Kate was a great tour guide. This was a nice intro to Lisbon. We learned and saw a lot but it was not overwhelming.

Tiago was an exceptional guide who brought the history, culture and love for his city to life for all of us in his tour group. He went the extra yards to show us some absolutely hidden gems, shared with us knowledge only available to locals and we were all greatly enriched because of his wonderful sharing nature. I would highly recommend that if you want to get to know Lisbon Tiago is the guide you need.

Our guide Claudia was amazing on this tour. We started in the tour in the Praca de Comercio square. Be weary there were other tour guides operating at the meeting point with orange umbrellas, but as we booked on Viator, Claudia had our names on her list to confirm we were with her when we approached. The tour lasted 2.5 hours and took us from the square to Rossio and Baxia-Chaido. We visited a number of places and stopped frequently whilst Claudia explained the history and interesting insights of Lisbon. We visited a church, saw the fountains, stopped up for a traditional cherry liquor called ginjinha - so don't forget to take some euros with you. The principle of the tour is that it's free, but you do tip the guide in cash at the end as they have given up their time to take you around and having that local knowledge early on in your stay is so beneficial for your visit. We definitely re-visited a few places after the tour. Overall we enjoyed this tour and would definitely do something like this again.

The tour was amazing, so informative. Tiabo, our tour guide was so knowledgeable and engaging in his storytelling. He was so animated and passionate about his history and descriptions of the earthquake, the cursed church, and the Carnation Revolution. I definitely recommend this tour and Tiabo. I learned so much.

This was an awesome tour and well worth the experience. Tiago was an amazing guide who clearly loves his city and is knowledgeable about its history and culture. It was a good tour but he talked way too fast and when I told him three times he didn’t change it. Combined with his accent it was hard to understand him. I had to keep asking him what he just said. I liked what I could understand and see. If he slowed down it would be much better.

Rendezvous was in Commercial Square , the guide was named Walter and initially he appeared friendly and chatty. He started the tour with a rather long dialogue explaining that this was how he made his living and that his expectation was a ‘minimum of €10 euros per person’!! This was because he had to pay taxes ( just like the rest of us ) and he had expenses !!
Whilst I appreciate this - it immediately left a sour taste with me - we were effectively being told what to pay and somewhat being bullied and made to feel uncomfortable . I am sure many would leave a good ‘tip’ however no one likes to being told what to pay .
Now I have been on many city walking tours and NEVER have I had a lecture like this . Personally I would have walked away at this point but 2 others of our party wanted to stay. We did and continued on .
Please feed this back as there are many other tours people can use and pay a fixed price for and they will get what they pay for .

Sorry you felt this way about his initial speech.
Unfortunately not everybody has been to these kind of tours before, and we have to let people know at the begginning how do they work.
Before we doing this, a lot of people were leaving any tip at all to the guide, what is unfair.
Perhaps next time you book a tour, book one with a fixed price so you don't have to feel this way about the guide's explanation about it.

This was a fantastic walk tour and a great intro to Lisbon. Tiago was our tour guide and he was funny and passionate about everything he explain which made the experience even better. Would highly recommend this and make sure you wear comfy shoes!
