Pedro gave us a a very thorough tour of Sintra, Cabo de Roca, and Cascais. We loved seeing the palace and town, tasting pastries and even eating gelato at Santinis. All of the places were amazing and Pedro was extremely knowledgeable about the places and Portuguese language facts.
Make sure to leave some extra time after the set tour end as Pedro was great and did not rush us back.

What an incredible day! Exploring two Palaces in one day! We had arrived in port on our ship and were picked up on time and greeted by Sonia. She is absolutely a delight to spend the day with. She quickly made us comfortable and we were able to adjust our day to our specific requests. We made ticket arrangements online to skip the line at the Palaces. She navigated the day to insure we got the best experience possible. We were in awe of the Pena Palace as well as the Regaleira Palace. She helped us take photos and gave us the history to keep the stories alive. Our day was amazing; absolutely one of the best tours we have ever had. We’ve taken many many tours on our Around The World travels … Sonia was simply the best. Our day ended back at the port with more than enough time to spare. Don’t hesitate to book this tour if you’re cruise ports in Lisbon.

Pedro was great. Wow, does he know his history, dates, royalty bloodlines and information. Plus, his suggestions meant we didn't have to wait in long lines like other people and we had a great restaurant for lunch. A fantastic day! Just the right pace of sites and downtime for our family of five, with a lot of flexibility in terms of choosing which areas to cover within the experience. In addition to our beautiful tours and time around the grounds of Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira, we were able to stop for a quick pastry and coffee at a local cafe in the morning to talk about the day, and have a delicious lunch off the beaten path in Sintra. Our guide, Goncalo, also got us to Cabo da Roca and Cascais Beach at the end of afternoon and early evening for some beautiful photos and walk around. Goncalo was a perfect guide, giving us just the right amount of information at each site and plenty of time to explore. Kind and welcoming, he also offered recommendations for any other activities while in Portugal. We loved the entire experience! We could have never covered this amount of sites and experiences within one day on our own without the expertise of our guide. Would highly recommend!

From even before the tour, the experience with Viator was just awesome. We had a few hiccups--1) it was Easter week and crowds were growing; 2) Family emergency for scheduled tour guide. Both issues were handled quickly and professionally. Pedro contacted me the day before the tour realizing that ticket sales for the Regaleira would be difficult. When I didn't respond right away, he went ahead and purchased the tickets for us so that we wouldn't be closed out of seeing that majestic building and grounds. Then, on the day of, our scheduled tour guide learned of a family emergency. Pedro & Miguel were already looking for a solution--his name was Jorge! Jorge, who was supposed to have the day off, stepped in and provided us with a most memorable day. So much knowledge of the history of Portugal, fun and charismatic as well. The Palace and Regaleira were astonishing and we had beautiful stops along the way to view the impressive coastline of Portugal. Highly recommend this tour!

Perfect mix of history, scenery and freestyle exploring. Miguel our guide was great! Knowledgeable and easy to chat with, helpful in finding the sorts of places we wanted to see. We enjoyed both palaces (Pena and Regaleira) which were both so different, as well as walking around Sintra and Cascais. 10/10 would highly recommend!

We had a fantastic day with Miguel and his team! We were a group of 12 (mix of young kids and adults) in two vans, and everything ran seamlessly. Miguel was friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly flexible-he tailored the day to our group and kept a perfect pace for both kids and adults. We never felt rushed and always felt well taken care of. A wonderful, stress-free way to explore Sintra and the coast. Highly recommend, especially for families or larger groups!

I go Portugal i makes you feel like family which is so rare. They are so professional, but also very flexible - my kids decided they wanted to go to causcais and Guelez instead of Pena and Pedro and Sonia helped us with every detail. Pedro even called me in America to help me redo our schedule when we had to postpone our trip a few days because my daughter got sick. They were so sweet and so concerned about how she was feeling.
I mean who does that? Amazing. This company is so outstanding and they really make you feel so special.
The Regaleira with Sonia was so much fun. She is so warm and genuinely wants her client to have the best time (and we did). She has the most infectious laugh and it’s worth going just to hear it. Sonia really loves.what she does and you can tell. Sonia even helped us through the train station because she always was a Single Mom with the two kids.
I cannot recommend this company highly enough. I wish every company was I go Portugal. Don’t think twice just book them. They’re so incredible and special.

Pedro was the most knowledgeable guide for Sintra. He was able to tell us Portugese history during our driving period and the castle history when we were at the castles. He is alao an excellent photographer. He made this trip all the more enjoyable. Ask for him if you book a viator trip to Sintra

Miguel was a fantastic tour guide. Picked us up on time and away we went! He was so knowledgeable and gave us a very complete history of Portugal s palaces and castles. He would drop us off and meet us since parking was an issue as it was Good Friday . Sintra was very crowded but we managed to find space. Miguel let us direct our tour a bit . He was very flexible. Would highly recommend this tour operator. Small company, big service!

Great experience. I went with my kids and husband and we had a splendid time, our guide Pedro was excellent at explaining the different things we would come across and very polite and flexible. Super easy and I would definitely do it again. If you want to have a stress free but also fun and interesting experience then this is for you.

Our day in Cascais and Sintra was lovely and we appreciated Gonçalo as our guide. He was a local with a ton of knowledge an enthusiasm for the region.
You can design the day with your guide as you want and if I were to make the recommendation, I would recommend leaving Lisbon and going straight to the palaces in Sintra rather than starting with Cascais. Because we bought tickets to Pena Palace and Regelaire late, our only options were later in those days for the visit. This meant we spent the morning in Cascais and then did lunch near there and ended up a bit jammed with Sintra although it was still awesome.
There are many palaces in Sintra. Pena is the best known and was awesome to see. Regelaire was even more amazing for its history and its grounds. Th Initiation fountain was amazing. I wish we had more time to explore the grounds as mentioned before.
All in all highlight of our trip to Portugal!

My family (2 kids, husband, father) went on a private tour with Carlos as our guide. We had a wonderful time! At the outset, Carlos gave us the option for several different itineraries, taking into consideration that my children are 10 and 8 years old. The van was clean and spacious. Carlos was funny, informative, patient, and knowledgeable. We stopped off at Cascais for an hour, drove to Cabo da Roca (western most point of continental Europe), and then we had a delicious fish lunch topped off with some green wine! Finally we stopped at Sintra to shop and take a tour of the Quinta da Regaleria. The Regaleria was perfect for my kids. They loved the caves, towers, and maze. We got home around 6:45. We were exhausted but so happy. I would take any tour that Carlos gives. He was amazing. You’re in very good hands!

We are so glad we booked a private tour because although we could have got the train to Sintra this tour took us to places we would have missed. The Pena Palace in Sintra was spectacular but we also went to Cascais, a lovely town on the coast and then to Cabo de Roca which was absolutely stunning. Our tour guide then took us to a lovely restaurant overlooking the sea where we had a leisurely lunch and definitely the best food we had while in Lisbon. Would definitely recommend.

Great tour. The guide was great and the history was really interesting. We were not able to do Pena Palace, due to road closures, from weather damage, but the other palace was really great. Loved the Regaleira and highly recommend the private tour. Love that we got to walk down the stairs and through the tunnels in the well . It was nice that it was only the two of us with the guide and great that we could go at our own pace. The guide let me hotspot his phone in order to buy the timed tickets to the palace. Make sure to bring a credit card (don't know if you should bring euros in cash too). Goncalo really knows the history of the places visited and there was not a question that he was not able to answer. Perfect personality for a guide and very patient. We did need to walk up a steep hill and stairs to get into Regaleira and go through the ticket area and security. Not a problem, but something to keep in mind if you have issues. Overall great tour and highly recommend.

We customized our day trip to include the impressive gardens of Quinta Da Regaleira, a lovely lunch in Santa, Cabo de Roca, and finally walking around the beautiful beach town of Cascais. Perfect day visiting stunning palaces in Sintra. Carlos was a fantastic host. We adjusted our day as we visited during the 2026 flooding . Visited 3 palaces, dined at quaint place for lunch. So much history and did not find a historical question that could stump Carlos.

A wonderful and totally stress free way to experience Sintra. Excellent tour with a very friendly and knowledgable guide. What we particularly enjoyed were the architectural details that he was able to point out throughout the tour and the amount of history he was able to provide. It was truly a highlight of our trip to Portugal!
