My dad and I did our first trip to Portugal and knew that Sintra was going to be a must-do. After researching and seeing the reviews for this provider, I booked us in for a private day tour and it was the best decision!
Sebastian was the perfect guide. He was polite, timely and so knowledgeable. He went above and beyond to make sure our tour was amazing. It was the hottest day (100F 🔥) and Sebastian was so patient and accommodating. He even went back to our car to help drop off souvenirs we bought and still managed to catch up with us (up hill!) on our trek up to Regaleria (which is a must do!!)
The van we had was comfortable, clean and such a luxury given the long drive and souvenir buying we did. And the air conditioning saved the day under the extreme heat.
Highlighly recommend booking and definitely ask for Sebastian to be your guide!

We are so glad that we booked this trip! Communication with Pedro was smooth beforehand. Buy your separate palace tickets early and make sure to coordinate the entrance times! Wear good walking shoes!
Katherine, our guide, was WONDERFUL! She picked us up at hotel in a nice and clean car. Great driver. Cheerful and patient as we squeezed in all of the amazing sights in one day. Knowledgeable about Portugal and its history. We learned so much about the tour spots, and she also gave us excellent suggestions for meals in Lisbon and Porto (where we’re going next).
Xico was a delicious lunch spot in Sintra, and we picked up some pastries at the old bakery (with the yellow awning).
All in all, this tour is highly recommended and we loved having a private car and guide!! We are telling all of our friends about it. Book it!

Our Sintra tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Portugal, and so much of that was because of our wonderful guide, Pedro. From the moment he picked us up at our hotel, everything was seamless. He was extremely punctual, professional, kind, and genuinely went above and beyond to make sure our family had an amazing day.
Pedro was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much fascinating history and information throughout the day, but never in a way that felt overwhelming. He somehow knew exactly when to step in with an interesting story, a helpful tip, or a little piece of local knowledge. He also knew all the little tricks for navigating Sintra, helping us avoid unnecessary lines and crowds and making the timing of the day feel effortless.
One thing that made our experience particularly special was that Pedro made the extra effort to conduct the entire tour in Spanish, even though it was his first time doing the tour in Spanish. And honestly, you would never have known it was his first time. His Spanish was excellent, he communicated everything beautifully, and he did an absolutely amazing job.
He was also incredibly thoughtful throughout the day. He had water waiting for us in the car, gave us wonderful restaurant recommendations, and even surprised us by taking the initiative to gift us some delicious local pastries — including travesseiros, which were absolutely yummy and such a sweet touch. Those little gestures really showed how much he cared about making our day special.
The timing of the tour was perfect. Pedro was incredibly patient and never rushed us. Whenever one of us wanted to spend extra time taking in a view, exploring an area, or taking photos, he simply waited patiently and let us enjoy it. He truly tailored the pace of the day to our family rather than making us feel like we were following a strict schedule.
And of course, Sintra itself was magical. The palaces, gardens, winding roads, and incredible views were everything we hoped for. Having Pedro there to explain the history and point out details we would have otherwise missed made the experience so much richer.
From the easy transfer from Lisbon, to the perfectly planned timing, to the beautiful sites, wonderful food recommendations, thoughtful touches, and exceptional guiding, we absolutely loved our Sintra experience.
Pedro was not just a tour guide — he genuinely made us feel taken care of for the entire day. We would highly recommend this tour, and especially Pedro, to anyone visiting Sintra. He is a true asset to the experience, and we feel very lucky that he was our guide. 🇵🇹❤️

We had a wonderful time! Our guide Sebastian was very knowledgeable about all the history of the places we visited. It was great having our own tour guide to explain everything to us and pace the tour so my husband, who has some mobility issues, could go at his own pace and still enjoy everything.

We were a group of nine people. The tour provided us with two large vans and the convenience of traveling together. Each car had a guide . We were picked up promptly at our hotel. The two guides, Karherine and Sebastian, were excellent. They kept the tour moving and were so patient with all our group and their varying levels of ability. We saw the Pena Palace and the Palace of Regaleita. The tour does involve a great deal of walking.and we did have time for a lovely lunch. It was a. wonderful way to visit the two palaces and to visit outside of Lisbon. Touring with Kathrine and Sebastian made the whole day informative and fun. It was a day we will cherish and never forget!

Miguel, Pedro and Katherine were amazing guides! They led our group of 16 through the palaces of Sintra and kept us engaged with the history and interesting stories. They went out of their way to meet the needs of the group, even took us to the beach and dinner in Cascais! I would highly recommend!

Our Guide Sebastian was great. And Pedro from Viator was very accommodating in finding a guide who would pick us up at our rental house in Cascais not Lisbon. Sebastian was prompt, courteous and is a local who knew the area well. On our way up to Sintra he gave us a rundown on the history and guided us through the tour Pena palace tour. He insisted we do the wall walk and it was worth it! Highly recommend this tour if your needs are a little different than a standard tour.
Our guides Pedro and Katherine were amazing. Very knowledgeable, super friendly, and great drivers. We felt very cared for. They also gave great restaurant recommendations and made reservations for us for lunch to allow us to stay on schedule.

Pedro was early to arrive, a great driver and friendly tour guide. He is young in his career but a local from Sintra who had plenty of knowledge about the area and the two main places we visited -- Pena Palace and Quinta da Regailera. We also visited the Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of the European continent and skipped Cascais since we had already stayed there earlier in our trip. He was fun to talk to and took nice photos they weren't our typical selfies. At the end he dropped us off to a sports bar for a World Cup game we wanted to catch. Highly recommend!

Pedro was a wonderful guide. He was so knowledgeable and started off by giving the entire history of the country, leading up to Sintra and how these beautiful sites became what they are today. He was very patient and answered every question that we had. He gave us suggestions for lunch and waited patiently as we took our time in Sintra. I could not recommend this tour enough.

Sebastian from I Go Portugal Tours picked us up for a great day of sightseeing in Sintra from Lisbon. He was on time and waiting for us in a comfortable van well air conditioned! Sebastian figured out the best route for our full day tour which included Pena and Regaleira Castles, Boca do Inferno-Cascais, and Cape Roca-Sintra. We did both castles from the outside as research indicated not much to see in our opinion. However at Regaleira we saw the incredible Initiation Well and caves not to be missed!
Sebastian did a great job bringing us from place to place and staying with us as we toured! We even had time to eat lunch in Sintra! Please note, you do have to buy tickets to see the castles and to get on the grounds. I recommend that you contact the tour company in advance to guarantee times and to go over your itinerary. It is too much to do more than 2 castles in one day!

We had a wonderful day touring Sintra with Pedro M. Our group of eight had a wide range of interests, and Pedro did an excellent job tailoring the itinerary so that everyone got to see and experience what they were most interested in. His knowledge of the history, culture, and local area was impressive, but what really made the tour special was his friendly personality and great sense of humor.
