Amazing! So informative and interesting, we saw a lot but never felt rushed. Miguel is an absolute gem and extremely knowledgeable. We had fun and this was a great experience. Appreciated the photo ops and the pastry recommendations!!

Pedro was a great guide. We learned alot of Portuguese history. We appreciated that he asked how much talking we wanted instead of just talking all day. We had a bit of free time while he parked the car and he recommended a pastry Cafe and a store to shop at. Easy communication.

Pedro was a wonderful guide. He was so knowledgeable and started off by giving the entire history of the country, leading up to Sintra and how these beautiful sites became what they are today. He was very patient and answered every question that we had. He gave us suggestions for lunch and waited patiently as we took our time in Sintra. I could not recommend this tour enough.

Friendly local tour guide and driver

Pedro was early to arrive, a great driver and friendly tour guide. He is young in his career but a local from Sintra who had plenty of knowledge about the area and the two main places we visited -- Pena Palace and Quinta da Regailera. We also visited the Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of the European continent and skipped Cascais since we had already stayed there earlier in our trip. He was fun to talk to and took nice photos they weren't our typical selfies. At the end he dropped us off to a sports bar for a World Cup game we wanted to catch. Highly recommend!

Private Tour Sintra Castles and Lookouts!

Sebastian from I Go Portugal Tours picked us up for a great day of sightseeing in Sintra from Lisbon. He was on time and waiting for us in a comfortable van well air conditioned! Sebastian figured out the best route for our full day tour which included Pena and Regaleira Castles, Boca do Inferno-Cascais, and Cape Roca-Sintra. We did both castles from the outside as research indicated not much to see in our opinion. However at Regaleira we saw the incredible Initiation Well and caves not to be missed! Sebastian did a great job bringing us from place to place and staying with us as we toured! We even had time to eat lunch in Sintra! Please note, you do have to buy tickets to see the castles and to get on the grounds. I recommend that you contact the tour company in advance to guarantee times and to go over your itinerary. It is too much to do more than 2 castles in one day!

Our group of eight had a wide range of interests, and Pedro did an excellent job tailoring the itinerary so that everyone got to see and experience what they were most interested in. His knowledge of the history, culture, and local area was impressive, but what really made the tour special was his friendly personality and great sense of humor. Our tour guide, Sonia, went ABOVE and BEYOND. There were accidents on the highway after she picked us up; she took alternative routes and communicated with other guides to ensure our tickets would still be honored (because they are at set times for some monuments). She was charasmatic, knowledgeable and an absolute professional. We can't recommend this tour with this company enough!

We had a wonderful private tour to Sintra and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Pedro was an excellent guide. He was knowledgeable, kind, and patient. Since he’s from Sintra himself, it made the experience feel even more personal. You could tell how much he cares about the area and knows its history, culture, and hidden spots at the monuments so well. Our family of four visiting from the US felt well taken care of. We were able to see so many beautiful places in one day, including the town of Sintra, Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira, Cabo da Roca, and Cascais, where we had a great lunch by the coast. We especially appreciated was how helpful and experienced the company was. Quinta da Regaleira was sold out the day of our tour, and somehow they were still able to get us in. We were really grateful because it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. What stood out most was that the experience felt personal rather than overly scripted. We left with great memories from the day and would happily recommend this tour to anyone visiting Portugal.

My partner and I had a wonderful day with Jorge. He picked us up right on time at our hotel and entertained us as we drove out to the end of the world, Cabo de São Vicente. He showed us the best places to take photos and gave us just enough tidbits to make each site interesting and engaging. He gave us some great advice when we got to Quinta de Regalaire and we got to see the Initiation Well with almost no one else there. He spent over eight hours with us and was a delight the entire time. We felt really fortunate to have Jorge as our guide and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Private Tour to Sintra

We had a wonderful day with Sebastiano on our day trip to Sintra. He was very kind, knowledgeable and a great tour guide. The van was pristine and very comfortable. Sebastiano adjusted the route to avoid peak times in Sintra. After picking us up we first scheduled our tour times for the National Palace of Pena and Regaleira. Then it was on to Cascais where we were able to stop for about a half hour to visit the city and have a coffee break. We then went to Sintra and had time to wander on our own and have lunch. What a beautiful city with amazing views and shops. Then on to Pina Palace where Sebastiano explained the background and architecture of the palace. Sebastiano led us on the tour and explained everything to us along the way. PIna Palace is not to be missed - a true cultural gem. We then went to Regaleira which also has a very interesting story and totally different architecture. Unfortunately the line to go down the circular stairs was extremely long (and one person in our party had difficulty), so Sebastiano explained what people see on the walk while we did near the entrance, and what the historical context was. We then walked to where the stairs let out and saw what the exit process was. Amazing. Sebastiano did a great job adjusting to the circumstances and gave us the context and next best experience. The palace itself is very beautiful, but hard to compare with Pena Palace. I highly recommend this tour - I could not imagine having tried to do this on our own. It was much nicer taking a private tour and being able to adjust as we saw fit, versus doing this with a group.

The tour was great! Our guide was just as great. Had such a great day, learned a lot, walked a lot but not enough to ask our guide to stop. We took our time with everything and lots of photos. I can not recommend enough of how great Pedro was! He listened to our questions. Took us to an amazing restaurant for tapas, enjoyed a pastry from a small establishment from I believe orginal recipe for 1862.. there was just so much but not to much to overload you. Ask for Pedro he will treat you well!! Ps: he is a great driver!! Thank You Pedro for everything today!

We had the most perfect day with Pedro our guide on this amazing tour - not just his enthusiasm, exceptional knowledge of every aspect of the tour and places visited. This was not just just Portuguese history but European history and the European monarchies; combined with skilled driving but the ambience and the friendship on the tour. It really was like a close and caring friend sharing with us all the wonderful places we visited. It was memorable and fun. And we ended the your discussing music of the romantic period and listening to Chopin nocturnes. We highly recommend IGO Tours. Sonia is an excellent guide. First thing she did was ask us what we wished to visit and how elaborate a lunch we desired. She then planned our day to avoid the crowds at Sintra. I was impressed. When we visited the palaces, they were not crowded. Sonia’s van was very comfortable for our party of 4. She entertained us with interesting stories while we were in transit. At the sites she clearly explained what we were seeing and the history of the sites. She was great at offering to take pictures of us at these sites as well. I would recommend this tour. I would also recommend using IGO Tours in Portugal. Sonia explained they can organize wine tours, Lisbon tours, etc.

A great way to visit the misty hills of Santra

Great private experience with our guide Sebastian, who did everything he could to make our experience tailored to what we really wanted to see and concentrate on. Only suggestion: Since we were a private tour, I wish we could have been able to buy our event tickets earlier than that morning after he met us to save a few minutes and maybe get better times for entry, but that might be done to take into consideration that day's weather or availability. Advice for all visitors: Bring a raincoat just in case, the weather can change fast up there!

We had a great day touring the sights of Sintra and beyond thanks to our guide, Carlos. Carlos catered the day to our needs keeping in mind the things we wanted to see and the crowds. We visited Cascais, Cabo da Roca, Peña Palace and the town of Sintra. On the recommendation of Carlos, we ended the day at the lesser known Palace of Queluz (a beautifully kept secret!). Carlos also made us a reservation for lunch at a lovely restaurant overlooking the ocean. We can recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough to get Carlos as your guide, you will appreciate his historical knowledge of the area, his interesting stories, and his sense of humour. A great day overall!
