Very good tour. Guide was knowledgeable in Lisbon history and made it an enjoyable experience. Very informative.
Jose was a fabulous guide and so knowledgeable!! I learned a lot and he kept it interesting! He even showed us short cuts to get around Lisbon!
My friend and I did this tour with Jose, who is an amazing storyteller and tour guide. 10/10 recommend — this was the first activity we did in Lisbon, and it gave us a great overview of the city’s history up to today! Truly the perfect introduction to the city. Jose is the best!

Jose, our tour guide, did an incredible job bringing Lisbon to life. Despite the limited 3-hour tour, he skillfully covered Portugal’s intricate history through captivating and humorous stories that deepened my appreciation for the city. The stories about the devastating Lisbon earthquake and the remarkable city’s subsequent rebuilding were particularly poignant. Jose also provided valuable recommendations for off-the-beaten-path places to visit and shared some hidden shortcuts (escalators and elevators) to navigate the city’s hilly terrain. These tips were incredibly helpful, especially after the tour. While the tour cost around 1-2 euros on Viator, I highly recommend tipping Jose at least 30-40 euros at the end of the tour to show your appreciation for his expertise and dedication.

Nice tour. Guide could have been. She was hard to hear and understand. She also asked the guests too many questions instead of just telling us about history.

The walking tour was the perfect introduction to Lisbon historic district. Katerina was knowledgeable and told engaging pieces of Lisbon complex history. It was not the most engaging for young kids - but my 11 year old was engaged and we were still glad we went! Highly recommend!

Great guide in Beatrice, who was flawless in her delivery of the Lisbon’s history. She delivered the information in an interesting and lively manner as we travelled in Baxia and neighboring areas. She showed us shortcuts to avoid all the steps and inclines. An excellent tour I highly recommend.

Clever, well-informed guide combined Portugese history with charming vertical shortcuts to show us Central Lisbon. Pace was comfortable but not lagging. She made history come alive! My watch showed 8,000 steps-- not for slowpokes or those with mobility difficulties.

It was fine. Stood around a lot, and in some not so nice places. Walked straight through tourist spots, but nothing interesting was there. Didn’t go into Alfama

Alfama is not included in the route of this tour and that's why the guide didn't go there. I'd recommend reading the description of the tour and what it's included before booking to avoid disappointments

As a former history teacher, he brought the city’s past to life with fascinating stories, historical context, and details we never would have learned on our own. Our guide Kleiver (my apologies if I mispelled it!) was great! We enjoyed the 2.5 hours walking around two neighborhoods and listening to all explanations from our friendly guide. I will definitely book it again to discover the other neighborhoods of Lisbon.

I landed in Lisbon only a couple hours prior and was exhausted but trying to stay awake. This was the perfect way to do that. Jose knew SO much and conveyed the history and drama of Lisbon's past in an engaging way, stopping at all the right points. He easily entertained questions (I'm one of those people) and sent us recommendations after the fact. He was also respectful of the glaring late afternoon sun and tried to keep us in the shade as much as possible. Despite being exhausted, this was fantastic!

Katarina was an excellent guide. She infused humor with great story telling. She is knowledgeable about the history of Lisbon and the two hour walk covered many major architectural landmarks. She included a couple spots to sit out of the sun. Well paced, informative and a great start to our visit to Lisbon. My only suggestion is that. Viator should not leave the cost optional. Some visitors took advantage of the payment structure.

Very informative walking tour with lots of history and recommendations for restaurants etc. The guide walked at a great pace, not too fast which was needed with how hilly Lisbon is.
