at the time. We booked the English-speaking tour and Xavier's spoke perfect American-English.

Great way to start off our visit to Lisbon!

I originally booked a tuktuk tour but switched last minute after I saw rain in the forecast on Feb 8, 2026. We had Ricardo as our guide and from the very first interaction, we knew he would be amazing! Although it was a rainy day in Lisbon, he customized our tour especially for my Dad (he uses a walker) so that we could see as many things as we could in the 4 hour tour we booked. He was very attentive to our needs, ensuring he would drop us off as close as possible to the entrance of each of the sites and gave us free time to explore around and take pictures. We were able to try Pasteis de Belem and had a ginja shot close to Rossio Square! Highlight of the tour for sure! He also shared some local recommendations on what to do after, where to eat etc. Only downside was that the van wasn't as comfortable as it could be - the seats you could feel the metal underneath on the middle row and with the cold and rain, the windows fogged up inside and we had to wipe the inside windows down to be able to see sites that we would pass by. This is beyond the tour guide's control - Ricardo was a wonderful guide, had great stories to share and treated us like we were family! Obrigada!
